    I grew up with Vinnie, Same little league team, his dad was our mailman, My Mom babysat his sister etc.
    I can tell you all, that for all the natural talent Vinnie has, he has worked very hard to get where he is and to become as great as he is. I can remember as kids needing one more person for a game of some sort and Vinnie was never that one, because he was playing the guitar. He has earned everything he has.

    Petrucci is insane. His knowledge alone of music is truly incredible. Anyone who says he sucks, just try to do what he does. Petrucci is hands down one of the best guitarists around. I'm not out to discredit Vinnie, I love all of his work. Music is about what you like and to say Petrucci is trash is an incredibly ignorant statement.

    I've seen both up close and personal multiple times. Both are awesome. Petrucci is a very technical player, Vinnie is much more 'organic' - blues-based is where it's at brother! Edge - Vinnie. Go Vinman!

    @paraglidermx That's a tough call! My 2 fav guitarists are Vinnie and Petrucci. They have different styles and can't really compare the two. They're both amazing. I will say this though, I do enjoy Vinnie's solo music over any solo music that Petrucci has written.

    Why do people feel the need to debate who's a better shredder? "Petrucci is better, no Moore is!". They're both fantastic musicians and have a style of their own. So why not just shut the hell up and enjoy the music?

  • @yngvaibucketrucci
    @yngvaibucketrucci 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AgentOfSteel84 Theres more of a case for vinnie moore being a typical 80s shredder than petrucci being a typical 90s prog guitarist, the reason he sounds so much like other prog metal bands of recent times is they all try to sound like dream theatre.
    I'm not saying vinnie moore is a typical shredder but petrucci has been much more original and influential in his style

    you see your no different to everyone else, Petrucci has a different style to this guy, so why even compare? and a typical prog guitarist? whats wrong with them? prog guitarists are the ones who have mastered the guitar inside and out, petrucci is a perfect example, i love petrucci because he plays with so much soul, and has an outstanding tone, he's not just a typical shredder like everyone looks at him, to me he is a music master, I love Vinnie's style though, he is the man!

    Petrucci has a different technique that I don't like so much... Vinnie Moore is a great shredder, he was born as musician before Petrucci, with us metal band Vicious Rumors and as soloist in 1986 with Mind's Eye... Vinnie Moore was the first disciple of Yngwie with a personal and original style developed during many years as Vinnie's style! Petrucci is a typical 90s prog guitarist... not a master..

    @hensonandbedges 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeh, petruccis is only good in the first few DT and LTE albums. he really isnt as good as vinnie, imo. vinnie has great licks, his playing has really developed alota soul since the time odyssey album. one of my fave players.
    petrucci lacks soul, its very apparent when u seem him improv live..not that he hasnt comeup with some very soulful playing in the studio. i love dream theater, but i cant take the new shitty albums they are putting out.
