Got the same one, the flex cable you don’t use I had a similar issue with the flex and noticed the pads weren’t all the way to the edge so was able to slice just enough of the edge from the flex pcb so I could solder the pads across. Was fiddly, but got it done. Great video as always 👍
Just seeing this video now as i read up on modding. One thing to note for future is that the launch option for CFW-sysMMC can lead to the switch being banned if it's not in airplane mode (Even when not connected to wi-fi) due to the way it communicates with the system NAND. CFW-emuMMC or stock - sysMMC are really the only 2 options that should be used, and quite a few people doing the modding service disable this before the user gets the console back to ensure they don't use it.
Thank you for such a great breakdown and explanation of how to complete this modification. I was able to successfully install on my lite thanks to you. Keep up the Excellent work!
Amazing work!! I also did it here and unfortunately I lost the 3v3 capacitor, can you tell me what its value is, so I can add another one again, thank you very much!!
Today ive soldered the Picofly RP2040 Lite in. It worked and gave me the PicoFly No SD screen. After putting in an SD Card i got an Blackscreen... Then i removed the Chip and now i have a Blue Screen ... Do you know what it could cause? I saw something with the EMMC

I was so surprised when you started grinded metal shield exactly above mother board. It's a terrible mistake. Tiny metal parts can put down at micro components and short.

hi there! what size/gauge are the wires you're using to do this? I've some experience on soldering, bought the chips and a microscope just to do this and have some fun :) thanks for your response!
What can go wrong with the flex "cable" provided ? Cuz i used it on my switch and it works so far (3 months). Anyway its the same type of cable that is used near cpu, and this one desnt fail ?
nothing goes wrong with them once installed! what logic would that be???? he just has issues getting them soldered so runs wires instead. you need to adjust things to your skill set sometimes.
I always use 368C, but sometimes soldering becomes like jam lol I face this differently in different boards. I used 395C to solder the APU flex cable since they barely melted at 370-385C, maybe my tips are bad. I have installed the modchip on switch lite with 0.1 jumper wires without using the upgraded flex cable. However now the home button doesn't work for some reason, not sure what I did wrong, I have checked the button, broken traces around the APU, pressure on it because of the chip, everything, it was keep being pressed at times, led was blinking like from time to time too until it almost dead now. (No standby/ sleep mode too) I believe the button press is still being registered somehow. Modifying it was all possible thanks to wonderful people like you. I'm happy with the clean outcome again, not ugly except the bit ugly looking solder joints on the APU. Clean work so far but not the best :) Keep posting awesome videos like this! Stay safe and have fun! Have a wonderful day! Thanks again for the guidance!
@@context4719 clone of what? the whole use of the "open source" rp2040 pico came long after team xecuter got shut down. It is its own thing. hwfly was a clone of team xecuters work for 10 times the price.
i dont see why anybody with an iq above that of a ping pong ball would ever choose picofly over hwfly both cables for hwfly work great i have never had a problem using both cables the solder job is easy period
the chips are cheaper and do the same thing. the picofly based chips come with the same exact cables. Hwfly doesn't use some superior manufacturing or QC. people would say the same thing about coolrunners for rgh back in the day. ! in the end the cheaper clones and acev3 chips that came out actually performed better for one tenth the cost.

Yeah I had a lot of trouble with original hwfly lite flex cable pads, definitely better to solder directly like you have 👍
But it needs more qualification
The wires you use as jumper cables, are those coated in enamel? If so, do you burn it off beforehand, or does soldering burn it off?
I need a help, I broke in my NS lite board B (rst) point, is there another point on the board?
I love your videos. Greetings and respect from Brazil
@1:14 The one on the left says on the PCB that it is a HwFly Lite, no PICOFLY.
His left not yours, based on where he is seated duh lol.
Loving the thumbnail

What thickness(milimeters) copper wire is best for this mod?
From where do you get the chip ?

Looks fairly easy.
Thank you .. can you show how to setup sd card ? I have same lite bust stuck at fusee fatal error
Impressive job like always, is there any purpose soldering the back of the apu flex?
Thank you for another great video. :)

What duameter is the enameled copper cable?
Great work. Thanks.
Hello I soldered the first chip by the left on your video and my switch boots up normal without showing no sd card, help pls
what is the kind of wire called that youre using?

he would be using diode mode to ground (no battery connected!) your meter may differ a bit . like he tends to get .619 my meter will read .819 .
@@jrok96 OK but I'm still a beginner and don't know where ground is on the Switch Life

Hi please do you have a schematic for this.
Do you know the value of the capacitor on the regulator, where you solder the 3,3V for the chip? Mine is lost after I tried to install everything
What are you install cost?
Can you do a tutorial for picofly v1 patched
When soldering on sp1/sp2 can you completely cover the chip or just the contact points?
if you cover the chip the chip(capacitor) will short bro

Muito mais simples. Ok. Você é fodão.
what do you of that wire? to connect ?

Hi. No, they shouldn't be connected.

Which version of Picofly firmware did you use on this installation?
Hi! Could you please tell me which temperature do you use to solder these tiny spots?
300C is enough.

Hi, That copper wire you're using is in some way? Which does not short circuit?
That is enammeled cooper wire. It´s don´t cause short on circuit.

Probably enammeled wire 0.1.

why? just run each wire to the corresponding pad. flash the chip first
