I'm so glad when I saw the mess your pastels are in. Because mine look the same and I have so many boxes of soft, semi hard, and pastel pencils haphazardly next to me when painting with them. I'm left handed so always to the left of me is the mess of soft pastels. By the way you are quite talented and I love the portraits you do.
I can never thank you enough. This is the first pastel tutorial I've seen anywhere that actually shows me how I too can easily paint a pastel portrait. Hugs! The only thing I would do differently: I have read elsewhere that poisonous carcinogenic chemicals can enter my body from pastel paints or oils if I use my fingers in blending or inhale their powder that is in the air. So I'll just use blending stumps and or cloth or clean x, and wear thin gloves & a thin mask. However I love your technique! Other artist's tutorials confuse me with so many layers of different colors on top of each other. Thanks again! For the first time I think I can do this! Joyce Hanson Anderson, Art.

I have just discovered you about a month ago. First, I am so happy to hear that you are back and I hope you are well and healthy again? I had wondered why so few videos were new. Bless you dear lady. I had been away from creating art for almost 25 years and came back again in January. Covid hit and I took two months off to volunteer on a mask making team but then I started up again. Last month I just began trying pastels again, which has always been my favorite. I am so overwhelmed by your talent with the pastels. I hope to learn from you by following your examples. Little over 3 years ago your work inspired me to begin using pastels and a confidence to create portraits as well. I'm also a cancer survivor. Hate that you had to go through this. I post videos when I can since my portraits, projects, personal blog, and other things keep me busy, and making a video requires quite a time and effort... and it is not always possible to do it. Glad to know that you started to paint again. It is wonderful to have a passion and Pastel is a big one with no doubt...

I am approaching a year of drawing again and I can truly see good results from practicing. I am working only in graphite at the moment until i improve my drawing skills and feel more confident about it. I draw everyday and turn to TH-cam to see the

It's very nice, you are very talented. I prefer canson paper as well for pastels, but having difficulty obtaining it here in London. Currently using canford paper but not as good as canson. Best wishes with your recovery Graciela x.

I was so excited when your notification popped up!! Did not know why your weren't posting your fabulous portraits anymore, but definitely noticed your absence and missed them bunches. Little over 3 years ago your work inspired me to begin using pastels and a confidence to create portraits as well. I'm also a cancer survivor. Hate that you had to go through this. So thankful you're back and feeling better. Hope to see more if you and you artwork.
