On top left corner there is a water bottle. I dip the foundation brush in water to wash off paint, but I don't use water to help blending. I don't put any water on the big mop brush until finishing the background.
Use paint retardant and you can blend till the cows come home. There are a MILLION of them on the market, thick gel, thin gel, iridescent, glossy, matte, floetrol (a small amount, not as much they use to pour)

It's awesome idea to use make up brush as mop or blending brush but how to clean that brush post use plz tell that
I clean the brushes with water and hands. Sometimes I add hand soap to help washing.

Why two layers?
Add some water to blend. Keep adding colours is a waste
