The “Neon Moon” is the neon beer signs often found in the country bars. He’s got a table in the back under the neon moon where he goes every night to think absolutely the woman he lost.
My Maria was the song my grandma requested for her funeral never seen a group of mourners crack a smile like that bc “only Nannie would do that” loved that woman miss her so much. Such a unique soul
Great song I can relate this. I lost my husband when he was 42 of a heart attack. I raised my 2 boys on my own and miss him so much. This has so much meaning to me. I'm from New York but my husband was a country boy. The best man I could of met ever. He loved me and my boys more than anything. All I have is good memories of him. Thanks for playing this song. It's been 23 years and I always think of him.
Aw man, nobody can sing like Ronnie Dunn. I have loved this group since I was a child and I will never get sick of playing their music. Whatever mood you're in or whatever trouble you're going through, Brooks and Dunn have a greatest hit for you.
The only argument I can even imagine is Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and they come from such different eras, I'm happy to let both duos stand on their own.
A friend of mine had just lost his wife of 36 years to cancer when this song came out. They had grown up together, married young, and she was only 52 when she died. He dove to the bottom of a whiskey bottle and didn't come up for air for a while. He was a great guy, and even when he was drinking heavily you wouldn't have known it by his words and actions. After a time, we began to date and went to see Brooks and Dunn in concert. We were married for 27 years. Now I've lost him. He died on his 82nd birthday. He bought this CD for me when we were dating, and while we both felt this song, "Brand New Man" was my favorite cut.
I'm sorry you have lost him. He does sound like a good man. ❤ I lost a good man after 32 years together. I've thought of drinking but it just isn't me.
I'm an old rocker and i absolutely love this country song. And i'm not talking after the fact; i loved it when it came out. Even though i am definitely a rocker I'm also from alabama. I spent quite a bit of time in run down bars and honky-tonks in my younger days. Between those bar days and my dad's music i can't help but like me some country too.
During my brief journey into country music, early '90's, I did 3 country concerts but they were big ones. Won tickets to see Reba, was invited by friends in Ford's private box in Detroit and saw Garth and saw Brooks & Dunn. I saw the best although Alan Jackson needed to be in there too. David Lee Murphy and Leeann Womack opened for Brooks & Dunn.
Cow Gurls Don't Cry. They are good friends of Reba McIntyre. She grew up on a wirking ranch. She ride and roped, the whole nine yards. She rode in rodeos. Anyway, when her Daddy died Ronnie wrote the story of it in this song. At the end of the song she comes in and sings. It's such a beautiful, heartbreaking, bittersweet song.
LOL!! "Was this on the radio?" Hell yeah it was. Along with dozens of stellar B&D songs. Red Dirt Road, Ain't No Way to Go, How Long Gone, Lost and Found, She Used to Be Mine, Believe. You could listen all day.
Check out "Red Dirt Road," " Only in America," and their collaboration with Reba "If You See Him, If You See Her." All excellent, and the Reba duet is absolute fire.
I guarantee the more country music u listen to, u will very quickly become a country music fan!! So much great music and messages in county music!! Here's a few of my favorites.... *Tracey Lawrence - Time marches on *Craig Morgan - That's what I love about Sunday *Collin Raye - Love me *The Judds - Grandpa *Tim McGraw - Don't take the girl *George Strait - Check yes or no *Garth Brooks - Unanswered Prayers *Kenny Chesney - There goes my life, The good stuff *Brad Paisley - Whiskey Lullaby feat Alison Krauss
Brooks and Dunn win duo of the year a record breaking 14 times! They are that good! To truly understand how talented they are you must listen to "My Maria", "Cost of Living" and "You Don't Know Me"! 3 of my favorites! Thanks! 🤠
There won't be a music video, but remember the name Garth Brooks? One of the biggest solo country artists in The 90's. He raps on Ain't Goin' Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up).
Yes, you definitely have to listen to both Garth Brooks and Chris Ledoux. Garth Brooks is still alive, but Chris LeDoux sadly passed away years ago. They both have a lot of great music. Sadly, Chris LeDoux passed away before I could see him in concert, but I have seen Garth Brooks in concert and it was beyond amazing. He even came out for like one or two additional encores after the concert. This is back in 2014.
I saw Dwight Yoakum on your video after this song went off. You should definitely look him up and his song, Guitars, Cadillacs and Hillbilly Music!! I think you will really like his style!! Its an upbeat song and his voice is great!
Anything from Gearge Strait is GOLD. Best Love song....Cross My Heart. Cool song, The Chair. Ocean Front Property..... @BP, Gearge Strait ..."Croos My Heart" will go on Your Forever Play List.
Speaking of Copperhead Road!! You have to hear Steve Earle sing it. And talk about a man that didn’t care what Nashville thought about him!! A true rebel. Brooks and Dunn are timeless. They were always duo of the year at awards shows for many seasons. Catch them on one of their rare tours! I just saw them in Las Vegas along with Reba on the same bill. An unforgettable experience!
I love those two guys. The music, the voices, the talent. I miss them as they no longer perform together anymore. This song is amazing. Everything they have done is pure gold. I will leave others to make suggestions for you. Me? I just will listen to everything by them. Thank you for this. Brings so many memories for me.
I was raised on Brooks and Dunn.....I freakin love everything they do!...this is an absolute 💯 go-to song! Gets everybody in the right mood for any night!!!....hell to the yeah!
So glad you reacted to this song!! It's arguably their best one!! I love it. My first listen was back in 1992 on a holiday to Texas....I fell in love with this song.
He's talking about sitting in the back of the bar, missing a list love. But they have neon beer signs in bars. Please watch "Rock my world (Little country girl)". GREAT SONG! Also, please play "Drinkin my Baby goodbye" by: Charlie Daniels Band. Another country song about being in a bar Drinkin you're blues away...o inly much more upbeat because it Charlie.
YES! More 90s country please!!! The classics are the classics for a reason (and I'm a biased 90s kid) but the 90s perfected the country formula. So, so, so many incredible artists and songs.
They are some of the best for sure. FYI there is a beer called Blue Moon and they had a neon sign in a bar I went to years ago that I think of every time I hear this song.😁
I had a friend in high school who made it his mission to introduce me to country music (I grew up outside NYC) and this was one of the first songs I fell in love with.
This is one of my all time favorite songs. The Neon moon is the neon lights of the bar. He lost his love and is reminiscing. He's telling people if you lose your love, there's a barstool ready and waiting
Chris Ledoux is absolutely an amazing artist. I wish he was still alive. UPDATE: I had to update this because I didn’t realize voice to text would get part of it wrong.
I forgot to tell you yesterday Ronnie Dunn usually sings but kicks brooks has some songs were he sang. Theres a song called{ Your going to miss me when im gone}. Theres a few more but thats a good one.
In addition to "My Maria," I'd also suggest "That Ain't No Way to Go" and "Hard Workin Man" and "She Ain't the Cheatin Kind" and "Rock My World" and, finally, sung with Reba McEntire: "If You See Him/If You See Her" as they were all chart toppers.
You got it. And yes, this was definitely one of their biggest hits! I still jam it. Brooks & Dunn are country greats and they have hit after hit. When you hear one of theirs...you know it's them.
"My Maria" and "Brand New Man" are must 💯 I know what you like from watching you so much n brand new man is about how he used to be player , which you always relate to from your past 😂 , but now he's changed from his new love. It's their 1st single from their 1st album with the same name. And it has a video !!
This song always brings me to tears. Back in 2001. I met a guy who asked me to play this song every time I went to my favorite bar. This song lead to a seven year relationship. Sadly it didn’t last and he has since passed away. This song is one of the most bittersweet sweet songs for me. I can still close my eyes and feel his arms around me.
When this came out, I was a manager at Sam Goody music. Store in was a Tuesday and I put this out to play Over the system and sold out of them the 1st day.
BP, I've always liked the Dunn and Brooks song, "Only in America." It speaks to the opportunities available to everyone in the U.S.A.....their best line in the song is "everybody gets a chance, everybody gets to dance."
Bro ive played this song probably over a thousand times through the years at bars and clubs. Its a great song that never fails when its played right. Basically anything brooks and Dunn does well in the bars.
Neon moon. The neon light from the signs in the bar. Back in the day, smoking was allowed in the bars. So it makes me think of all the neon beer signs in the bar, and how the smoke would be like a haze floating up through the light of the signs.
My Maria, She Used to be Mine, Hard Workin Man, Brand New Man, That Ain't No Way To Go, My Next Broken Heart, Lost and Found.... there's so many Brooks and Dunn to love.
My all-time favourite B&D songs . I have seen them in concert over 90 times. This song never fails to bring the house down. Live its even better live . Ronnie Dunn has an awesome voice ..
Ronnie Dunn has one of the most unique, distinctive and expressive voices in music,,,ever!! One of my favourite songs from this duo is "Red Dirt Road" another storytelling number, as is pretty much all of their of their catalogue. Well worth a listen 😉 🙃🐨🇦🇺
You can't go wrong with any of their songs. I like That Ain't No Way To Go. It really shows off Ronny Dunn's vocals. A good duet with Reba McEntire is Have You Seen Him/Have You Seen Her
They did an interview talking about why they didn’t do a music video, basically they wanted the listener to visualize it the way they would perceive it. Amazingly talented dudes, love them.
The “Neon Moon” is the neon beer signs often found in the country bars. He’s got a table in the back under the neon moon where he goes every night to think absolutely the woman he lost.
It's the neon beer sign in a bar, been there and done that many times and still think of her!!!
Of course, BP thinks of a strip club!!
Back in the day it was not just the beer signs, there were all kinds of neon lights in bars.
Oh good. That's what I always thought, but then I thought maybe I just drink too much 😂
There used to be a popular neon sign in bars and some restaurants with an actual full moon and brand name back in the 80s and 90s.
Brooks and Dunn ‘My Maria’ is another B&D much loved, classic.
I love My Maria....
BP will lose his mind over "My Maria". Love that song.
I enjoyed B W Stevenson’s original in the 70’s, but Brooks and Dunn did it so wonderfully in the 90’s that I got to love it all over again.
Agreed!!! My Maria is my fav by this duo! ❤
I like the version that Austin Brown and Tim Foust did in the back yard.
I'll add a vote for My Maria. Love the vocal yodeling going on in that one.
Favorite song is My Maria
Yes. Live at Cain's Ballroom
Top 3 for me
My Maria was the song my grandma requested for her funeral never seen a group of mourners crack a smile like that bc “only Nannie would do that” loved that woman miss her so much. Such a unique soul
Great song I can relate this. I lost my husband when he was 42 of a heart attack. I raised my 2 boys on my own and miss him so much. This has so much meaning to me. His "My Maria" is EPIC!!! His control FLAWLESS!!! This is probably his best song - so powerfull!!!
which was a remake from B. W. Stevenson they sound like the same
When this first came out, you could not turn on your radio without hearing this. He's in a bar lamenting his loss under a NEON moon.
Aw man, nobody can sing like Ronnie Dunn. I have loved this group since I was a child and I will never get sick of playing their music. Whatever mood you're in or whatever trouble you're going through, Brooks and Dunn have a greatest hit for you.
All dancers hit the dance floor when Brooks and Dunn starts playing.
That couples line dance is epic
BROOKS and DUNN are just awesome the voice and the story telling are just fantastic.....more please.......BROOKS and DUNN...
Brooks and Dunn never misses. So glad I grew up listening to them and classic country music. ❤
They used to call the country duo of the year award , the Brooks and Dunn award in the 90s
Killing me, these two are just so.... "Watch your broken dreams dance in and out of the beams of a neon moon.". They are masters of heartbreak songs
This was huge for Brooks and Dunn, arguably Country’s greatest duo.
The only argument I can even imagine is Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and they come from such different eras, I'm happy to let both duos stand on their own.
Waylon and willie are the most legendary id say but b&d arent far behind
Ronnie Dunn is absolutely one of the best voices in music. You should listen to "My Maria!" This song demonstrates the versatility of his voice.
This was on the radio - every five minutes - and we all turned it up EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Travis Tritt “Tell me I was Dreaming” another emotional 90’s country song that was amazing
A friend of mine had just lost his wife of 36 years to cancer when this song came out. They had grown up together, married young, and she was only 52 when she died. So sorry for your loss! 🥰
Brand New Man is one of my favs too!

I'm an old rocker and i absolutely love this country song. And i'm not talking after the fact; i loved it when it came out. Even though i am definitely a rocker I'm also from alabama. Neon Moon is considered one of the best songs to Two-Step Dance to ever!
I was dancing (in my mind) while listening to this!! My old back & knees don’t let me dance anymore!
They were so great in concert! My Maria is one of my favorite songs of theirs 😊
Mine too ❤
I saw them 3 times in concert twice they were with Reba, and Ronnie just belts 'em out while Kix puts on an energetic show!
During my brief journey into country music, early '90's, I did 3 country concerts but they were big ones. He's in a bar crying over his beer and looking at the neon sign.I have listened to this song hundreds of times just love them and you.thanks.

My Maria is fantastic! Ronny Dunn’s vocals are unbelievable!
You could try their break out hit "Brand New Man." That's what made the world fall in love with Brooks and Dunn!
90's Country is still amazing! Ronnie Dunn's voice is incredible and Kix Brook was the perfect match for him. They won so many awards together
They know how to make you visualize a life experience with their words.
I frequented a cowboy bar often back in the day. This song sold a LOT of drinks! The bar owner had a big smile as the whisky flowed.
Check out "Red Dirt Road," " Only in America," and their collaboration with Reba "If You See Him, If You See Her." All excellent, and the Reba duet is absolute fire.

Brooks and Dunn have not ever recorded a song that isn't just FANTASTIC! 👍
A great song. As soon as it came out it became so popular. People still love to slow dance to it
“That Aint No Way To Go” is one of the best songs they ever did.
Crying in the bar reminiscing your lost luv under the neon lights in the bar listening to sad music

Neon moon.....under that light in the bar!! Great!!
My favorite Brools & Dunn song.
One of my favorite Brooks and Dunn songs is Lost and Found. They are great. A very distinctive sound and voice.
I first heard this song at a bar with my parents when I was like 8 😂. It was a jukebox that cost like 25 cents a song. I was born in the 80s
This whole album is incredible. No skips. Great album to play while shooting pool and drinking beer!
Brooks and Dunn You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone, one of the few songs that Kix sings. So good
You got it. And yes, this was definitely one of their biggest hits! I still jam it. Brooks & Dunn are country greats and they have hit after hit. When you hear one of theirs...you know it's them.
This is my all-time favorite song. His voice is impeccable.
That's right! The classic bar with the neon beer lights drinking and trying to forget the lost love. A huge hit for them!
I've seen them twice in concert . Incredible show. At the end of each performance Kix Brooks throws his hat into the audience.
No matter where I’ve gone in this world, Brooks and Dunn always made me feel like I’m back home in Oklahoma.
"My Maria" and "Brand New Man" are must 💯 I know what you like from watching you so much n brand new man is about how he used to be player , which you always relate to from your past 😂 , but now he's changed from his new love.
