Join Tom live from Wales, to focus on the 4 most important principles of watercolour painting and how to bring them all together in a painting.
There will be a few quick sketches, tonal exercises and one very quick little colour sketch of an egret to show principles in practice.

I can't wait to see another tutorial with Tom. 🎉🎉🎉
My wife and I were both very impressed with Tom and his presentation. 👏👏
Thank you! Great workshops.
Loved it. Would love to see him more often ❤
Tom is an outstanding expressive artist.
Could you do a podcast with Louise de masi also please 😊
Great workshop thanks. Live the painting behind John too..i read in the comments it's one of yours, John. Great
Agreed that value is more important than color. With opaque paints like oil or acrylic, tints (pastels) are made by adding white. With watercolor, tints are adjusted by more water. Tones are created by adding darks.
Fairly new to watercolor and have tried to emulate this loose style, with questionable success. Tom has explained the basics so well, it is like a eureka moment! A watercolor light bult just went on (in tonal values of course). Thank you for this workshop. It was very inspiring and can't wait to start sloshing some paint with this excellent information.
Glad to hear we’ve helped! We’ve got lots of other useful videos on our channel. Also, highly recommend visiting our website for a more structured library of tutorials and even courses! Thanks
Great workshop! Packed with information and solid teaching. Thank you Tom and thank you John for making this available. John, I kept getting distracted by the gorgeous painting you had as your screen background. Is that your own painting and is there a workshop for that … PLEASE!!
lol. Yes, it was done by me. I do paintings for every class - with a little help from AI :) If you join our patron whatsapp group (it's free if you're a patron), I share them on there for free download. You can then use it as inspiration for your own painting. We had someone paint it today and share on the group!
