Nicely done! I moved here 3 yrs ago from 18 yrs in Atlanta. JUST like you, brother, I was 100% for Charlotte and G-Vegas was a distant second. But I kept coming here to GVL and then to CLT and (with God's immense help and direction), my eyes were opened that Greenville was the place over Charlotte. Thanks for sharing your story, too! I VERY much resonate with that. I grew up in Okla City until I was 16 yrs old and our family moved VERY quickly to Columbia, SC. My folks and sis (and her hubby and teen/adult kids) are still there, but now 2 of the 9 siblings from my sister are now here and 2 others are trying to move here soon.
@interlaken WOW, that is pretty similar! There's no major gripe against Charlotte, but Greenville just feels right. I'm glad that some of your family is nearby now. My family is stuck in their ways, so I doubt they'll make a move anytime soon. Thank you for watching and I appreciate you sharing your story too! Congrats on finding your new home town. I’ve been to Greenville twice for consulting work and loved it. I’m in Colorado right now but looking to move back east, torn between Travelers Rest and Chattanooga.
Thank you for watching! Chattanooga was high up on my list too! Based on where you live and where you're considering moving to, you must really love the mountains!
@ I do, I’m a fairly avid mountain biker. Plus just the natural beauty…..I actually like Greenville more than Chatt, but proximity to family and trails, plus no state income tax, have me leaning toward Chatt….
@johnmccool6875 Yeah, they're both very beautiful. Chattanooga has way higher sales taxes and property taxes, so check into how much that would offset the lack of income taxes. But you can't put a price on proximity to family if you are a driver. If you fly, then that's a different story.
Thank you very much! Yes I never knew I would miss trees so much until I moved to the desert so I agree with you! haha I'm so glad you are enjoying your time here!
