I like everything about this project. One of your comments really hit home with me - I am often reluctant about taking off enough wood to make the piece the right size. I'm of the opinion that most of us old woodturners feel a sense of stewardship with our raw materials. I just can't make a plunger handle from a gorgeous piece of curly maple. That said, I'm learning that the piece I am turning deserves my best efforts even if it means making the piece smaller than I first imagined. I appreciate you. Thanks.
Another great job of sharing Dean. The ring bowl is a great project. I’ve done a couple with a second piece for the stem, but never as one piece. I do like the idea of a “finished” tenon. Seems to work as well as finishing a recess before reversing. Thanks for sharing.
Nice project Dean... I have made a couple of these in the past, you are right Ladies love em. I like your technique a whole lot better than my feeble attempts when I first started out turning about 2 years ago......LOL.. Thanks for sharing..
Very nice turning. You are right that if you tell your significant other that her finger is that large you will be able to see out of your right eye in about three days😂. Do you sell those at craft fairs. How well do they sell.Thank you for the lessons and your I sight.
Dean, A very nice project. Well presented. Might I ask you to show me how you hang your shower curtain screens? I have been thinking about doing that but have been undecided about how to attach it to the ceiling of my shop/garage. Thanks!

Very nice Dean. Excellent shape and size. Mahogany always finishes up well. I do wonder about the center post though. As it is cross grain isn't is more prone to breakage? Would a center post of a contrasting wood work well? Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
Glen you can do it either way but do not worry about the center being cross grain its a lot thicker than the bowl itself and I have never had a problem with either way of doing them. Thanks for watching!!!
Since your hands are in 90%of the videos 📹..my ocd gets me about your fingernails...I know it's dumb but please cut them to a reasonable length..they are too long for a man
Great video. I'm just starting to turn on a lathe. You make it looks effortless.
