When tightening the oil filter assembly, tighten the 4 bolts in the following order: upper left, lower right, then the other 2 in a diagonal fashion.
Make sure the high pressure oil line is installed without tension.
Torque specs
4x oil filter bracket bolts: 11 ft-lb (15 Nm) + an additional 1/4 turn. Always replace these bolts since they are torque to yield "stretch" bolts. high pressure oil line union: 16 ft-lb (22 Nm)
2x high pressure EGR line bolts: 15 ft-lb (20 Nm)
oil dipstick bolt: 6 ft-lb (8 Nm)
T30 throttle and EGR bolts: 6 ft-lb (8Nm)

Thanks for the great detailed illustration video. My housing has sprung a water leak. I'm tackling this task tomorrow. It looks like I may get away with replacing seals only, however with the amount of work it takes I think I will replace the housing.

Well mine wasn’t exactly like this video. Didn’t have the rubber tube after the throttle body housing just went into the inner cooler. Got it got it replaced.. thanks for video.

As for filling the coolant back in not really just put it in the expansion Bottle let the car reach to temperature wait for fan to kick in then re-top the coolant and your good to go. But please be advised the radiator fan take a life time to come on. So what I do is I fill the coolant all the way to the top and go for a drive to get the temp up. Then re top it up hope that helps

What brand is the dealer part
To US spec Passat TDI owners watching this video: don't. LOL! No, but seriously check one of the other videos from the States, as there is a LOT more you have to do on US spec Passats, the intercooler needs to come off, as it blocks the housing bolts on the passenger side, and there are other things you will need to do. This is a GREAT video for Euro spec Passats, but only partially applies to US spec cars...

Do want to say I literally just did this myself in my garage with a 2014 NMS Passat TDI - removed intercooler, the air box and tube attached to the bumper, and undid a few plugs. I was able to get it replaced with just that
currently doing a 2012 vw TDI, the amount of space is so frustrating, the jetta uses a metal oil filter housing along with a different oil cooler that has an inlet and outlet tube

2 questions: Did you have to drain the oil first, and do you know where I can find a repair manual for this car? I can't seem to find any for the 2014 passat tdi.
No I didnt have to drain the oil. As for a manual best just go to the agents they should have one. Or if your in the uk go to TPS Trade parts specialist
How much does it cost to do this job
Labour around about £100
The part will cost about £200 from main agents, or £100 from eBay
NOTE THE ONES FROM EBAY ARE GOOD BUT NOT GOOD AS MAIN DEALER PARTS

I am unable to purchase this piece without a new oil cooler in the US. Total price for entire assembly for me was USD $400, installing DIY. Car started to leak coolant, one of coolant ports broke and caused the gasket to shift away, creating the leak. Thanks for the video.
VW dealership just quoted me almost $1,900.00 for the job! 🤦🏻♀️ I’m exploring other options to get it done!

Will this cause oil in the antifreeze or is it a head gasket ? Standard transmission
Think mine or broken as oil in the coolant tank. And loosing coolant. Engine jot overheating or any froth? Does it sound like oil cooler issue?
Its possible it's just the housing. Or oil cooler

Oil cooler screws are 11nm and filter housing to cylinder block are 15nm +90 degrees (with new screws)
