- This video shows how to make a traditional crispy sun-dried snack which can be preserved and used as required.Kuzhambu Vadam Sambar Vadam or also known as Vadi in North India .These can be fried in oil and added to any veg curries or sambar.
Ingredients
Pigeonpea lentils/Thuvar dal 1/2 cup
Channa da 1/2 cup
Urad Dal 1/2 cup
Dry chilli 8-10
Hing/asafoetida 1/2 tsp
chopped onion 1 optional
curry leaves
coriander leaves a few

Nice recipe to try while we are at home now. My grandma taught me to make bitter gourd and ladies finger kondatam or fries, it came out really well. I will make this as well in the coming weekend.

This can be done with only urad dal, thatta payaru. When fried can be added to keerai masiyal also. Traditional recipe. Thank you for reminding

Greetings dear Geeta. I made 3 glasses of this kozhambu vadi. They are now beautifully dried and stored . Yesterday I made keera mashiyal and added few of those vadis. It turned out so yummy😋 Thank you so much once again for a great idea. Tomorrow morning breakfast planning to make your rice flour gramflour plus veggies adai. One doubt, if the vadams are kept in a cloth won't the salt n chillies get inside the cloth
n the vadams will not have taste after drying?
Please reply. Otherwise instead of curry for a change vadams can be fried. 🙏👌👌.I will try it out tomorrow.
Nothing will happen drying in cloth is the best way
N oldendays we used to dry vadams on old and clean vveishtis only will absorb water and drying will be done soon

We make in summer and keep at Chennai. We made it three weeks ago. Same method as you do. We do add onions, keep few without onions

Hi aunty one solution pls ,as due to lock down we have bought ration for two months like rava ,ragi flour,Dal's now the problem is I can see the ragi flour has little worms in it how much ever I clean it keeps on building I think u got my problem pls help how to store these properly
