Thanks for the video. I was advised to mix cabosil into primer to patch voids and cracks. Have you used it for this as well? I think I'll be using it for epoxying outdoor steps but I've got a lot more research to do beforehand
What is the visual effect if you want to use a clear epoxy? I need to coat a countertop with a 3" attached backsplash but would like it to be as transparent as possible. Thanks for the video, btw!
Any visual effect will be negligible for the amount you need to get it to hang on the backsplash. It will remain very transparent! Thanks for watching Deborah!
Thanks for the comment! You don't have to use a trowel, it just depends on what look you're going for. The wall in this video needed be pretty smooth and we wanted the base coat to show through. The trowel was only way to pull the epoxy that tight and leave a smooth finish. When you put that much cabosil in the epoxy, it won't level out on it's own. The roller would have left too much texture if we hadn't run a trowel over it. Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV!!!
The Cabosil itself is UV stable, but most clear epoxy is not. So, I guess it would depend on what you add it to. We would consider jobs like the one in this video to be interior only. Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks for the comment!! The shiny or luminescent spots you're seeing are fiber optic lights. I'll leave a link to the video where we installed them and one about using fiber optics in concrete countertops. I'm tryin+g so desperately hard to find the answer somewhere anywhere on the web LOL I came across your video but I cannot seem to find one that tells me how to add a thickener to epoxy I'm doing my shower walls without making it cloudy I was going to add silica and then I came across a video that scared the crap out of me and now I can't get it out of my head I don't want to be cloudy cuz it's going to be covering on glitter so it's got to keep it's crystal clear coat is there anything that you can tell me that help me keep that Crystal Clear epoxy look that would cover the glitter without taking away the luster thank you so much in advance for your time I greatly appreciate it have a blessed rest of your day and stay safe :-)
we've never tried cabosil in clear epoxy so we are not sure how much it will cloud it. My guess is, the more you put in, the more it will cloud. only way to know is to do a small test. the other option would be putting the glitter in the epoxy so you would still see it even if it clouds a bit.
I am an avaiation composite fabricator, and i use cabo sil everyday it will cloud up all clear epoxies. There are low sag resins, but i have not used any, but i do know they exist. Try calling smooth- on to see if they have something
Yes, it would depend on the epoxy. Some of them naturally have an amber tint in the resin. The one we're using in this video is a clear epoxy with a little bit white metallic pigment. I'll leave a link to the stuff we were using. @@DecoCreteTV I need to use some epoxy on a window...long story
Sir can I use for in Epoxy Hardener Thickness?
tell me why on the resin in the process of drying with cabosil, wrinkles appear ...😢
Can you use a roller? Does it have to be troweled?

do you know if cabasil yellows?

@@DecoCreteTV thank you. I'm going to try it in polyaspartic, which is uv stable.
@@MarktrustingJesusany update?
Hello, at minute 2.30 onwards you can see that the wall is left with some shiny or luminescent flakes? What product is it?

Does the epoxy harden? Like will this keep the walls in tact and free from holes?
The epoxy does harden, although it is not a structural material.
Thanks for sharing! Did it change the color of the epoxy mix or did you add color to your mix?
There is color in this mix.
Great. 2? See that actually working. Will that Ruin a clear over black? Make it look cloudy?
Any visual effect will be negligible for the amount you need to get it to hang on. It will remain very transparent! Thanks for watching Genifer!
Is it 1/2 of part B or half of total epoxy??? Can we make paint cells on this or will it run off
half of total epoxy. paint cells will run off easily though.
Can u use this on clear epoxy ? Does it stay clear?
Any visual effect will be negligible for the amount you need to get it to hang on to a vertical surface. It will remain very transparent!
@@DecoCreteTV awesome ty
Does it still self-level?
the more you put in, the less it will self level
Will it still cure even with the additive or will it create high points that need to be sanded down and polished?
If thoroughly mixed, it will definitely cure evenly!

@@DecoCreteTV thanks bro 🙏🙏
You made a video and you said you think?
But I don't think that would work if you want your epoxy clear
It would depend on how much you add. But yes not a great option for crystal clear epoxy. Thanks for watching!
Must be trying to sell the stuff. Didnt put near as much on the wall..
