Every year for the their festival the rest of the country and the foreign tourists come to enjoy the colours and gwak at the beautiful Kalasha women but as soon as the festivals are over they are left to fend for themselves. No infrastructure, no doctors and no roads. I was there in 2008 and then again recently. I have many Kalasha friends and they are so desperate for the government to fulfill it's promise. If they want more tourists and revenue they should focus on kalah valley as much as Hunza and gilgit.
It’s a slippery slope. Kalasha are who they are because they stuck to their traditions. With the introduction of infrastructure and communication it will destroy the very fabric that we all cherish. So the real fun is improving the infrastructure while maintaining the traditions. Idk what Kalasha want but I know that from where I am there is a lot to lose and very little to gain. See the way they are happy with the simple life. That will just be complicated
@Usman khawaja exactly! To preserve Kallash culture you need infrastructure and access to clean water, basic necessities and healthcare. So they don't leave their own area and tradition to look elsewhere. Instead of converting them to islam show them what real brotherhood looks like!

Just turned up! Nothing arranged in advance ... but my friend knew of this guy and his guest house , but there were no other tourists around but they said most tourists don’t usually want to be so involved and sit and eat with them in the kitchen etc , it’s all possible if your open to things and experiences, I just bonded with the girls right away ❤️

Peshawar is indeed a beautiful ancient city. When ever I went there it is as it's old streets and allies and walls and buildings want to invite me to listen to their old fairy tales. It really makes me cry. I am from Darra Adam Khel which like 35 miles away from Peshawar to the South. That city is my soul city.
