Hi Tava, can you recommend an insurance company? I looked at some and the price was very high. I'm wanting to do hotshot non cdl. Thank you and good luck, your TH-cam channel is an inspiration.
Man, there was a lot to take digest in this video. You definitely did a great job capturing the highlights. I would be careful with those violations. Insurance companies are brutal. They (Progressive) will increase your insurance if you file a claim for "hail damage". And when I attempted to drop them (because after two years they increased my premium) .....the new company asked for a "Loss Report" from Progressive and on that report it had my claim for hail damage. However, the new company said that it's not as bad as having an accident. But at any rate, stay safe out there, you're doing an awesome job.
I’m sorry to hear that man. I’m hoping progressive won’t do something like that to me. If so I’ll leave them. My ain’t is an insurance agent. Plan on switching soon anyways because I don’t wanna get into that boat. But thanks! Yeah this video was 8 hours of footage edited down to 30 minutes. Glad I can bring you guys good content
@@truckertavis - Most definitely Tavis, you are sharing true reality. I’m Non-CDL with a dually and a de-rated trailer which limits my weight. It’s not too bad but, it restricts me. So, I’m thinking of swapping out both, truck and trailer, so that I can maximize the 26,000lbs. (Haven’t made up my mind yet), I’m still in love with my dually….. 😂. Hey, keep up the good work and stay safe out there!
I’m starting hot shot in a few weeks. Didn’t realize you had to have a muffler as long as you don’t remove the dpf & cats on the newer trucks. I’ll make sure to put a Magnaflow muffler with a 5” tailpipe instead of the muffler delete
You’ll honestly like it better. Idk about you, but I had a deleted muffler on mine and the cab noise was much higher. It’s nice to run quiet in the cab while also letting her rip lol. Once you’re out here running miles you’ll appreciate the quiet.
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots I sold exhaust to muffler shops for 22 years and usually everyone wanted a muffler and they even came in the kits. A few years ago Magnaflow started selling the kits with no muffler and just a 5” pipe & tip. I definitely don’t want a violation so I’ll just add a 5” inlet/outlet Magnaflow muffler too. I miss the days of no cats & dpfs on diesel trucks but it’s the way of the world now.

I don’t think he was having a good day. No other DOT officer all over the country had said anything about my muffler or any of these violations he wrote me up for.
You should heed what he said about the rims and tires and all other violations. Your insurance company will check your safer score at time of renewal. Be prepared for an increase if you continue to get violations. Those violations will remain on your score for a minimum of 2 years and will eventually drop off your record.
I get that but I find it unfair not all officers agree on what’s a violation and what isn’t. He’s the first to put them down as violations. Every other inspection the officers had no issue with them including another Utah Officer.

There might well be a hot lug/wire in your 7-way harness that can be hooked up to the trailer battery that will keep it charged. (Hoping you bought a deep cycle battery??)
I bought a deep cycle but my solar for some reason won’t keep it charged either. I’m taking my trailer to a Diamond C dealer to get looked at. I shouldn’t be having so many issues with a 5 month old trailer. Especially an issue that keeps happening over and over.
@@truckertavis Firstmost make sure your 12v hot lug in your truck connector is in fact hot. Its at the 1 oclock position, Ground is at your 7 oclock position. There really should be a hot wire in your trailer wiring harness that should be run, along with a ground right to the battery. I wouldn't depend on the solar.
