I tried a strap winder. By the time I got it out of my sidebox, put it on, threaded the strap into it and cranked it, I could have had three straps wound by hand. I saved no time with it and never minded rolling up, because I always wanted to appear squared away with my technique. In all the years I pulled flatbed, I never knew anyone who used one. But I know that repeated hand motion can cause some people physical distress (carpal tunnel, trigger finger, washer woman's thumb, etc.) and a winder would be a useful tool to prevent pain and further injury.
If you had 16 straps to wind and had 3 wound by hand within the time it took to set up the tool, you'd blow by those 3 in under a minute and have the other 13 done probably in about 5 mins with the electric winder. It's a no brainer.
The electric strapwinder is the best thing out there, in my opinion. It can wind a strap in six seconds as shown in my video. I didn't even have my drill on max speed, so I could probably shave it down to four seconds. I love that thing. 😄

Hauled rebar, I had to strap every day several times a day love the strap winder is especially handy when it rains and your straps get soaking wet.
