    Thanks for sharing. Quality and very in-depth review. Nice case for its price. Well done Phanteks!

    Great review thank you. Definitely helped me decided this was the right case for more build.
    Edit: An hour later I found they released a new P400A with much better air flow and 3 pre installed RGB fans. I like the look of the sold front panel more but the mesh has way better airflow plus you get to the the 3 RGB fans. The newer P400A doesn't include the the RGB strip or the light at the bottom front of the case. I suppose that's the trade off for the 3 RGB fans. I think I gotta go with the P400A. The P500A also looks awesome but a it's a good bit more expensive. Overall really surprised by how awesome Phanteks budget cases are.

      This is Isaiah (the other reviewer :) ). I love phanteks and I recommend them to everyone as they are my go to brand for cases. Not saying other brands don't have an appeal, its just phanteks has what I look for in cases.

    Getting this case next month for my first gaming pc. I went with the B450 Gaming Plus motherboard from MSI That has that red and black theme and its going to look awesome. I will also replace the case fans for RBG fans, might put one on the back and maybe three on front.

    hi @OverclockersClub , how did u install the RGB? mine 1 doesnt work. could u show it pls? thx

      The manual shows the connections - if you don't have a manual, you can download it from the Phanteks website for your case. There is a 12V connection to supply the power to the RGB controller, and there is a connection for the LED strip.

    An aio cooler won't fit up top as the motherboard gets in the way. You have to use the front side for an aio cooler.

    Can you use M.2 NVME drives on this case?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That style of drive is typically connected directly to the motherboard - so the case does not have or need any special provisions for that kind of SSD.

    Should I buy this or the meshify c mini?

      I'm wondering the same thing :D
      Although i guess there are "pros'n cons" of what you'd get/receive.
      As i know on P400S is a smoked screen (tempered glass) a little bit, when on meshy is heavily tinted and you will need loads of RGB lighting and stripes to even see the interior.
      Here on P400S you get the RGB stripes included when on Meshy you dont.
      What is more is that the glass here on P400 is only around with a little black paste which can be scratched on apart on the Meshy, you have the cover wash all around it and on the screws so you dont scracth the surface.
      Aswell on P400 the case breathes only on the sides in the front of the chasis, cuz the front is kinda blocked apart on the Meshy C, where the mesh is fully covered the front side of the case, so there is more airflow, a direct one and the PC can actually breathe.
      On the Meshy C is a lot better the cable managment than on Phanteks case ...
      So i'm kinda in between this two.
      I'm thinking of Meshy cuz it breathes more and these stuff, but that heavy tint kinda bothers me, and there is no RGB stripe :P

I can't make any sense out of that part of your comment, I don't know what you were trying to say and I also can't tell which case you were talking about in that statement. would appreciate it if you could clear that up for me.

      On meshify there are pads around the corners, so you dont scratch the TG (tempered glass) .. while on the phanetx p400 are not, that seems morelikely you can bruise it or damage it otherwise (like when you open or close the case, etc)

    how do you guys mount extra 3.5 inch hard drives on this case, it has only 2 slots! still need to mount another one :/

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a limitation, so you could convert the extra drive to solid state drive but that may not be practical. Sometimes you can put the drive in the space behind power supply. I would try to find an extra hard drive tray. It won't really be secured to anything and of course that is not the ideal way, but it is better than just stuffing a loose drive back there. You need to keep any exposed circuitry on the back of the 3.5" drive from making contact with anything, so that is why it needs to mounted to a tray.

    • @JayzBeerz
      @JayzBeerz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      those 4 red slots on the inside are for 3.5 inch drives. this case can hold 6 x 3.5 inch drives

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JayzBeerz is correct - I forgot that you can use PH-HDDKT_02 to mount additional 3.5" drives. See page 22 of the user's manual.

      i scavenged an old dell pc case, tore apart one of those super green plastic hard drives tray and secured it to the inside of the phantek's using a screw and zippie ties, now the 3 tb toshiba hard drive is resting on it inside the case's floor, it's not very pretty but it might be temporary until i get another cpu case, i ditched my old loved cooler master haf 912 cause the 240mm radiator cooler from corsair wouldn't fit :(

    Nice case but I thought the quality of the case and slot screws could be better.

    This case is a horror to front airflow, wanna oc forget it! RGB case without rgb fans included is a joke and no space for watercooling on top because the mainboard is in the way! Seeing cheaper cases doing much better on front airflow!

    Measuring pc case temp.. lol... lol... lol.... IRRELEVANT. AMBIENT TEMPS FOLKS.. WHO KNOWS HIS TEMP INSIDE HIS HOME.. THIS IS A JOKE.

      I try to keep the room around 23 to 24C which is comfortable for most people. The point is to see the temperature differential between idle and a mild overclock. The results indicate (generally) how well air flows through the case.
