      Same age as you and it has gotten very bad. I go to the store and I will come out of there all sweaty. It feels like I'm out of my own mind and watching myself in third person judging myself as if it were another person. I hate this feeling! I'll start watching these self help seminars and hopefully it helps me out.

    Im 18 and I recently tried to push myself n i was at my bfs first concert n I immediately felt anxiety closing which caused a lot of disaster after……I’ve gone thru emotional abuse n some physical my childhood wasn’t perfect that i wish to be but i remember 6th was one of my social moments but all terrible at same time after that life went downhill with being social n myself. I felt bad for being distant n having horrible thoughts of myself and others making feel isolated i am currently on another journey to healing with myself……..its definitely hard going n being comfortable with myself and surroundings. At this event tho i felt like how do i act where do i go n then the catastrophic thinking came in i felt terrible after disconnecting from the event n felt i made others uncomfortable n made there night terrible. I am doing other things to help me like journaling and welp planning to exercise n try to express myself thats truly me. I appreciate this n ppl who struggling to y’all can do this tomorrow is a new day

    • @EKisPEER
      @EKisPEER 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Hi Melisa. I started with the most common thing I experience in social situations and just connected it to other aspects of the diamond:
      1. Bodily sensations: Sweating (forehead and armpit)
      2.Thoughts: Why am I sweating? No one else is sweating this much. Everyone can see I am nervous.
      3. Feelings: Feel more stressed and anxious with loss of self-esteem.
      4. Behavior: Trying to subtle wipe the sweat from my forehead and try to hide the sweat spots under my arms. Distracted and not focusing on conversation. Too focused on what others think about my sweating.
      Then I just repeated the same process. I hope it helps.

    It's even worse when you have a speech impediment that causes you to stutter a whole lot. Sometimes it has nothing to do with anxiety when it happens but the possibility of stuttering makes the anxiety 10x worse and just makes me not want to talk to anyone at all due to the trauma of being laughed at for it in high school.

    The most annoying bodily sensation one can have with social anxiety is sweating, I mean sweating even the smallest things and Infront of people, being in a public transit, talking to someone, being new to your university and alot of things? I'm excessively always sweat in my forehead and my safety behaviors are that I'm always in a constant flight mode and wanting to leave the situation bc I'm anxious and sweating like a weirdo, and I have my handkerchief with me all the time and a fan. It's so embarrassing, I'm having this for almost 3 years now and I don't have enough money to get some help professionally thats why I'm here. School starts in Monday and I'm really trying to love my anxiety and my sweaty forehead more. I hope I get to enjoy it and not ruminate it every time I go home and do it again the other day.

      Sweating isn’t bad at all bro, sometimes I blush in social situations and I find it impossible for the redness to go away and only gets worse the harder I try. Recently I Tried to embrace it and just think it is what it is which is kinda working, But I would rather sweat than blush if I had the choice

      I can handle sweating, but my heart jumping out of my ribcage to the point that you can physically notice the pulses is the worst

      Yea I remember being standing in the bus because seats were full and I was sweating so bad that if I stopped wiping my forehead it would start dropping to the person that was seated in front of me (and if I wear gray clothes they look as if someone threw a bucket to me literally)

      @@antonymccann6667 I remember when I was super motivated in doing rejection therapy I would take sweat as something good, in my mind I was like "OK I'm sweating so it means I'm uncomfortable so it means that I'm slowly getting used to the situation and that *
