    Shader's nodes are displayed for half a second... a minute or two explaining that would have been cool :/

    I can't quite tell what each of the nodes are for the texture. Noob at texturing. I have the various image textures( color, roughness, height) But I can't quite see what those nodes are that go into the Base Color- coming from what I am assuming is your base image and then the roughness mixing ? Can someone clarify? Or get a clearer image of this node set up?

    thank you so much for this tutorial. it's amazing how it's still relevant after all the updates. funny how you were making a hanging rope as a joke at the end of the video but that's the reason I want to learn to make a rope. to be fair its going to be on a poster about protests in our country Iran and spreading awareness regarding the executions.

    If you want to have a more smooth curve you can use a path instead of a biezer curve, do everything exactly the same and you should achieve it

      just go to your blender preferences tab, activate the node wrangler add-on
      then go to the shading tab, select the rope raw material and hit CTRL+Shift+T and select all the materials (the add-on will automatically connect all of them)
      et voilà !

    Anyone know how to make the rope not blue? Also how do you drag the Bézier curve?

      rope not blue - After add modifiers, turn off the face orientation.
      curve- Go to edit mode then press E after clicking on a vertex to shape the curve.(Basically use the tangents.)

    I followed step by step, but when I added the screw modifier , only 3 of the 4 circles were twisted. One of them extruded out into a straight pipe.

      I found the solution you have to add the screw modifier while in edit mode not object mode

      @@stylie473joker5 not sure what I did wrong in redoing this tutorial, but when I add the array modifier now, it makes progressively larger circles. Each being about 50% larger than the previous. So I have four different sized circles now. Baffling.

      @@basspig Had this issue too cause they are following the axis you added so when i reduced the axis size to about my original circle's size they are the same hope that helps

      I made it, do it in object mode has no effect, you have to do the move operation in edit mode.

    i can not make this work for the life of me.
    when i objoct offset i get one big circle that dosn't move then i found out that i can use the empty axes to move the big circle but when i try and make the screw 2.5m just like in the video its WAY to short and the circles are all the same scale that i see in the video 0.173 so i don't understand why mine becomes so short and when i try to rotate the circle 45 degrees one of the ropes just becomes one big cylinder and the others just distort.
    when i added a screw and try to add more lines the rope moves away and the axes move with the curve

      no problem, i mean extruding or moving the curve and shaping it the way you want your rope to look like. there's lot of tutorials about how to work with curves if you are a beginner.

      you can just parent the empty and the circle and leave the curve as a seperate object and then add the curve modifier to the circle under screw modifier and should work
