    Sometimes you need engagement . Engagement helps you grow your social media presence . which is one of the most important things in marketing . bigger media presence and audience you have , easier it is to then find and sell to people

    Personally I highly recommend boosting posts when you first open a store or start your digital marking presence for the first time - or are trying to rebrand or get a new image out. I consider it a very short term tool to assist wi brand awareness- but not direct response marketing (obviously). So I have personally had a lot of success growing out online following and I the long wrong that great for getting more attention for events or sales.

    I am a brand new business that has very little footprint so far in my area, so the boost seems to be a great tool to use for that!! I personally take it as, theres a place for everything you just need to figure out where it goes!!!

    I've run the same exact add side by side with boosted and a paid add. And I get much more link clicks for my money on boosted posts vs adds.
    Boosted post i paid .07 cent per link click. Paid add was .56 cents per view content. And the other comments are right you can choose traffic option on boosted posts.

    I don't agree that 'boosting your post doesn't do anything for you'. I've had really good results from boosted posts and you can target the exact location and demographic you want to reach. Also with Facebook ads you can only have a very limited amount of text in the ad, so you can't write much detail in it, whereas with boosted posts you can. You also said that 'boosted posts only allow people to like, comment and share', but when I boost my posts it asks me what objective I'd like to achieve, i.e. send people to my website, connect and chat with potential customers, etc so I'm not sure the info in this video is 100% correct. My main beef with Facebook ads is the extremely small number of characters they allow in the ads, so not sure why people are so against boosted posts really.

    • @Orthopatients

      @@Chris-ob1im To be fair on the uploader, this video was done a year ago, and Facebook have changed things since then to make it easier. It's now even easier than ever to do Facebook Ads with the 'Promote' button on Facebook. Let's not be too hard on the original poster, he's tried his best.

    I did boosting three times and what I found is Facebook will get an ad to the targeted demographic regardless of whether a boosted post gets an engagement or not one pays for reach. While a page post engagement is based on cost per engagement not reach so it's much more economical in the long run.

    This video may have been valid in 2020 when it was recorded, but in 2024, boosting posts is 100% the way to go. Facebook ads are for fools…. For damned fools. Boosting posts are for people who want to actually grow their business. Not get shitty, low intent leads.

  • @Chris-ob1im
    @Chris-ob1im 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is January 2021, and the information in your video is incorrect. You state that with 'boost' you are automatically restricted to 'engagement' i.e. like, share and comments, while in ads you can choose traffic. When you boost a post you have the option to select different dynamics other than 'engagement' , one of them is 'traffic', just like in ads. I wanted to be convinced to use ads instead of boost, but your video fails to do so, and it appears from the comments, that a few people missed this error. In summary, unlike your message in the video, you can absolutely select traffic when boosting a post!
