Hi everyone, Sorry there’s been a gap with the uploads, just had the busiest craziest month. My original plan for October was to go to Taiwan for 2 weeks, head back to Canada, then go to UK at the end of the month for my mate Si’s wedding (as in Si from the Midnight Train To Georgia series). But just before I flew out to Taiwan, my permanent residency was granted for Canada - which is great!! But there’s like a month gap between being granted your permanent residency and getting your permanent resident card, which you NEED to be able to get back in the country. So why did I have a trip booked when I knew this might be happening? Well everything with my PR application was approved in March, and they were going to virtually land me then, meaning I’d get the PR card in March / April, but they forgot to do it!! And so have been back and forth with them for 6 months to get it sorted. So anyway, went to Taiwan, ended up extending my trip there because of the cyclone, and then rather than going back to Canada, I went to the UK, but had THIS STOP OFF in Bangkok along the way :) Jaime came out for the wedding, and just as she was flying back my PR card arrived in Canada, so we got it sent via UPS to me in the UK, with guaranteed delivery within 48 hours, but the package got stuck in a loop at UPS’ Stansted warehouse, and so we had no idea when I was gonna get it. All this time I was crashing in my old flat in Redhill, which I’m in the process of selling and its basically empty, no broadband so getting work done was hard (and I couldn’t leave the flat incase UPS suddenly said “it’s out for the deliver”). Anyway, the package finally showed up on Tuesday morning, I flew back to Canada that afternoon, got to Winnipeg yesterday morning, and after all that stress and anxiety and month long travel, I came down with a fever. Fortunately I’m on the recovery today and the uploads for the channel should be coming thick and fast again :) So that’s been my month! An unintentional round the world trip haha. Hope you enjoyed this short film from Bangkok, I’m gonna crack on with the Taiwan film.
When that spice kicks in it KICKS in 🤣 but it was soooooooo good! With that being said, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you finally Karl! We've watched you for years and admired your dedication to your craft. Keep being great and hope our paths cross again (and again) friend.
Amazing way to spend a day in BKK! And finally someone who understands that you shouldn’t pack every bit of activity in every hour when you travel, so I’m definitely loving the length of this one! Cheers!
Cheers, yeah like I said you'll get those sponsorships in the shorter videos, not in the main long documentaries, cos I wanna keep them clean, even if it means I earn less :)
I’m in Thailand for a 6 week adventure starting December. Naturally my first 2 nights are in the old town near Khao San Rd. I’m definitely doing the canal tour.
Going to be in Bangkok for 4 Nights from 27th November. Will 100% have to try out Hidden Bangkok Tours. Stayed at Nouvo City Hotel for 4 nights in Feb 2022 and went for my meals and drinks at same place as you guys.
Chicken rice! Simple and great dish, Leanne and I enjoyed be something very similar in KL. I had the shivers when seeing the flash backs from Covid 😮. Nice little video mate, enjoyed it. 👍
I stayed at that hotel in 2023 loved it only there for 2 nights Met up with a friend went to a super club was ace loved the city then went on an adventure to Koh Samui and the other islands ruined by a centipede though!
Hey Karl I hope you're enjoying Winnipeg and living in Canada? Get ready for our Manitoba winters! lol Im a couple hours north of Winnipeg near Dauphin, Im already an adult and im still not used to our cold ass winter weather!! LOL Any who Happy Halloween, I hope you have an awesome day today! Ahh Thailand, I always loved Thailand videos. Like you i fell madly in love with the movie The Beach so i always imagine Khao San Road being wild and full of life at night, the last time you were there it wasn't as much because of the pandemic. But im glad to see it lively again. I really Loved this video and cant wait for more as usual. hehe. Thanks for the upload.
Love this video Karl. Did the exact same tour last summer although the big buddah was there to see. Totally agree about the Koh San. Went at 21, 25 years and then 34. ‘I’m too old for this shit’ 😂
Hiya Karl. Great video. Love Paddy and Miss P. Will and Jose. The boat driver looks very young. I would never think she had a daughter that age. Khao San Road, 11 years later still the same s hit. But louder. Loved this. Congratulations on getting married. Happy Sunday.
Great video! I've followed you since your HK2NY trip. So fun to watch. We fly today back to Bangkok for a 1.5 day overlay befor our trip to Laos. Loved the LOTR refference, probably we will feel te same😂. Greetings from the Netherlands
'm staying at Ohms' Canal house Airbnb in a few days. I wanted to see the giant Buddha up close finally. So sad to see it's all covered up. 4 trips to Thailand in the last year and pissed at myself for not doing it on the last trip.
Great video man thanks. I'm a really old guy but I want to visit khao san road just to see what that's like now I know what it's like to expect and if I should stay in the area
Love it and to see you two have evolved from crazy to chilled 😆 yep comes to us all! Funny how it seems to happen in ten year increments 😅 I’m 54 and travelled a lot and know that that time comes when the noise and craziness that we love gets replaced by a quiet tour, nice meal and deep connections! Hard to let go of but it’s the reality and what a lovely journey to be on and capture 👊🏼 honest and awesome 😎 bring on the next adventure 🤗
We are headed Thailand way in about a month. You gotta update your description bruh, you are based out of Winnipeg now no? Thanks for the Bangkok tips 😀
