Love the videos Steve ,even the wife watches them too, I am 76 and hung my boots up two years ago ,old age caught up with me .but i soon forget the age bit once you start off on your travels .My advice is keep going as long as you can .I am car bound now but its no substitute for a bike and the open road ,as you say stay safe .and as regards the "Happy People" you certainly make this person happy .thanks for ride !!! its the closest i shall ever get again but i shall never forget just how good it feels .all the best .regards john.
Wow John the fact you rode while you were in your early seventies is fantastic and I really hope I can do the same. Well done you and I am so pleased you enjoy the films and the scenery we ride through. Really appreciate you taking the time to leave such a nice comment my friend and I hope I can continue to take you along on many more rides, Stay safe John and Mrs John :-)
Watched for a 2nd time. Just as good as first time around. No doubt will watch it again some time. Might even ride it for myself one day! Many thanks Steve.
When you saw that little train going above you, just before that on right is a little station you can pull into . It's the most amazing place to sit and have a coffee from the little cafe. So peaceful. Best stop spot in Wales imo
Well Steve would not have missed that ride for all the tea in China some great scenery again looking forward to seeing the one mate keep em coming mate the fev rider
Hi Steve yes been in the lay bye for Jet's coming over Mack Loop it's bloody good see them go over they come over are house 3 week's go at 9.00 at night they were low any way love the video as always thank you .
Hi Steve. Loving this ride so will have to try it when next in Wales. Just got back from there on Monday and did your Elan Valley ride on Saturday. I have been to Snowdonia before but you always seam to seek out the better roads. Keep safe mate, Mike.
Great video Steve that’s what motorcycling is all about no rush enjoy the ride you and your pals from over the water from me (East Yorkshire) are a fantastic to watch same sense of humour as me Muzz is classic keep up the good work Steve
Hiya Steve... thanks for wetting my appetite for my Snowdonia / Anglesey trip in Sep... ridden a lot of Wales this year... and still so much more of it to discover. Safe Riding 😉 Vade ad Explorandum 👍
What a great ride, wonderful countryside, I bet its quite nice riding on your own for a change, you have only yourself to please, looking forward to the next instalment, ride safely, Regards.
Won't be able to tour this year so I'm re-watching your Wales tour. I managed to go there last June for 5 nights and toured most of Wales including this snowdonia discovery route after seeing you do it. That trip was a 320 mile round trip from my lodgings a few miles south of Rhayader, and was the best 11 hours of my life...except for the stabbing ear pain from my foam plugs 😅. I recommend the lake district too if you haven't been there yet! Hello from Grimsby.
Sorry to hear no tour this year my friend but we'll Happy you managed snowdonia discovery, its one of the best days riding I've had to Ron. Ride safe mate
Looks like a fantastic route, I wonder if any of the lads are thinking "I should have gone" after watching the footage? Was the warning light just a low oil warning or oil pressure warning? Normally its low oil pressure that's a big worry. A mate has a 1200GS and from new it had an appetite for engine oil, so much so he kept half a litre in a bottle strapped to the frame. BMW said it was within usage tolerance (it did get better after run in) Anyway great to see the sights and roads of Wales when it's not raining. Thanks for making the vid.
Can't remember which oil light came on Richard but as you do I stopped asap and was a worried fella when nothing showed in the indicator window at all. Sorted in the end so happy days and yes the lads are now saying we should have rode that with you. Episode 6 next brings even better roads and scenery IMO. ride safe you two.
Usual great video Steve, I know you don't get the banter when the guys are not with you, but somehow for me the lone rider vids always have an edge. Keep up the good work. ATB Big Dave Scotland
Great video Steve , glad you decided to follow through with out the rest of the guys, its looks an epic route thanks for sharing looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
Good trip Steve 👍 on the subject of oil my first boxer engine needed topped up from time to time, first time it happened like you the light came on when I was out on a run. Never came across this before up to that time had Japanese bikes and never had a problem. Looked up on various forums to see it is quite normal for some not all of the air cooled boxers, seeming disappearing at 30k plus miles.
Was strange fella as had never happened before in 4 yrs to suddenly show nothing in the level window. A bit scary at first but only needed half a litre to sort it thank goodness, cheers for watching my friend.
Some beautiful roads there Steve I’m sure you had a very enjoyable day buddy. Sad to here the other guy did not fancy going but there loss and your gain buddy so happy days. Looking forward to the next one thanks Steve
Fantastic video Steve, what a great day's riding!! Stunning scenery and awesome roads!! I don't suppose you made a gpx file of this route, Abr one does not seem to work for me!! Cheers
Darren I broke this day into 3 parts and if you look in the description of Part 3 there is a link to download my full GPX file of the whole route. There's also a link to download Garmin Basecamp if you don't already have it to open it with and edit as you wish. Ride safe my friend.
Familiar roads for me Steve, by going on the A and B roads you are covering some ground, but these days I enjoy the narrower unclassified roads, and like to string together 200 or more miles without encountering a single built up area speed limit, but if you do not like switch backs, it may not be your kind of ride. Glad you enjoyed our main roads here in North Wales.
This route was amazing Dafydd I to like the small ones also having done the NC500 in Scotland. Have to say though Wales blew me away and exceeded all my expectations, you live in a beautiful country my friend.
To help you with your photography: to stop the glare on the water add a polarizer filter and ND filters to change the light when needed (too bright). I have been doing outdoor photography for nearly 30 years.
Great video Steve, I'm really liking your music choices this episode, have you found a new source. Any looks like you've got the best roads of the trip this ride.
Fantastic episode my mate, Apart from the mishap with the oil, as good as, if not better than Henry Coles travel vlogs, cant wait for part 2, as always stay safe buddy.

Hi, we’re you on a9 southbound near dalwhinnie today mate?
Been home a few weeks now Mike and we are from Lincolnshire so no it wasn't me my friend.
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt ahh ok, someone with a jacket like yours passed me today, it’s quite distinctive, all the best
Hey Steve, that camera is amazing. What is it mate?
I use an old Drift Ghost S don't think they make them anymore my friend.
Thought the engine sounded a bit rough
Ha ha thanks Martin
For what it's worth, Bmw r1200rt of your vintage don't use traditional motorcycle oil, they use car oil 10w40 , as you don't have wet clutch .
Cheers fella thanks for that.
👍👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks Vance my overseas friend.
Any oil is better than no oil! Auto oil would not hurt a bike with a dry clutch like your's! It's the anti friction additives that hurts wet clutches!
Your right Ronald was a bit of a scare but wasn't going to let it spoil my route, thanks for watching my friend.
