UPDATE: Google just changed how GA4 tags are managed in Google Tag Manager. GA4 configuration tag is no longer available. Learn more about the update here th-cam.com/video/1POi1BZxXwg/w-d-xo.html
I can't explain how happy I am today. With your guidance, I finally qualified the LinkedIn skill test. I had been trying it for 3 yrs approx. Failed many times. But the day I started watching your channel and the way you clear things, concepts, and the rest of the things I could understand GA and GTM properly. You are a gem. You are amazing. Full credits to you.
Thanks. Finally I got it in terms of custom dimensions! You explain very well. Germans could not do that very well. So, I watched it in English. So glad.
What about standard e-commerce event parameters like item_list_name, item_brand, etc.? How can I use it in reports? I think it's interesting for everyone.
That was a great video! Can you Please create an Updated video for GA4 on: How to Track and Create: Events, Tags, Variables for Affiliate Marketing Links? especially when you have to track Different Affiliate links and the Number of times they were clicked in? Love your channel!
What would you suggest if in the GA4 debugger I can SEE the purchase event occur, AND i can see all "Event > parameter" and "Items > Product Name" details being passed from the dataLayer, but the item name isn't showing in my Ecommerce reports?
Can we somehow utilize those parameters, example put it into the filters? Otherwise it is totaly usless and there is no need to send any parameters along with the event
Hey! Great video as always. I have a question regarding the "optimal setup" or best practices regarding events and/or parameters. If we have an event with three possible outcomes: a, b or c. Would it be better to set up one event and specify there 3 parameters or would it be better to simply set up 3 separate events for each outcome? Thanks !
Thanks! What about parameters inside custom events? For example, if I send currency or value to a custom event (not a purchase) like a subscription do I need to register it as a custom dimension or it will work?
Hi!! Thanks for this content, I find it very interesting and useful for all marketers. One question, I am looking at a website and I see that there are many events that I don't know when they are triggered and how they were set up. Inside GA4 when you click on an event the report of this event appears but not when it is triggered or how to modify it. I know that in the debug view you can see when the events are triggered but only if you test them in real time on your website. Is there any way to modify/remove or at least see when these events are triggered in GA4?
But should I better choose Google Events or Google Analytics Configuration in Google Tag Manager to see the data in Analytics interface? Or Did I get it right, you said I could choose which one I want to use? You only demonstrated the Google Analytics configuration tab with purchase_view that appeared on Debug view in Google Analytics. What's the difference between the google analtyts events and configuration tab? Where can I see data from the events tab? And can you explain how I can activate E-Commerce in analytics 4 to see date in the e-commerce report?
You need to choose both. Event tag is for events, config tag is for basic installation. To view parameters in ga4, you need to either check built-in dimensions or register cuatom dimensions. There are many things to learn about ga4 here and I explain them in my ga4 course (including purchase/ecommerce tracking) www.analyticsmania.com/courses/google-analytics-4-course/
Hey, Julius! I've created a few custom dimensions but all of them, even those that I created because it was a parameter of an event, I can't see those values in the user activity report. How can I see the custom dimensions values in the user activity report when I click in an event?

A very useful video, it helped me learn the tools of Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
Dude, well done!
What about standard e-commerce event parameters like item_list_name, item_brand, etc.? How can I use it in reports? I think it's interesting for everyone.
By using the default dimensions such as Item name, Item brand. I am not sure I understand the question

good question

This video saved me so much headache haha awesome thanks
Great explainer!!!
Always excellent information, explained well. Thank you!
Do you know what GA4 defines as a "smart tv" I have had a lot more than expected to appear in my reports but don't know quite what it means?

You don't need to register them
Fantastic video. UA is so much better than GA4...

Hey, Julius!
I've created a few custom dimensions but all of them, even those that I created because it was a parameter of an event, I can't see those values in the user activity report.
How can I see the custom dimensions values in the user activity report when I click in an event?
Hi Pedro, did you manage to visualize? If so, how? I am having the same problem.
@@renatamariadossantos1179 I could not 😮💨
Good video, but suggest you add, "with GTM" or something similar to your video title to avoid wasting people's time. Keep up the good work.
Gtag was also mentioned in the video
Make a video on Facebook conversion tracking
I have setup GA4 but the revenue is not tracking under total revenue. It is tracking under Conversion. Could you please help me to fix it?
Sounds like either your data layer is incorrect or you are not sending parameters correctly via gtm
You explained how to add the event but how can I see all the parameters from this event?! where is the second video?! thanks
Register custom dimensions
