It sucks that American McGee proposed a sequel to Alice Madness Returns and EA shot it down (iirc it was due to it being “unlikely to succeed” or whatever) and McGee is now completely done with Alice :/ I like to think Lost in Random (which I definitely recommend btw) took a lot of inspiration from Alice, aesthetically anyway.
I was just reading up on that myself! Definitely sad to see but seems like the series went out on a high note at least. Ooooh I'd forgotten all about that but just put it on the wishlist :)
Looking forward to Your Silent Hill Remake video! It's my first ever play through of the series and god damn this game is creepy AF lol... I'm in that Dark side of the Hospital, great game.
I'm working on it as we speak! I'm in the last area of the game and have been THRILLED with it so far, Maverick :D Lemme know what you think when you get to... well I won't spoil it but the next big area AFTER the hospital!
Alice was a solid game! It kinda gets categorized with Shadows of the Damned in my mind, that late 360-era 3rd person action shooter with a nice aesthetic
I think Crawl went under most peoples' radar, I just happened to find a copy of it from LRG at a used game store some years back and remembered it might be worth featuring :p Castlevania reboot definitely feels a LITTLE dated, but the moment-to-moment action is still fun :) Thanks for watching, as always, Jeff!
@@YourPlayer2 Looks like that Castlevania game just went on sale for 5.99 (I think its the same one) looks like I'll be making an unexpected purchase today - gotta check it out ;-) Thanks again for the recommendation!
Alice looks cool... Another one for the list of games I'll probably never get around to :P Didn't really play any spooky games, unless you count Diablo 4 with its new expansion (I guess it kind of qualifies, certainly gory enough). I am curious about Terrifier 3 that you mentioned, saw the trailer for it yesterday... but I never even heard of this series so will probably try to catch the first two movies somehow before we go watch 3. Saw Smile 2 yesterday which was enjoyable (even though I was predicting so much correctly that my friend joked that I could have written it). Definitely some good jump scares and otherwise entertaining to watch.
Hehehe, I mean *I* certainly didn't get around to it until just recently! Diablo 4 definitely spooky! Pretty sure I only saw Terrifer 2 before this but they're WAY gross and over-the-top. Normally I don't go in for that sort of horror but Art's so weirdly charming and fascinating to watch I couldn't look away XD Ooooh, I wanna see Smile 2 as well since the original definitely rattled me!
Nice little list! Played Misfortune a few years ago and I loved it! ❤ Alice will be my next after the Excavation of Hobs Barrow. Just finished Resident Evil Revelations. The whole months is for spooky and horror games
Many thanks, beer! I'm hoping to wrap it up this month myself but I've been derailed the past several days by the SH2 Remake :p And agreed, all month spookiness!
Well said! Because that's exactly how I feel about Over the Garden Wall- Every time I introduce someone to that mini series they've never heard of it before and like instantly love it :p
For me, Resident Evil Revelations 2's Raid Mode is one of my favorite spooky but not terrifying game. It's the best raid mode in my opinion and perfect for the Steam Deck. I may also play some more Kill it With Fire 2 for some light-hearted spooks. I'd say to also check out the demo for VOIN. A first-person combat game that has some spooky elements and plays great. Can't wait for the full game. Little Misfortune looks really interesting and I can't wait to try it out (right after Y's X...and Sonic and Shadow...and more Metaphor...). As always, thanks for showing games I'd never have found on my own!
Ya know, I beat the original Revelations but never got around to finishing 2 so I'll have to check that out! It's been in my library for a while at this point. I just added VOIN demo to my library and will give it a whirl! As for Metaphor I want to play it but I KNOW that's gonna be a HEAVY time investment so might wait until close to Christmas for that one. And no problem at all, thanks for taking the time to keep watching videos here, Skate :)
Solid recommendations on some very under the radar games. I am definitely going to check out little misfortune as well as their predecessor game fran bow. They seem right up my ally. Dropping my own recommendation as the coffin of andy and leyley. If you are okay with some very adult themes I can't think of a better game for halloween vibes.
Glad to hear it! Little Misfortune is just so polished as a story game it's hard not to love :) I still need to check out Fran Bow! Definitely alright with adult themes and currently have it on the wishlist so might have to check it out in the run up to Halloween :)
Really have to play Alice one day. It's sitting in my library for nearly ten or elven years now. Never got to play it, because I didn't have the chance to play the first game in the series. It's not available in any digital store. And Little Misfortune is quite dark at the end, but still I really liked it.
I'm not even sure WHEN I grabbed this one but glad I finally got around to it! As for the original I played it WAY back in the day and remember very little but if I need some backstory filled in figured I could look up a recap somewhere. Looking forward to finishing Misfortune after I finish up SH2 Remake :)
Hey Josh, I hope you're doing well, I just had a busy week at work with no Time to play but hopefully this weekend I will go back to Silent Hill 2 Remake, I need to know what happened at Neely's Bar. Here in my Country don't celebrate Halloween like you guys in the U.S. but we do celebrate All Saints Day where kids go door to door asking for candy on November 1st, I feel like the tradition is dying because every year I see less and less kids. Wishing you a great weekend. :)
Hope you're good too man! I put in some hours over the weekend since I've been sick unfortunately but hey, good time to catch up on some gaming at least :) Which country are you in again, Miguel? That sounds like a fun tradition though and hope your weekend was good as well!
@@YourPlayer2 Hey Josh, I'm also good, thank you for asking. :) I live in Europe, in a small Country called Portugal, I hope you're feeling better now. :)
I kinda wish AMD or the developers would optimize the Physx feature for their gpus, as it went Open Source a few years ago. If you look at videos of Physx on and off, it really is striking, sort of like Ray Tracing Off and On. And there are still a multitude of games like the Batman Arkham series and of course Alice Madness Returns, that have this feature baked in.
I'm not even sure where you can get the first one so if you find a good source lemme know! Crazy that it was over 20 years ago and I feel positively ancient looking back on it :p

Many thanks, dan! Hope you have fun with it and glad to hear you enjoyed the video :)
