    We have those Sand Grabba mats. They are now sold under the name No Bull Accessories. They are great.
    I actually put a rubber mat on top of the Sand Grabba mats so I can quickly remove 90% of any dirt without having to unclip them.
    Have a great trip to Fraser.

      @@JafffaAdventures I haven't been back for 10 years. I hope Kingfisher bay has been knocked down and turned into a swamp again. I hate the place with a passion. The rest of the island I love - especially when it rains.

    Here in BC Canada they throw salt on the roads in winter at any hint of frost. I use Fluid Film which is too thick to spray on. Also what I do as soon as I can after driving through salt is obviously hose everything off, but also drive down the freeway at high speed in hard rain after it has washed all the salt off the road. That will drench every nook and cranny the hose can't get to.
    Also, you need to protect inside the frame rails. I use an extend hose from Eastwood frame paint, attach it to a section of plumber snake to give more rigidity, and spray the Fluid Film in through the frame holes.

      Really good feedback and tips mate, thanks for sharing. When I lived in Canada (Ontario), I too sprayed down the frame rails. I’ve not done that since living in Australia and I’m really not sure why🤔. Good tips, thanks again mate👍😎

    Good tips mate as we are about to start to build in Hervey Bay. I was somewhat disappointed that you didn't lick your dashboard again LOL. Awesome tips Terry. We’re going to Fraser in April. Some very useful tips. I’m using Lanotec for my underbody protection. Spraying 4 ways under the car is a great tip, didn’t think of that and I like duct taping the side of the mats. I hate tyre shine as we live in rural vic on a farm and the slightest bit of dust just sticks to it and looks like crap. I’ll putting on the tyre shine on at rainbow beach lol thanks again and enjoy Fraser mate.

      Awesome stuff mate, you will love Fraser. Lanotec is great stuff mate, it will serve you well. I hear ya re tyre shine, I do mostly dusty travelling and never use it but for the beach it’s 10/10. Enjoy your trip 👍

    Now that is next level underbody protection! Great vid mate and some really handy tips there 👍 I bought a 4L lanotec UP a few years back and haven't used it properly yet because I haven't really known how to apply it without a gigantic mess on me. I planned to get a to get a pressure sprayer so good to hear thats the go! I don't have a hoist so I guess it's just time to get grotty 🤪 any tips for applying it on the ground besides overalls respirator and a garage creeper (trolley you lie on) my best idea is to get some jack stands and get all 4 wheels off the ground and that might give me an advantage . . . .
    I ritually use a Karcher under body sprayer attachment after a beach run which does a decent job

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome Ben sounds like you are all over this mate. If I was applying it without a hoist I would do exactly as you stated, get it up in the air as best you can to give yourself an advantage. If you are outside I would apply it on a grassy area. More for your own personal comfort than anything else. The grass will take a bit of a shit kicking from overspray but it will bounce back quickly. If you don’t have a decent prevailing wind, a cheap household fan will even help to blow it downstream of your position. Just remember, no matter how many precautions you take, you will still get covered in crap. Thanks for watching mate, I sincerely appreciate it 👍😎

    Just came across your channel Terry and have watched a couple of your videos, I have found quite informative and interesting, thanks.
    I noticed your head unit display is huge.
    Where did you purchase it from?
    Did you install it yourself, if so how difficult was it?
    Has it been reliable and can it take a couple of camera inputs?
    I do have the rubber type mats you have mentioned and would like to know where you got your mats from.

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words mate, I sincerely appreciate it. I trust you find something useful here, stay as long as you like or move onto other better creators, the choice is yours mate😎.
      If you go into the Jafffa Adventures video library and type the word “tesla” into the search bar you will find a couple of videos on the screen. One is an install, and one is a review. Still going strong and I love it. I have one camera input into it but it can take more.
      I can’t recall where I got the mats from mate, they could be Sand Grabba brand, my memory is just not that good, sorry. Have a great day👍😎

  • @stevemoyse6454

    How long before the trip do you spray to let that stuff dry a bit? I find a week with lanotec was needed otherwise it was still really tacky- I used the steel seal , which if let to set properly-the sand does hose off well.

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good to know Steve, thanks for sharing. Three weeks with the Tectyl and it’s pretty good, anything less than that and it’s still pretty tacky. Thanks for watching and sharing mate, I sincerely appreciate it 👍😎

      I just read Ben Martrins comment underneath and learned that karcher have an under body cleaner, I didn’t know they existed & will probably grab one👍,thanks Ben. I also have a karcher attachment that I use - karcher pipe cleaning attachment 7.5m long and $80 at Bunnings-insert into my chassis rails and it’s unbelievable the sand that comes out.

    • @JafffaAdventures

      I find Inox leaves a thick residue, tyre shine comes off easily with mild soap if you want it to. For that reason, TS for me every time. Cheers😎👍

    hey man whats ur opioin on forward facing vs backward facing snorkels. also steel vs plastic? be sick to see a snorkel specific vid

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m not able to do a snorkel specific video only because I have only ever run the Safari snorkel and I have no basis for a comparison. It’s entirely personal opinion, but I don’t like the look of stainless round pipe, it just reminds me of a stove pipe bolted to the side of the car🤮. Regarding the inlet, I prefer forward facing for the Ram effect, but you probably only get a benefit at higher speeds (higher then the velocity of the air entering the snorkel). This is all just supposition however, I have zero empirical evidence supporting my belief. What I am absolutely not a fan of are these stainless snorkels with laser cut logos at the inlet. Some I have seen would cover a full 1/3 of the surface area of the inlet. So if you have a 4” snorkel, you really only have a 2.6” snorkel due to the restrictions at the inlet. Thanks for asking the question mate, cheers👍😎
