    I’ll need to watch this a few times but what a lot of useful information pulled together in a way that I can use. You break a complex topic down into an understandable format Tom, and that’s the essence of a good teacher. Thank you.

      Thank you! Colours, specially bright and strong ones can throw us off. A giraffe would work very well I think :)

    Tom! tiny comment -- I really enjoy the little visual jokes you use: the clapping hands, the tiny trumpets, monocle gentleman, etc. :-)

    Many thanks Tom for this special video which is making the process logical and easy to understand. Now it starts to make sense for me I felt lost for some time and I was looking for an a explanation that help me to continue to make progress in my painting. Your graphic representation of each tonal value and structure of painting are fantastic !!! Thank you very, VERY MUCH for this lesson.

    This style of watercolour painting is exactly what I've been working towards. It's so helpful to have a master painter like yourself teaching and guiding me toward my own distinct style. Simplifying everything down to it's essential elements is the key to deep learning. Thank you!!!

      Hi Anne...thanks for a great comment. So pleased it is really helping you! ..and I totally agree, the more simple we can make things the better, and we can really focus on pushing our own style forward out of that!!:)

    Really love the content you're putting out. So I figured I'll just watch ur playlist "Watercolor bites" completely (this is 3rd in the playlist), only to find out this is actually Ep. 7. My guess is lessons 1-5 are further down, but there is no ep. 6? Perhaps you could order the playlist more logically for avid viewers like me to go through all of them. Would be great.. Anywho, keep it up, huge fan!

    Tom do you dampen down your paper before laying the paint as you don’t seem to show it in your videos

    • @tomshepherdartist
      @tomshepherdartist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris, I don’t, no. It’s not a technique I have ever explored to be honest. However, if you’re finding your washes drying very quickly and you’re not getting time to work wet into wet as much as you’d like. I think it would be well worth exploring! T

    Excellent tutorial, thanks Tom. I've never seen this animated whiteboard style of instructional video before. Is that your actual hand, and what software is involved?

    • @tomshepherdartist
      @tomshepherdartist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Peter. You may have seen the earlier videos where I physically wrote things out and sped it up? My handwriting bud so bad plus I made so many mistakes I switched to using a program call VideoScribe...I love it, but not my hand...you can choose different hands and pens, ha!!...apparently a large study found people absorb and retain information significantly better when presented visually like this. ...T
