All good suggestions, something else that i do is keep my rechargable electric hand heaters. Put them 8n a jacket pocket when out the truck makes a difference. They double as power bank for your phone in case of emergency
Slowing down on the roads and driving for the weather conditions will greatly reduce the danger of winter driving. Too many people drive way too fast in the snow and ice.
Is the pay worth it? DO You get a lot of work? Especially within your 1st year. I understand the work ethic that's needed. I live in Connecticut, and i spoke briefly with a recruiter. I just have to add combinations to my permit.
It's been worth it for me. Every driver's experience is different, though, based on your goals and needs, among other things. I consistently have freight to move. It really helps if you either live in a good area of the country where there is demand or you stay out on the road longer and can freely move.
