- Free Agency is kicking off, and the Thunder are looking to trade for a starting forward rather than sign one. With their eyes set on signing Hartenstein, they may also try and trade for Utah Jazz power forward Lauri Markkanen. Bryson Akins breaks down what a trade for Lauri would look like, and if it is possible the Thunder have the best odds of landing him.
Thunder Digest covers the latest reports, news and rumors regarding the Oklahoma City Thunder. If you want to stay updated with every trade, move and tidbit on players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, Josh Giddey, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Mark Daigneault and Sam Presti. - กีฬา
As a die-hard Lauri follower from Finland, I hope that he'd be put to a situation where he can help a team compete for the chip (preferrably in a small-market team with excellent ball and player movement). Thunder Jazz trade could easily be a win-win.
i think it is better to have a 11-12 man rotation personally. injuries happen and having those extra guys ready to go would help during those times. especially since OKC can afford it right now. it also prevents injuries making everyones load a little lighter throughout the season. i could be wrong though.
We need a team to compete with the celtics and we have AJ and dillon now, someone has to go. This 11-12 man rotation won't win a championship
@@t7-nba379 i hope you know the celtics have a 11 man rotation….
Nice in theory, but we're so young I am not worried about injuries too much. So I think so long as we have a solid 7 or 8 playoff rotation its going to be good. Because the depth did not turn out to matter much this past postseason run. Shot creation was a big problem.
Dude I'm not sure what you srr talking about. The Thunder have 30 mil and have a ton of young players their bench was solid jawlin williams kenrich williams Cason Wallace ding Isiah Joe and Wiggins they have a ton of bench depth and they are literally the youngest team in the league lol.
Ngl a shai jalen dort Lauri chet Startin lineup is dirty. Only concern tho is Lauri seemed to struggle as a 3rd option he's a player that does need the ball in his hand a bit and needs to get shots up yo be this version of him. Not sure how he looks with roughly 8 less shots a game
No way Utah makes that trade. They would want JDub or Chet plus 4 picks
A lot to consider here, I would sum up my thoughts by saying I personally would not trade for Markkanen. As much as I would love to see what it would look like, I don't think it's worth the risk.
Isaiah Hartenstein.."one looks for sure to happen. Hartenstein looks for sure to sign with the Thunder"...So if Hartenstein signs w/ the Thunder, then you deserve A LOT OF CREDIT for calling it first. Of course; if Hartenstein doesn't sign with OKC, then Thunder fans should take out their frustration & anger on you for falsely raising their expectations.
I will take full responsibility
@@ThunderDigestYT I think we would love having Markkaien on the team. Hartenstein signed. We would have depth in the 4&5 spot, which would be amazing. Even if we don't get them, I look forward to seeing Thunder games next season. The team will likely be even more fun to watch than the last year. The NBA salary cap will ballon over the next few year, it will make it easier for the Thunder to keep the team together. At some point the other guys do have to go. We just be hurting them by not giving them the play time. They would benefit in another team more.
@ThunderDigestYT You called it first, my friend. Full props to you.
As a Jazz fan. I think it would take Jaylen William, Topic, and 4 picks.
Yeah no
@@ThunderDigestYTas a jazz fan I can verify that guy is on drugs. No way we get j dub. Topic plus 4 picks is a good foundation.. especially if we can get non OKC picks
Great video.
I think Markanenn would basically guarantee us the Finals next season. I only hesitate becuase what does he do to Chet and J-Dubs development or long term desire to be with team. Do either of those guys want to be the 4th option? Lauri would be the 2nd best player based on seniority and current skill level. So I guess I’m torn.
I’ve been talking in depth about trading for LM for 2 years, however last year changed one big thing for me. I think in order to get LM we would have to trade Cason, don’t get me wrong that would be ideal for both sides because Cason would instantly be the face of the Jazz in my opinion. I truly think that if he was put in that position he would flourish and has all star potential. The problem is that Cason of the bench to run the second unit is so important to the depth of this team and at this point I think that gets us closer to a chip then LM would simply for rotation issues. So as crazy as it sounds I think that keeping Cason is the better move over trading for LM.
Make an offer…get on your little nba 2K trade hub and make a competitive offer for Lauri.
I was just saying this. We do not need to have a 12 man roster of guys that can produce. Trade the guards
I don't really know how the recently signed rookie restriction works, but if I were to make a trade for Lauri, I would rather trade one of the new rookies that we signed than Cason Wallace, Cason has proved he is going ot be a solid guard in the future. He was getting key minutes and he brought an incredible 3 and D prescense off the bench.
Most likely the rookies are not signed yet but most likely Jazz don't want your rookies since they took three on this draft and three year prior and they have one third year guy too, so lot of "kids" in the team already.
Presti isn't in a hurry. I think cam Johnson is much more likely. But, still don't think either happens. If they do great we will all go crazy, but hartenstein doesn't make us that much better. I say sit tight roll with what we got and take a shot at the deadline.
@@nathanhorath4598 dropping from 1st seed to 5th seed would be disastrous, sam needs to make a move now. The west is only gonna get better
@@t7-nba379let presti cook
Trading ous and all the
rookies we just drafted for Lauri plus 4 picks is worth it
Keep Jones and topic. Trade Caso, Dieng, and Kenrich and 3 firsts
I like it.
He said we
Why would Utah trade him?
Because they realized they can’t get anyone they want to be a contender, so might as well rebuild
Cuz they need a proper rebuild
@@ThunderDigestYT "rebuild" is such a bullshit term. You never give away your best player, or you'll never end your rebuild. The Jazz will never win a title. And it pains me to say that.
Lauri Markannen isn’t going anywhere unless you give up a player that is younger and give up some draft capital. Danny Ainge knows what he has, and won’t give him up cheap.
I’m good with trading all 3 of our rookies and ous paired with 4-5 picks for Lauri
So any of our players?
@@ThunderDigestYT that is the real question. Who has a high ceiling but would be better served with a trade to a situation where he could grow into be a superstar. Lauri was in the same situation with Cleveland. He was the 3rd or 4th option. Getting moved showed he could play at an extremely high level and be a viable option. He’s still young enough that he can fit into the Utah rebuild timeline.
Laurie comes then kiss goodbye to Jdub or Chet in the near future. Not gonna happen!
That’s what I was thinking…
Lauri's getting 40-50 Mil per-year depending on how long, I guarantee
Idk, I’ve heard executives think he’s worth what Mikel Bridges is making
Any plans to go live during free agency
If we make a big signing/trade for sure
@@ThunderDigestYT great day to stream
After this hartenstein report, stay tuned 👀
Here's my offer Topic Osumane Deing Isaiah Joe and 4 first for Lauri
My thing with giving up Wallace is he is a really good defender and I'd give up Joe than an elite defender in Wallace
Yeah but we have good defenders all across our lineup, along with the rooks we brought in. Also the fact you want to already trade Topic is insane
@@ThunderDigestYT It's not that I want to it's that I'm gonna have to and I'm sorry I don't think a guard who's coming off a torn ACL as good as Topic could be is gonna stop from adding a 4th all star who fits the scheme perfectly
Lauri isn’t worth that.
Bro Joe and Cason can’t be running an offense lol
Did you seriously suggest Lauri would sign a deal with Thunder that he would make 48-50 mil in THREE years? 😂😂😂 He is one of the most underpaid guys in the league atm. He would want close to 40 PER year to resign. And even if Thunder traded for him, he will be free agent after one season with that kind of offer 😃
I am using the info I have. Executives believe he would get a deal close to what Mikal Bridges is worth
@ThunderDigestYT
Who are those executives you are talking about and where can I hear that kind of takes? I ask because I'm genuinely curious and haven't heard that kind of idea before.
All the local (Utah) beatwriters and national cap-experts and people from channels like hoopcollective etc. have only spoken of Lauri getting near max to max which in his case would be around 40/year. They compare his deal to Sabonis's deal.
Lauri…. Not Lori.
What you mean? I know its Lauri lol
Give them 2 first round picks and Alex Caruso
No way. We're gonna need Caruso. I'd rather give up 4 first round picks.
@MJ-pk4gh We got enough short little guards, we got enough players that have playoff experience, what we need is 7-foot guards that weigh more than 225 pounds
@@mikielsahagun6054the fact you said “7 ft guards” shows just how little you know about basketball.
@WarrenPuffet the fact that you didn't know that some 7-foot basketball player nowadays has the skills, shooting, and handles of guards half their height shows us you don't know jack about basketball and haven't even watched any basketball nowadays
