I am fortunate enough to live in Mid Wales and had 16 years of riding my motorcycles over those roads from 1996 to 2012. Still drive my car on those routes.
Love this route. We (wife riding pillion) and I ride this at least once a year, from Cannock to Lake Vynwy, ride with lake to our left, turning up the single track road as you did but go right at the T junction where you went left to the viewpoint at the very top (you missed a treat that was awaiting you there), admire the views (on a clear day) then we pick up your route to the bottom and stop overnight in Dinas Mawddwy at the Y Llew Coch (Red Lion) pub. Next morning back up to the top (hairpin scary two up) and go down to Bala before returning to Cannock via the Berwyns. Both of us in our 70's and on our 58 year old Velocette Venom Clubmans along with a few mates on late 1920's and 1930's Sunbeams. We call this The Testers Run as Sunbeam in Wolverhampton used this route to test their motorcycles in the late 20's and 30's. The road was unmade in those days and the testers would do the complete journey in a day, that's what being tough is. Modern (ish) bikes, easy peasy, when I do this run other times in the year on my 1998 V-max it eats it for breakfast. Loved the vid, well done.
Wow thanks for that David I really love hearing stories like the one you have just shared with me and really appreciate you taking the time to write said comment. I also have nothing but admiration for the bikes you all ride and am really happy to hear that your still riding in your 70's thats just brilliant. Ride safe you and yours and here's hoping you ride for many many more miles. Thanks for watching.
That white jag that turned right back for Bala at the top of the Eunant vally, brave, its some road down there!! Not sure I'b be taking a £100k+ car down there, but loads of fun on a bike. Glad you enjoyed where I get to play on my bike.
Mark some other viewers mention a viewing area a few 100 yards from where he turned maybe he was going there, anyway lucky you living amongst at that mate.
Steve. We only found your channel a couple of days ago and have watched your Switzerland tour and the Wales trip. Love the content, the editing and of course the places you visit. Very inspiring. They are easy to watch the full video, which as we know with our channel, is good for the “watch minutes” 😊 Will watch the Scotland tour next. We are looking forward to your next adventures. If you have any advice for a 54 year old that will drive anything but finally wants to learn and pass the Mod 1 and Mod 2 motorcycle tests….. please let me know 👍 All the best. Paul.
Cheers Paul and thanks for taking the time to comment. Pleased you enjoyed the series my friend and really hope you pass all the mods and get on a motorcycle soon.
Lake Vyrnwy nearest in English Lake Vernwee. When the water is low, you can still see remains of the village which was flooded to create the the reservoir. The water feeds Liverpool. Llanwddyn is pronounced Clan oothan. Eunant Fawr pronounced vower. Dyfi pronounced Dovey as in the bird, Dove. Dinas Mawddwy = Dinnas Mawthy. Brilliant as always but again, I did have to laugh at you struggling with Welsh. Your in my back yard, my playground. I'm not Welsh but living so close, I've learned a few words. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
ha ha Cheers for all the ways to say places, I really was miles away with them all lol. Could have done with a few lessons before we embarked on the tour. Still made you grin s few times eh. Thanks for watching my friend.
Dyfi is home to an Osprey breeding project which I am proud to support. The landscape of Snowdon can only be described as Mythical. I envy you living there.
Thanks for the series. I own the exact same bike, same year, same color, it has been a pleasure to see ‘my’ bike crossing Wales like that ! Cheers from France.

Love that lived not far from lake Vyrnwy, used to ride those roads in my push bike when I was a kid & now on my Z900, if you’d have followed that white car for about a 100m you’d have been at the top of Wales’s highest pass, Bwlch Y Groes, Pass of the cross, you may have seen the cross at the Junc. Great route & commentary.

A****. Absolutely superb and what a finale to this series Tour of Wales 2021. I'm going through a very difficult time at the moment, not of my making I hasten to add, and your videos have been just the respite I need to keep me going. Dunno why but I was in floods of tears by the end. Thank you so much Steve for making and sharing your videos. I look forward to saturday evenings. You are a very talented and good man for making such visually stunning and enjoyable videos. You obviously put A LOT of time and effort into making them for your channel. Best veiws ever very impressed. So beautiful there. I'm touring in Wales in two weeks going to try some of the routes you took . Thanks for the inspirational video can't wait to get going.
First class series, especially your solo ride around Snowdonia. I stumbled across the last section of your ride back in the early 90's. I too was riding solo when I did it and you managed to convey exactly how I felt seeing such magnificent scenery before me. Watched some very good videos on other TH-cam channels of their tours around Snowdonia, but have to say, yours beats them by a mile. Bet your mates wished they'd rode with on that final day, especially when they saw your footage of the ride. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Clive I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such a positive comment and pleased you enjoyed it. And like you say it was simply stunning as you know from experiencing it yourself. Ride Safe my friend.

Ditto with other viewers, a most enjoyable relaxing ride. I now have the 700 Tracer and my wife loves it but doing so much mileage in one day for us, it just too much at 73yrs. At least now lockdown has ceased we all can get out more regularly. Looking forward to your next adventure with you and your gang, Muzzy is a real comic..

Thanks fella will make a note of your info for future returns 👍
Brilliant as always Steve, me and the wife are heading to Aberystwyth tomorrow, definitely doing the stretch from Bala, looks stunning, thanks for another great video 😎🏍️

Hi Steve
Did this route again today, had to turn around after the cattle grid heading up to the top of the pass, gale force winds, nearly dropped the bike it was that bad!! One of my favourite routes now and only 35 miles from home.
Wowser wowser wowser!!
Keep up the good work
Wowser indeed Peter your a brave man attempting that route this time of year. Ride Safe mate and all the best for the new year.

Once again excellent video, fantastic end to this trilogy, particularly liked the drone footage over the damn dam lol, cant wait for your next adventure. I have just booked one of next years trips, myself, my wife and best mate are off to the Isle of Man for a week, stopping in an AirBnB in Ramsay, and riding all over the Island, I will keep you posted, meantime, as always, stay safe my mate.

You should be very proud of your videos. You are also a great ambassador for motorcycling and bikers. Thank you again.
Wow Alex thank you so much for watching the video's but more importantly taking the time to write such a positive and knowledgeable comment with that amount of praise I really appreciate it. Not many people realise how long each episode takes me to put together but in truth I really enjoy the editing. Stay safe my friend and I really hope you are where you want to be in the not to distant future.

If you'd followed the white convertible for about 400 yds you'd have had the fantastic view from Bwlch Y Groes, the second highest accessible road in Wales. I was up there with a mate last Wednesday
Now I find out lol actually gives us a good reason to return eh. Thanks for that Tommy.
Belting finish to the days ride, love the hidden Valley ride to Vyrnwy from.Bala, I still haven't done Bwylch y Groes, where the couple in the white car turned right, a short way up is a Panoramic view point👍 once again great production mate.

Thanks Mike pleased you enjoyed the series and yeah that lorry driver on phone on such a small road unbelievable, Ride safe mate.
Best veiws ever very impressed. So beautiful there. I'm touring in Wales in two weeks going to try some of the routes you took . Thanks for the inspirational video can't wait to get going.
You are gonna love it Gus have a great tour my friend.
No !!!!! That can't be the end ........You can't half pick the roads Steve Great series thanks for bringing us along Where are we going next ?? Any plans ?? Friday / Saturday night won't be the same Cheers Steve thanks for putting a smile on my face Best wishes from Belfast
Thanks for watching and commenting Gordon and possibly Europe next time we'll see how the world is.Stay safe in Belfast my friend.
Thanks for watching John pleased you enjoyed it. Hopefully Europe next time. Go you riding still at 73 yrs that's great, really hope we all are to at that age. Ride Safe my friend.

Great series. I am planning five days in Wales in the spring. I'll be riding some of the same roads and I think I'll add in a couple from your last day. You're right, those single track roads remind me of Scotland.
