I like watching your video, informative and good introduction from seletar airport history, the aircraft interior, flight path with nice scenery etc. Must try taking a flight from Singapore Seletar airport to KL.❤
public transport wise, KLIA definitely win. however, when i go Malaysia, i essentially grab everywhere. so grabbing from subang is definitely faster than KLIA. ultimately, it is good to have two options for different people to pick the one that cater to them more. the big issue with seletar is definitely the lack of ILS that makes landing in low visibility not possible (my flight is divert to senai before). even though malaysia and singapore joint announce a gps based system to be used, there is still no futher updates other than "still in the study"
A lot depends on your end destination in KL. That is, which airport is closer to where you want to go, plus it's convenience of connectivity and relative cost.
I’ll choose to arrive at Subang Aziz Airport if I’m going to be mainly in the PJ, Shah Alam and Subang areas. If going to KLCC and surrounding areas, KLIA is better as there’s the KLIAexpress rail link, which makes a huge difference travelling into city.
@@lingth I think there wasn't much of a choice regarding roads. Previously there was a rail link but due to low demand that was stopped. Hopefully with the introduction of more airlines coming to Subang and demand increasing, they may reinstate the rail service to KL Sentral.
I believe if I left the airport earlier it wouldn’t have been so bad. There were a few instances along the way when traffic slowed down. It was around lunchtime so maybe that was the reason.
If your concern is the long walk in KLIA, you either have health issues or you have too many luggage! Grab is certainly cheaper when taken from Subang. But, if you are counting the ~MYR$20 savings. You might as well take the bus at KLIA. Which saves even more. Unless, your destination is
Personally, in spite of my age and health, the walk at KLIA was never a problem to me and nor am I in the habit of having too much luggage. Or were you referring to somebody else? As for the second part of your comment, yes I would agree with you. Thank you.
Yes, without the train service getting to the downtown area can be slow. Hopefully when the number of passengers increase they will reinstate the train service.
Wow ,From Singapore is Seletar Airport, far than Changi Airport ? Got MRT to Seletar Airport? How much the air ticket ? Firefly also can fly back to Seletar Singapore ?
It depends where you live, for those living in the north, Seletar will be closer. There's no MRT to Seletar airpot. The air ticket was S$142 including seat selection. Yes, you can also fly back to Seletar Singapore or you can take Scoot back to Changi from Subang.
thanks for vlogging down the whole process, very informative.
You're welcome thank you for your comment 🙂

There's definitely a lot less walking in Subang and Seletar😊 congratulations on your 50th year of flying❤
Yes, that's a good point, there was definitely much less walking. Thank you so much.

Yes you’re right. I forgot about the low visibility issue at Seletar.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Very informative and interesting. Thanks 👍
Thank you so much, glad to hear that. 🙂

Yes, overall I enjoyed it
Thanks for your informative video. Are there any car rental companies operating at Subang Airport?
Yes, Hertz, Avis, Sixt to name but a few.
Actually I love the Subang airport...5 mins drive from my house...definitely not crowded...relax atmosphere...I fly everywhere from here😂😂😂
Yes, it’s a lovely airport
@@DonGurugay n mind u Don...parking is dirt cheap...bring your car n park it n come back d next day...no problem 😄 🤣 😂
Oh I see ☺️
Thank you for the informative vlog. May I ask how long before flight must we check in at Seletar & Subang?
It’s 30 minutes before departure at Seletar and I believe 45 minutes before departure at Subang.
However please double check this.
nice video Don👍👍
Thank you so much 😊
Any bus/train/Let from Subang airport to KL central? If by Grab how much will it cost?
As I mentioned in the video there is only the 772 bus but that comes once an hour.
My Grab costs me about RM 50 that day.
What is the air flight cost from Singapore to KL? Are there taxis from Subang Airport to KL City?
I paid S$142 including seat selection.
Yes there are taxis available.
Definitely with fly into KL / PJ via Subang. Do a car hire and do a road trip back to SG via Port Klang, Malacca
That sounds an interesting journey, hope you enjoy it.
Is the propeller plane less noisy than the jet airplane like the B737?
In fact it’s slightly noisier than a jet especially if you take a seat like mine (next to the propeller)
Why does 25km to town ..take 60mins?? Was the car travelling at 25km/h??
At times much slower, we hit three traffic jams at that hour.
@@DonGurugay oh my that's so bad.. no new roads? Rapid rail??
@@lingth I think there wasn't much of a choice regarding roads. Previously there was a rail link but due to low demand that was stopped. Hopefully with the introduction of more airlines coming to Subang and demand increasing, they may reinstate the rail service to KL Sentral.
Is there a car rental company in Subang Airport?
Yes, Sixt, Avis and Hertz to name a few.
Hi, Sir. What is the damages from Seletar to Subang airport?
Including my choice of seat the fare was S$142.00.
Is it very noisy in the plane? I presume it will be due to the props
Good question. Yes especially when I sat next to the props!
Which company does security at this airport?
So sorry, I didn’t notice which one.
Were you stuck in a traffic jam for your taxi ride from Subang airport?
Yes in fact I was. It was around noon at the time.
How much was the ticket price sir?
Hi, Price was S$142 including the seat charge.
Minute 7:45 during take off i can see JB city skyline
Yes, that's right, you can see the JB city skyline.
Was the 1 hour taken to reach KL central the norm? Or was it a one-off incident such as traffic accident?
I believe if I left the airport earlier it wouldn’t have been so bad. There were a few instances along the way when traffic slowed down. It was around lunchtime so maybe that was the reason.
@@DonGurugayThanks for the details, it’s helpful. I will be taking Firefly to KL this Dec, so hoping traffic will be better from Subang 😅
You’re welcome. Hope you have a great flight.
Subang of course, nearer to PJ
Okay, thank you ☺️

Btw I don't like subsng airport because the train service Is not available so I choose klia Is better
Yes, without the train service getting to the downtown area can be slow.
Hopefully when the number of passengers increase they will reinstate the train service.
I think I will choose KLIA
Yes until there is a direct rail link from Subang, KLIA is a better choice most times.
10:10 view of Melaka city
Yes, that would be right, thank you.

I will definitely choose Firefly if they can match the Airasia ticket price.
Yes, but AirAsia seems to be very competitive on prices.
ATR 72-500......😢
You don’t like the plane? ☺️
Not a big deal but it is underpowered by Airbus. Also strictly cable or push rod controls. A cheaper aircraft compared to the Q400 or equivalent
I see, thank you for your comments.
I saw no passport control in Seletar departure hall ?
Yes, there was. It was in between the check in counters and Mr Teh Tarek.
Taking videos of immigration counters is not allowed.
