I once fell for that lie that I should be shampooing less often to "train my scalp" to produce less oil. Long story short, I made the Malassezia on my scalp really happy and well fed. I'm never falling for those lies again 😂 Thank you so much, Dr. Dray, for providing us with reliable information for free. You make our lives so much better ❤
I think it really depends on the person's scalp and hair. I was able to train my hair and from washing it every other day now I have been washing it for years twice a week max.
Same! I tried so many times during the pandemic and just made my scalp very unhappy. I’ve made peace now with the idea that I’m just an oily person and need to shampoo everyday lol
I’m relieved to see this - my hair does well with washing twice a week (after training), but my 12 year old daughters hair looks slick with oil the DAY AFTER shampooing, so I’ve been trying to figure out how to help her. She has only been shampooing once a week her whole life, so I was confused why it was so oily after all that once-a-week “training” 🫣
@@veronicaivanova"Training" your scalp only works if your scalp isn't actually oily. Normal skin will produce more oil if it is washed too often. What happens when you wash less often is the scalp returns to its normal oil production. If you truly have an oily scalp due to genetics and hormones, no amount of "training" will change it.
Thank you for the clarification (pun totally intended) on hair washing myths!! There’s sooo many people who will lecture you if you tell them you wash your hair everyday. Including hair stylists, mine has said, “I can’t believe your hair is so healthy even though you wash it everyday!” I believed the myths for years until my dermatologist told me that my dandruff was from oil buildup and I needed to be shampooing everyday. Amazingly everyday washes with good scrubbing of the scalp has made my scalp happy and even reversed my hair loss. I’ve made peace now with the fact that I am just oily (my skin is oily all over) lol
I was skeptical but drugstore shampoo saved my hair. Pantene volume shampoo cleared my oily scalp, and Dove dermacare antidandruff shampoo is creamy enough to hydrate and prevent dandruff.
Thanks, Dr. Dray, for once again addressing the "hair training" myth. My longtime haircutter was a proponent of daily washing. Besides the buildup of sebum and product, she believed that hair is effective at trapping environmental pollutants, dust and allergens which are then transferred to our pillows while we sleep. If you suffer from seasonal allergies and don't want to wash your hair every day, she recommended changing your pillowcase daily. I'm a bit too lazy to follow either of her suggestions (I wash my hair twice a week; but don't use any styling products) but she owned a LEED certified "Green" salon, so I did respect her opinion. Another tip was to rinse the hair very, very thoroughly and massage the scalp even before using the shampoo in order to break up and rinse out as much built up dirt/oil/product as possible first, so that I would, hopefully, only need one application of the very gentle but somewhat pricey shampoo I was using. However, she wouldn't hesitate to go in for a second lather if she felt it was needed. Her philosophy was healthy hair plus a great haircut are foundational, but your hair and scalp aren't healthy if they are dirty and/or damaged by toxic dyes and products.
Oily scalp here! I’ve gone from daily shampoo to every other day, which works until about 6 PM on day 2. Someone gave me a jar of a scalp treatment containing salt. Although I was probably too aggressive the first time I used it, it gave me an appreciation for how clean a scalp can be. Don’t use many hair products - just a spray on conditioner that I use only mid length to the ends. My hair is just too fine to tolerate a heavier conditioner or too much gunk. I continue to use the salty scalp paste twice a month in the summer heat and as needed during the colder months.
@@WasupbiProductions Christophe Robin Cleansing, Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt. Shampoo your hair first, then use this as a second “wash.” Works great, smells wonderful.
I shampoo every day and usually shampoo twice each time then condition the ends (or else my hair strands end up dry). It doesn’t matter what I do, my hair ends up oily after a day. I don’t know if it’s actually reducing the amount of oil that I produce BUT I’ve noticed that my hair is significantly less oily when I shampoo very very gently. I also reduce the amount of hair I lose in the shower. So, for those who have really oily hair, that might help.
I shampoo'd and conditioned everyday for years. My hair and scalp were always dry. I started washing my hair less a few years back and found the frequency that works for me (skipping 1-2 days), and also found a gentle shampoo and hair treatment that don't make me itch. I still get dandruff once in a while, but a clarifying shampoo every couple of weeks really help!
As a woman who has PCOS, I can say definitely hormones can play a part in facial and scalp oiliness. There are drugs you can take that can cut the oiliness right back. I take spiranolactone, which shrinks the cysts and simultaneously took care of hair loss from head and oiliness.
My oily skin returned after menopause with a bang! I absolutely have to shampoo everyday or I will look like an oily, stringy mop! I tried "training" my scalp more than once...NEVER WORKED! I simply follow the advice you give in this video. This is the only thing that works for me. Thank you for the unvarnished truth and keep up the good work, Doc!👍
Yeah I don't understand everything that goes with that, either. All the products on their pillow. Or the constant laundry of bonnets and old t-shirts. All the products rubbing against their face if they wear it down.
I have very oily scalp and thick hair. I stopped using conditioner in the shower. I just use shampoo and a leave in conditioner and serum after shower, my scalp stays clean a little longer… I’d love a video about best shampoos for oily scalps! Great video as always!
I washed my hair every single dingle day from the time I was 15 until I was 61! That was when I finally went in to menopause and my hair and skin turned dry. My hair looked it’s healthiest until I changed to washing it three times per week. In the winter, though, my scalp gets so dry from the cold air that it itches terribly, so as soon as the temps drop, i cut my shampooing down to twice a week un til mid-spring.
Wish I had known this when I was a teenager. These tips could have saved me a lot of aggravation. These days my hair and scalp are much drier. Happy Wednesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a relaxing evening. ❤
I use my clarifying shampoo on the days that I do my hair mask, (applying my hair mask only to my ends, nowhere near my scalp). This has worked well to deep-clean the scalp, while leaving the strands moisturized.
Do you use the mask before, to prepare your strands for the shampoo, or after, to treat the "damage" from the shampoo? I'm uncertain which I should go for and is more sensible.
@@proudtobeme1ashkente I use the No. 3 mask before I shampoo, (dampen hair a bit, then apply & leave on for about 10-20 minutes), then shampoo. My hair is super fine, so this way works best for me. I've heard of people who leave the No. 3 on overnight, then wash in the morning, but I've never tried that.
I've been using the scalp scrubber that you recommended regularly and my scalp feels really good. It feels refreshed and clean with great blood circulation. I also think it helps the volume in my hair. I highly recommend it.
Do you use it in the shower? And if so, do you apply shampoo to your scalp first and then use the massager or do you apply shampoo to the massager first?
I use it in the shower. I get my hair wet, I place my shampoo in four or five different spots on my head, I give it a quick scrub with my fingers to distribute the shampoo, and then I start scrubbing with the scalp scrubber. I also wash my hair twice because I don't wash everyday and I use hair products.
I had a friend tell me I was washing my hair too much, that with my stylist. So I tired for a little over a year to wash once a week. My hair was an oil slick and I wore my hair up all the time it was so uncomfortable sleeping, I hate the feeling. When I finally gave in and washed my hair every day again that friend literally said think god you hair was looking so oily. Bitch you could’ve said something, you didn’t hesitate to criticize my “frequent” washing.
Once in a while, I see influencers pretty much bolster the idea that they only wash their hair once a week or once every two weeks, and I think ‘why do you think that’s such a badge of accomplishment?’ Wash your hair!
Not all hair types can be washed every 2 days, I wash my hair once a week because it’s curly and doesn’t produce oil really quick so it needs time to get oily you should know that all hair types and people’s scalp are different and need different routines. What works for you won’t work for me!
@@memonos I have a lot of straight hair that I work to keep some sort of curl in, and my scalp is on the dry side, so I only wash it every 3-4 days, in normal weather.
@@memonos yes, those influencers- they are using bottles and bottles of dry shampoo in between washes, which is also not good for your hair. In my case dry shampoo cause irritation and itchiness and I hate that feeling when I put my hands in dry shampooed hair. If it's time for dry shampoo I just wash my hair. Usually every other day. I have straight, fine, virgin hair, I'm in my 40s,starting having perimenopause issues and simply cannot get through 3 days of not washing my hair, it almost feels like I haven't shower after long sweaty day...
OMG, thank you! I knew that shampooing every day wasn't a bad thing. I started washing my hair only twice a week, and I noticed my scalp got worse and my hair stopped growing as soon as I made that change. Now im washing it every day, which has helped so much, although I still have a dry scalp. I understand it takes time to get my scalp back to normal.
Bruh, the amount of times I listen to people telling me to not wash my hair often because you’ll produce more oils and overtime you won’t produce as much oils… I cannot believe I listen to them, now I lost so much hair
Love this video. I have a history of both oily skin & hair. Mostly in my DNA. My grandmother on my mom's side had flawless skin. My father like me has very oily hair/scalp. What is puzzling to me is with my oily skin, I have not ever been prone to break out. When I had a cycle, every now & again I would have a breakout. Granted, I worked for Clinique cosmetics when I was in my twenties. Clinique emphasizes exfoliation. And at the time, they utilized salicylic acid, still do. And their clarifying lotion, they also use salicylic acid. This may be the reason, however interested in your expert thought/ opinion. Thank you again Doc. ❤😃
A night scalp shampooing is taking my stress away and creates a healthy environment for the skin of the head 😊❤. Head and shoulders is my go to it helps decently. I found the video extremely helpful and informative 🎉 so kudos to you Doctor Andrea for explaining them to us in a simple to understand way ❤.
@@normakarina8722 @normakarina8722 currently I'm using the head and shoulders the classic one with the antioxidants but here in Greece it doesn't have the zinc pyrithion but piroctone olamine so i don't know. One that i know is that in America it has zinc pyrithion. Also i used helenvita's men's tonic shampoo leaving it for 5 minutes and then rinsed it off and that was Monday-Wednesday-Friday in that pattern. I hope i helped somehow 😊😇🙏💖.
Thank so much for all the good information! Unfortunately I had to find out the hard way that the CG method wouldn't work for my hair, it wasn't cleaning it properly without the SLS, and only washing it once a week was definitely not enough. After trying this for months thinking "It's just a transition." I was so done with it and my hair looked terrible. I still remember my hair at the back felt so sticky and greasy, even after I just shampooed it.
Is it beneficial to first use a dandruff shampoo then a regular shampoo? I love the head and shoulders clinical strength intense itch relief but it smells so bad.
Thank you! I have struggled for years w an oily scalp and very dry coarse wavy hair. Products like Neutrogena TSal shampoo help w my scalp but make my hair crunchy and dry like hay. It is a difficult thing to figure out the right products and routine. You cannot over condition my hair, even when I use a mask/treatment that is thick like pudding!
I’ve used that neutrogena shampoo and it will dry out your hair so I starting using the Kristen ess clarifying shampoo once a week and use native shampoo right after and you’ll feel the difference and than native everyday it has helped my hair alot and it’s back to being healthy look into it maybe it will help 🙂
I’ve tried pretty much all of the salicylic acid shampoos out there and the best one that cleans your scalp but doesn’t dry your hair out is by Selsun Blue. It’s in their Naturals line.
Great video as always ❤️ as a girl who suffers from oily scalp for years I’ve been fed with the lie of “ train your hair so that it doesn’t produce oil” by leaving it month not washing 😅 I comeplelty debunked that myth long time ago and really feel the difference ever since I properly clean my scalp and my hair feels better every time also I haven’t tried any clarifying shampoo yet even though my hair salon recommended me one to buy . I’m thinking about buying the Giovanni tree tea clarifying shampoo can you help guide me if it’s good or bad??
I was a victim of the hair training fad, and used gentle baby shampoo. Half my hair fell out. Now I shampoo with adult shampoo every other day, my scalp isn't itchy, my hair is growing back and looking better than ever.
Tysm if been “training my scalp” by washing it every 3 days when it got oily washing it every 2 days everyone told me it was how often i was washing my hair but that’s when my hormones came so it’s probably that and “training my scalp” did not work so im going back to washing ever 2 days ❤
I used to shampoo everyday until my OI became too strong to do so. Now I use a chair to sit down on shampoo days and my hair is less oily than before. Not at all the change in how often but me developing an autoimmune disease that made me dry vs oily how it was before 😅
My husband, age 66, has to wash his hair every 12 hours or it is greasy. He had taken Accutane for cystic acne years ago. Weekends, when he only washed his hair once daily, made his pillowcase dark, heavier and odorous. I have to use Dawn dish soap to clean it. I was hoping something on this video would help, oh well, maybe the oil is keeping him from becoming grayhaired!
I've got very fine hair that I've started double shampooing (1x with regular and 1x with dandruff shampoo). Still can look pretty greasy within 24 hours😑 Probably would help if it wasn't so long and if I wear it up more frequently. Good shampooing technique is difficult to nail down because my hair gets SO tangly when it's wet and if I just get in there I feel like I'm ratting it up.
Same here with the tangles...and my hair is short, (chin-length). Do you use any kind of leave-in detangler or a wet-brush? Those have helped me get thru tangles, but I still have greasy roots the next morning. I use dry-shampoo so that I can go 2 days between washes, but I've never been able to go any longer.
Consider applying a few drops of coconut oil to your hair, focusing on the ends to the mid-lengths, before you shower. Alternatively, you can apply conditioner to your hair and leave it in while you shampoo your scalp. Additionally, using a scalp massager can help clean your scalp effectively when using shampoo.
I have the unfortunate combination of very oily skin, which I learned recently also is the case for my scalp (because my hair is soooo dry I assumed my scalp was dry, but I was wrong) and very textured coiled fine hair. So while my scalp requires frequent washes, my hair can’t tolerate it and neither can my hands because manipulating my hair hurts my hands, so I have decided on a compromise, 2-3 a week depending on how much time I have or how much my hands hurt that week.
Thanks so much for this video ! Maybe a little suggestion for a video : best sunscreens available in canada. Every time you give a good review I'm so disappointed to see I can't buy it.
THANK YOU. What you’re saying about quantity and thoroughness during the shampooing step makes a ton of sense. I heard your recommendations for ingredients for those with a dandruff-y buildup but for those *without* that problem, are there any ingredients to look for or avoid? (I heard you on the clarifying shampoo 1x a week 👍🙂) If not an ingredient, do we just look for a shampoo/conditioner to target other hair concerns? (Like color treated hair.)
I was told by a hair stylist on TikTok who applied a ton of products to her client’s curly hair that if my scalp starts smelling after one day after washing it, I need to see a doctor. I refused to respond. The scalp needs to be washed everyday, particularly if you live in a hot climate like Houston’s scorching summer. My pillow needs to be clean. Enough said.
Hello! Your videos are so helpful, thank you. Could you review your thoughts on the Canopy shower filter that claims to transform scalp health? I’ve been getting lots of targeted ads…Thank you!
I have fine hair and an oily scalp and I do well with washing every other day. My hair is oily on the second day but I don’t mind because I just throw it up in a ponytail and use that as encouragement to workout lol. Idk if you mentioned it in the video, but seeing as how niacinamide is recommended to help with oiliness on the face would it help the scalp? Do you have any recommendations on hair products that help control oil? Thanks!
Hey, could you do a video for people who have oily skin and have eczema? I cant find any advice on how to deal with this, because in order to deal with being naturally oily, i need to shower more often, but in doing so it irritates my eczema. T-T
Hi Dr Dray, i really hope you see this because I’ve been having scalp issues for years but it’s quite expensive to go get it checked. I have coarse hair with medium density, but a super oily itchy scalp, with hip length dry ends. Can i get away with washing it everyday without damaging the length of my hair? The advices I get are always ‘wash your hair less because you have coarse wavy hair’. but my scalp gets sooo oily and itchy by day 2. I hope you can shed some light on this issue ):
I use a pea-sized amount of shampoo for 2-3 washes on my oily scalp. I stop when I notice the shampoo starting to lather. I opt for an extremely gentle shampoo because my hair is very fine.
How do you feel about people not washing hair everyday? I can't go without qashing hair everyday my scalp gets extreamly oily itchy fleaky and sometimes I get blisters so I don't understand how others don't wash hair everyday
I have pretty dry skin and don’t wash my hair every day. I don’t have any other conditions, so it works for me. I just don’t have a lot of oil on my scalp.
Some people don’t need to. I have friends who can go a whole week and not a single bit of oil! I’m like you though- if I don’t shampoo everyday my scalp gets very irritated and super greasy. Just depends on your skin and hair type
Hi dr day i have a question, would it be wrong to use a different shampoo after using a dandruff shampoo like nizoral? ive heard that it might be counterintuitive because it washes away the ketoconazole.
I believe she’s said in the past you can use a regular shampoo after a dandruff shampoo to get rid of the smell if you don’t like the dandruff shampoo smell but I have the same question.
Hey Dr Dray, so I have ezcema and I reduced it a lot as a result I only get rashes around my chest, neck, and hair. I believe I have oily hair but I don’t know if I actually have oily hair or not. Is the bowl test accurate? I did it and I have oily hair as a result.
Hey! Dr dray. Can you please make a video on jelly masks, wash off masks products that you like and recommend. It would be really helpful for so many of us to feel relaxing doing those masks cause so many of us don’t know the right jelly masks to use on our face. Thank you! 🤍

Ive heard from a trichologist that DHT blockers might help, but I’ve read several studies and seems to me it doesn’t. Do you have any input/thoughts on this.
Thanks so much for this video. I have been trying to follow various no shampoo methods for my greasy but fine hair.. i ended up losing so much hair, i had to see a specialist for hair. Greasy scalp/hair in my case just needs a regular wash but it leaves my hair strands dry and brittle. I ma trying to be more patient with hair masks and conditioners and regular hair cuts too. It aint easy!! But definitely a regular wash of my scalp and good hair treatment for the rest of my hair does help. No shampoo is NoT a good path to take.
I heard that "sodium laureth sulfate" is a chemical that is used in shampoos to make the foaming Lather .and that it causes hair to fall off. Is that true?
Hi! I want to make sure I understand. Sebum from the sebaceous glands in the pores retain moisture in the hair follicle and skin. Sebum along side the amino acids secreted in our sweat with the stratum corneum and skin microbiome is what makes up the acid mantle aka skin moisture barrier?
What are your thoughts on the brand Viori? I’ve been using the unscented shampoo bars and it’s been helping to really cleanse my entire scalp, but I wonder if I use too much lol ?
This video is so helpful as someone whose scalp gets oily so easily! I usually shampoo twice bc when I wash it the first time, it doesn’t lather. But the important thing is to remember everyone is different! My hair stylist says using a clarifying shampoo strips your hair of color-do you know if this is true?! TIA, Dr. Dray😊❤
I would love a video on scalp care for those of us with ultra-dense hair follicles. Even when my hair is only chin length, it becomes almost impossible to get most products onto my scalp. I'm using a scalp brush for shampoo but i dont think I'm getting in there. This density also seems to dramatically effect my hair type, with each inch of growth resulting in my routine becoming ineffective. Help! I do have very hard water, an added product or step is doable if frugal, but getting culligan water softener services is not. I kind of wanted to grow my hair a bit for winter, but my perfect routine is now useless & i may buzz it just to reset.
Do you know if the resurfacing mask from SKKN is any good? I looked at the ingredients and it seems to have some good stuff and fragrance free but not sure if it’s worth the price
I'm menapauseal... and I have only scalp and greasy face to..I'm suffering with contact dermatitis and allergic to Nickel sulfate and lanolin and other chemicals...I'm currently using Ketoconazole shampoo couple times a week...my dermatologist gave me this.. but, I'm still having trouble with oily hair and face..the ends of my hair are dry. Idk what to do anymore.. and my scalp itches to.
Apply ogx coconut oil to the mid-lengths, and ends of your hair before washing it. Do it a few hours in advance so it has time to soak in. Once in the shower, wet the hair, and get as much water out as possible. Wring it out, use a towel. Then apply conditioner. Rub it in-between your hands to coat them (start with little amounts. So you a build up the coverage) don’t run it into the hair. Scrunch, and sandwich your hair in your hands and gently drag them down. (Abbey yung has videos on how to do this!) let that sit for a few minutes, as it helps to break down the remaining oil off the strands, to keep it from getting oily, rinse. Wash as normal (focusing on the scalp) and then condition again if needed. Opting for a hair mask instead of conditioner may be a great option as well! L’Oréal ever pure elastic hair mask, elvive, biolage deep conditioning, or even salon Selectives from dollar tree are great ❤😊

Yearssss ago, I started using Wen, and it initially made my hair look fabulous!!!! Then I started noticing alot of heavy hair loss. I discontinued and haven't had that issue again until I had Covid. Has anyone else had this same issue with Wen?
I’ used Wen several years ago, too, but luckily, I gave up on it because my scalp just didn’t feel clean. However, I had Covid back in August, but didn’t experience hair loss until mid-September! I lost four handfuls of hair while shampooing! I was alarmed, but the next time I washed my hair (two days later), I only lost two handfuls. I’m currently down to one handful of hair lost per wash, and my part is widening! Fortunately, I have a dermatology appointment next week.
Do shampoos that don’t contain SLSs cleanse the scalp as well as the ones that do? I see a lot of people online hating on sodium lauryl sulfate and other similar detergents as being damaging to the hair strands, but is there actually any evidence of that?
No. You need sulfates. That’s what helps cleanse the scalp and remove adequate buildup! People that are hating on it read articles in 2011 that it causes hair loss, and haven’t come to their senses yet. Washing your hair damages it. That’s just life. Water damages your hair. That’s life. (Water makes it weak, the act of scrubbing can cause breakage) it’s how we go about reducing it that counts.

Same shampoo make my scalp feel dry so l shampoo my hair every 3-4 days only...
I have always noticed that my skin and hair gets much more oily when I don't get good sleep. I'm feeling so validated right now!
Not the dr dre I was looking for, but glad I stumbled across this. Very informative!
As a woman who has PCOS, I can say definitely hormones can play a part in facial and scalp oiliness. There are drugs you can take that can cut the oiliness right back. I take spiranolactone, which shrinks the cysts and simultaneously took care of hair loss from head and oiliness.
How long have you taken this? I also have PCOS and very oily fine hair. Looking for something to help with that and more symptoms lol
Valuable info, especially with how many people don’t want to wash their hair for the sake of “hair training” 😅
YES! I've tried "training" my hair several times...just a waste of dry shampoo. :)
I know Dr. Sam Ellis did a video on hair myths including hair training.
Why not just the conditioner and skip the other 2?
@@21972012145525maybe they tried just using conditioner for a while, and that’s how they found out they liked the leave-in and serum better?

What shampoo is it? And which shampoo you use on the other days?
Do you use the mask before, to prepare your strands for the shampoo, or after, to treat the "damage" from the shampoo? I'm uncertain which I should go for and is more sensible.
@@proudtobeme1ashkente I use the No. 3 mask before I shampoo, (dampen hair a bit, then apply & leave on for about 10-20 minutes), then shampoo. My hair is super fine, so this way works best for me. I've heard of people who leave the No. 3 on overnight, then wash in the morning, but I've never tried that.
How often should thick, curly hair be washed, in your opinion?
@@AislingDonohoe I don't have good advice for you, as my hair is the polar opposite. I envy your thick curls & wish you luck getting an answer!
@@irisk934 thanks!
Where can I get a scalp scrubber ?
Dr. Dray your hair is looking particularly amazing here 😍
I had a friend tell me I was washing my hair too much, that with my stylist.
You're looking really good! Happy to see it
The shampoo brush makes all the difference in enjoy the experience.

Thank you!! Any tips for frizzy hair? My seborrheic dermatitis won't let me get treatments like keratina in an efficient way😢
Thank so much for all the good information!
I don’t know what does Head&shoulder shampoo have but it literally takes at least 95% of my dandruff. I also usually use after that a conditioner.
Is it beneficial to first use a dandruff shampoo then a regular shampoo? I love the head and shoulders clinical strength intense itch relief but it smells so bad.
That doesn't make sense, ur should be the opposite

She likes the dermacare anti dandruff one by dove nd says it’s less drying
Same. My hair started coming out in clumps but once I started washing it daily again, I stopped losing it and started seeing new growth.
Not at all the change in how often but me developing an autoimmune disease that made me dry vs oily how it was before 😅
Happy Wednesday, Dr. Dray ❤
Morning!
Haircut/trim?
Same here with the tangles...and my hair is short, (chin-length). Do you use any kind of leave-in detangler or a wet-brush? Those have helped me get thru tangles, but I still have greasy roots the next morning. I use dry-shampoo so that I can go 2 days between washes, but I've never been able to go any longer.
do you feel like the leave in is contributing to the oily roots?@@JaxBachtle

Unfortunately, most of your recommandations (especially those that are affordable) aren't available here due to very strict regulations. Every time you give a good review I'm so disappointed to see I can't buy it.
Ok, this comment needs to be seen. I really need that video too !
In my case, I noticed significant improvement once I quit eating lactose and in general reduced eating milk products.
Can you recommend what kind of hair mask for oily scalp and dry ends?
thanks, dr, but how do you get your hair to be so shiny?! have you done a video on this?

I was told by a hair stylist on TikTok who applied a ton of products to her client’s curly hair that if my scalp starts smelling after one day after washing it, I need to see a doctor. I refused to respond. The scalp needs to be washed everyday, particularly if you live in a hot climate like Houston’s scorching summer. My pillow needs to be clean. Enough said.
Hello! Your videos are so helpful, thank you. Could you review your thoughts on the Canopy shower filter that claims to transform scalp health? I’ve been getting lots of targeted ads…Thank you!
Does consuming vitamin A help reduce oiliness?
I have fine hair and an oily scalp and I do well with washing every other day. My hair is oily on the second day but I don’t mind because I just throw it up in a ponytail and use that as encouragement to workout lol. Idk if you mentioned it in the video, but seeing as how niacinamide is recommended to help with oiliness on the face would it help the scalp? Do you have any recommendations on hair products that help control oil? Thanks!
What is your opinion about hair scrub products? I'm contemplating if they are good or bad for my fine greasy hair

What constitutes using less shampoo? You said 2 teaspoons on the second application. Is that conservative?
What about tea tree oil?is it really good for an oily scalp?
Hey, could you do a video for people who have oily skin and have eczema? I cant find any advice on how to deal with this, because in order to deal with being naturally oily, i need to shower more often, but in doing so it irritates my eczema. T-T
The handheld brushes feel so nice! 😊
She has said it is going to depend on the individual and their scalp/hair needs.

Actually you have so beautiful hair!!!!
Hey Dr Dray, so I have ezcema and I reduced it a lot as a result I only get rashes around my chest, neck, and hair. I believe I have oily hair but I don’t know if I actually have oily hair or not. Is the bowl test accurate? I did it and I have oily hair as a result.

Dr Dray, can you do an episode on how to treat dry scalp?
I'm an oily girl but never had dandruff.
I have thick hair and the shorter it is the more dense it becomes. May want to grow your hair out to shoulder length.

It’s very common with Wen, I think there was even a class action suit for that. Probably due to buildup bc it’s not really a shampoo
@@stephernoodleYou are right-there IS a class action suit against the makers of Wen, because so many people had heavy hair loss.
