I only wear bucket hats during the warmer months. I shave my head, and have for over a decade, so the bucket hat is comfortable without leaving a ring around my bald head when I take it off.
Can't legally fire someone for wearing a bright suit unless you e.g. already have a policy in place when you hire them. Furthermore you wouldn't hire somone that doesn't respect your policy, just makes u bad at ur job. So that statement really makes no sense unless you live in a country that lacks basic worker rights.

Style is an ever-changing thing. There's nothing wrong with playing it safe with tried and tested fashion but you shouldn't be averse to experimentation. As silly as some of these trends may be, some of them will inevitably stick around. When that happens, the standards of classic fashion will also change to incorporate elements of those trends.
I'd absolutely welcome that, especially compared to the whole "athleisure" trend of the moment. I don't care how popular it is, I refuse to give in to it.
So you’re hoping everyone eventually look the same and have the same style and no way of expressing themselves in their own way and feel comfortable in their own style? What a lovely world that would be.

I gotta say, i'm a big fan of the sneaker dress shoes, though I wear them only for casual attire. They look sleek without compromising on the ability to go walk for 1-2 hours without your feet bleeding!
A good fanny pack always has its place, but, agreed, it has to be reasonable. If you need a bag every day, a small leather single strap back pack I find works well and compliments my styles from day to day
Kyle really got to the point with these awful mens clothing trends! Very well presented with a nice pace and moderate. Don't think I saw anything I didn't agree with!
For number 15, I actually wear black single-breasted suit (fitting right, of course) with a black dress shirt, black oxfords, and no tie, and for me as a young man it works well. It looks youthful, minimalist and classic without looking overly casual. I only really wear it to semi-casual events or dinners in the evening.
Yeah. Bucket hats are pretty stylish imo. Since fedoras are faux pas to wear nowadays, a bucket hat is the closest thing to one you can wear and not have tons of people staring at you. As someone who grew up in the late 90's-2000's, I also find them nostalgic since they were popular back then. I feel like fashion from that era is going to make a big comeback soon. Already has with skaters.
@@plottwist1733 Fedoras are hardly faux pas. Maybe in your tight circle but not overall. I have several kinds of hats but I get more compliments on my fedoras than any other hat. And by people of all ages, including women in their 20's. Like all things, there's a time and a place and the rest of the dress has to compliment it. Bucket hats are fine if you're trying to be Gilligan or Snoop Dog or gardening.
My cole haan frankenshoes are first exceedingly comfortable, and go very well with a business casual look. Since I work in property management I know being presentable is important, but I also have to be prepared to walk alot and occasionally roll up my sleeves to get something done!
I have to agree with you. In general, form follows function. I respect Gentleman's Gazette's opinion and slant towards traditional style. However, our 21st century lives and livelihoods are slowly modifying and chipping away at traditional style forms, that while beautiful, are not as practical.
Same here. For the past year and a half, I've been wearing plain Fruit of the Loom t-shirts, cargo jeans and a pair of Dickies work boots. It's just simple workwear, so nobody pays attention to it and I like that.
I can see that your channel is about classic wardrobe choices, but bro, we aren't in the 1920s. XD Streetwear is so creative and fun! I think the only thing I agreed with is a suit shouldn't be oversized, but that is just my opinion. Also bright colored suits look a little silly to me as well.
I would be interested in a series of men's fashion for working men. I definitely want to upgrade from Jean's and a tee, but I would like something that I might be able to wear on a job or amongst colleagues (tradesmen)
I have a pair of the Frankenshoes! I went with some knitted upper ZeroGrands and I use them as an alternate to my leather sneakers. I got them crazy cheap and thought they may be good for a casual jean look (polo, etc) when I have a lot of walking to do when it is warm. So far, they have been a winner for that. I could see some of the leather version with chinos or something (maybe) but for a casual alternative with jeans....as long as you are not trying to make them look "dressy," I think they work decently well. Of course, that is why I went with the knitted upper...etc....get the silhouette without anyone thinking I was really trying to go more formal.
When you say raves you probably mean the 90's. I remember in Poland first it was huge thing back in 2002-04, and the brand of choice for fanny pack was Lacoste. Then it sorta fade out, then fannies were in again around 2008-11 and this time they were worn *almost* as they were intended (on one's waist), but backwards. And since around 2018 they're in again as crossovers but this time they're usually bigger and more square-ish (inspired by techwear trends).
"There's a utilitarian purpose" I mean at that point just use a backpack. It looks less obnoxious, is more versatile, and overall is better than a bag full of stuff you can put in your pocket
Backpacks and messenger bags are simply too big for your every day leisure activities with friends. A quarter-filled backpack caving in on itself is not a good look
I had a brogue shoes from Timberland back in 90s. Upper suede and deep lug undersole. It perfectly fits your Franken Shoes definition but I was fond of it for my office wear and reflecting my true lifestyle.
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! The fanny pack, aka the hip pack, is awesome and amazing. I never let it go out of style and even helped start the trend with it over the shoulder...your welcome.
A Man-pri is my favorite style of climbing pant. Keeps your knees covered, isn’t too loose, and more air-y than pants. But yeah, I don’t pretend they are formal, or trendy.
I agree. They serve a purpose protecting also your ears and neck as well as your nose and eyes from the sun above. Since they are soft they are also easy to fold and put in a pocket or a bag when not needed, which can be great e.g. when travelling.
Nothing wrong with a piece of floral print, be it shirt or tie. The examples given showed a “flower all the things” approach which they were denigrating.
Could not find much rules that are anti-feminine. Mostly they are against bad-taste. He's only a bit narrow minded on capris: sure a full suit with too short pants is awkward, but with a wider leg and a matching shoe like a Converse low chuck, showing some ankle is awesome. Not by rolling up your distressed skinny jeans though. Also the floral part was keeping tasteful options out of sight. A proper 30's high waist pantalon or modern high waist wide leg jeans with a tucked in fitting flower shirt is giving men a killer look.
Good video. I'm glad that you addressed the frankenshoes. But I think you missed ball caps. Ball caps should be worn when playing ball. (I'll allow other athletics and sport in general.) But they should not be worn for other activities.
@@dandiehm8414 It's funny, I had included those things almost verbatim, but left them out because I didn't want to be overly wordy. But that's it, there are flat caps and the like for casual dress, ball caps are not dress clothes.

And the other side of rich who don’t wear suits wear smart/casual everyday regardless what age they’re. So it’s entirely dependent on your circle and what class you’re. I’m not saying poor people can’t dress like this I’m just saying they’re more inclined to not dress like this

Or grey.

As long as my mullet's still in style, I'm good.

I agree with the majority of the content in the video, with the exception of the bucket hat opinion. I have always been a fan of the bucket hat, and it has nothing to do with any trend. I only wear bucket hats during the warmer months. I shave my head, and have for over a decade, so the bucket hat is comfortable without leaving a ring around my bald head when I take it off.
Bucket is better than any fedora or other hat because you can fit it into your pocket or backpack and don't be afraid that it will be damaged

Right on!!!
I was thinking the same thing. Glad some one agrees with me.
Totally agreed 💯
Bucket hats are always in esp this summer ☀️
You forgot to mention one important case when "fashion colored" suits can be very useful: when you need to get fired from a respectable law firm.
or get fired from any other job requiring business decorum for that matter...
It’s like wearing denim to a collegiate wrestling tournament…where you’re the wrestler

I find the tiny fanny pack like the one from Patagonia is perfect for travel. I wear it when I'm headed to the airport because it allows easy access to my passport, ID, earbuds, and keys so I don't have to dig in my bags when I get back home. Also you can toss your watch or coins in there when you go through security.
Utility wise, it’s great but I always found it odd how it became a part of fashion
No, the fanny pack will never be ok, no matter hos many words you write to defend it -- my husband would just laugh if someone gave him this as a gift -- he would whisper to me ; ~ clueless people
A simple small bag would be better and more practical.
Great for festivals too
I found this absolutely enjoyable!
I don't see anything wrong with a bright colored suit, IF it is a color that suits your skin tone and IF you are not planning to make it a mainstay of your wardrobe. Also IF you have a specific purpose for wearing that color, like planning to impress by matching your suit color with the significant other, e.g.
Everybody has the freedom to have their own style, thats what makes it fun and interesting.
The sky is blue
I live in Las Vegas. The Mojave Desert for heaven’s sake. The sun is intense. I don’t want my skin to look like cracked leather. So yeah, I use a morning moisturizer with SPF 20 and wear a hat. Bucket hat versus squamous cell carcinoma? I’ll take the hat (or baseball cap.) But always, always, always, take it off when indoors.
How about a nice classic straw fedora?

Tbh the over-shoulder bum bag was very useful for me on holiday, I could keep my money and phone in it, and it was sufficiently low-profile that I could hide it under my waterproof coat, especially in tourist hotspot areas with pickpockets aplenty.
Kyle has certainly developed his delivery style .. Go Team GG!
Never understood why a fully grown man would want to wear a romper or Capri pants.
but the james bond romper
I love following this channel but i never dress in suits and I’m more on the opposite side of the spectrum when it come to fashion and i still can appreciate these videos knowledge is power
Everything Kyle wears looks to be one size too small. It looks uncomfortable.
Although I agree with most of these I'd say oversized clothing, distressed denim and especially chunky sneakers have their own place in street style. If done right, achieving that street aesthetic is fun.
True
I quite agree they absolutely have their own place....
That place being a landfill.
Man, you nailed all of those. I'm more of a casual wear/street wear/ skateboard wear type of guy. But you are absolutely correct on all of those. I do own a fanny pack. But only for a kayaking, amusement parks, cycling and other athletic activities
To be honest wearing one color head to toe is actually something i like
Me too. As long as we are talking about all black.
Same, like black, white or some specific colours.

I can’t wait for the return of that era!
They’ll probably just bring back the Zoot Suit, though.
I agree with some of these but it's obvious you people are devoid of fun and personality
Atleast for worn jeans it is relatively easy to tell from actual wear and tear from a long ownership, and the preworn.
Great video, I will have to say that while a 1 color outfit looks bad the all black color is an exception as it can be pulled off especially casually
So you’re hoping everyone eventually look the same and have the same style and no way of expressing themselves in their own way and feel comfortable in their own style? What a lovely world that would be.
i always found the one with the green ticks more boring and predictable than the ones with the the red crosses
Don't assume what kind of World would it be if you haven't lived in it.
@Doc Holiday ok you are contradicting yourself with every sentence made
No, they actually talk at great length about men making their own recognizable styles and rescissions. They are just against the garbage that has been coming out in increasing quantity since the 60s.
I wear a crossover Fanny pack, mainly at work, but I would lie if I said I haven't worn one on my free time. The extra pockets are always useful.
I enjoy watching the channel for the purpose that the channel name states, but you guys are not in any way experts when it comes to streetstyle, so I would refrain from speaking on it.
This comment right here, while I agree with some of their picks the overall bias this video has to one style is quite off putting.
for sure
I dont see much they were wrong on..except boxy 80s suits which are great compared to much since.
I gotta say, i'm a big fan of the sneaker dress shoes, though I wear them only for casual attire. They look sleek without compromising on the ability to go walk for 1-2 hours without your feet bleeding!
This channel's motive
MAKE MEN GENTLEMEN AGAIN!
The shots of the park in autumn with the spectacular outfits on display are just amazing. Just something I really liked, wonderful video
Love the witty, incisive takedowns of these fashion atrocities!

Love the Oscar Wilde quote!
Listening to you reminded me of all the conversations Bertie Wooster has with Jeeves over trendy outfits in P.G. Wodehouse stories!
Jeeves the absolute subtle sassmaster.
A good fanny pack always has its place, but, agreed, it has to be reasonable. If you need a bag every day, a small leather single strap back pack I find works well and compliments my styles from day to day
I enjoy your voice and how soft spoken you are.
Kyle really got to the point with these awful mens clothing trends! Very well presented with a nice pace and moderate. Don't think I saw anything I didn't agree with!
Agreed, I think he literally covered every current trend that infuriates me haha
he forgot socks and sandals
Lol you all are old farts
then your wardrobe must be pretty sad
Ah yes wearing a suit just to take a walk in the park. That's ridiculous. Being so conservative
Dude really hated on a bucket hat to suggest a fedora hahaha
He dresses like a real man, he is the first man I saw that doesn’t fall for trendy things like short pants with no socks
You know, I like the fanny packs, the sneakers, the florals, the Franken shoes, monochrome and the bucket hats. Depends on how you wear them.
Tailored cloths never go out of style.
Bucket hats for me I won’t part ways with it especially the Kangol and Jordan
My cole haan frankenshoes are first exceedingly comfortable, and go very well with a business casual look. Since I work in property management I know being presentable is important, but I also have to be prepared to walk alot and occasionally roll up my sleeves to get something done!
I have to agree with you. In general, form follows function. I respect Gentleman's Gazette's opinion and slant towards traditional style. However, our 21st century lives and livelihoods are slowly modifying and chipping away at traditional style forms, that while beautiful, are not as practical.
Hawiaan shirts will and always will be the top tier casual dress shirt
I found clothing that works for me, and I don't change my style. I find I come in and out of style, but I don't care, as I am perfectly happy.
Same here. For the past year and a half, I've been wearing plain Fruit of the Loom t-shirts, cargo jeans and a pair of Dickies work boots. It's just simple workwear, so nobody pays attention to it and I like that.
Gotta keep my bucket hats though, they serve their purpose in high summer heat and tough work environment.
“Frankeinshows” are extremely hit or miss, but sometimes very good hits.
It just depends.
Check out Carl Murawski. He does fashion advice for tradesmen.
So to everyone, just don't bother what anyone says. Wear what you like and what makes you confident
The one I really hate is the no-socks thing. You're wearing shoes? Then wear socks.
Eloquent and quietly spoken advice. Very good!
In Florida you need bucket hat.
Of course, that is why I went with the knitted upper...etc....get the silhouette without anyone thinking I was really trying to go more formal.
fun fact: Belgium/ the UK started the crossover fanny pack. They're useful during underground raves, it was not intended to bring them back. Sorry!
Really? When?
True, I feel like it was Belgium/UK and Germany that had them first and then it slowly began to spread overseas
Fanny packs have been a European staple
I don't see how they are a trend or a problem
@@fredleeland2464 ye this video is confusing and is only referring to formal situations
I'm working class, I like the look of the acid wash denim. Pairs well with my hi-viz vest. That said, the holes and shredded legs are obnoxious
"There's a utilitarian purpose"
I mean at that point just use a backpack. It looks less obnoxious, is more versatile, and overall is better than a bag full of stuff you can put in your pocket
In another comment someone said backpacks make you look like a shoplifter
Backpacks and messenger bags are simply too big for your every day leisure activities with friends. A quarter-filled backpack caving in on itself is not a good look
I had a brogue shoes from Timberland back in 90s. Upper suede and deep lug undersole. It perfectly fits your Franken Shoes definition but I was fond of it for my office wear and reflecting my true lifestyle.
Hmm, I thought I would object on one or two points but I pretty much agree with most of them
The light shade of humor is just perfect 😂. Top video
Kyle, you are very good at presenting these videos. Love your understated, elegant style, even in the way you talk.
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! The fanny pack, aka the hip pack, is awesome and amazing. I never let it go out of style and even helped start the trend with it over the shoulder...your welcome.
Sorry but I will continue to use my fanny pack thank you very much 😂.

A bucket hat is great at the beach, the pool or while fishing. That’s it.
The fact that Kyle is wearing skinny jeans kinda renders this whole video meaningless.
Those aren't skinny jeans, he's just a big guy, there's plenty of room in the knee and ankle.
I'd have to agree, the skinny looking denim seems silly
His outfit sucks no cap
As a man with zero fashion sense or care what i wear in public i find this interesting and informative.
3:18 cargo shorts supremacy. Unlimited pockets. Unlimited power
A Man-pri is my favorite style of climbing pant. Keeps your knees covered, isn’t too loose, and more air-y than pants. But yeah, I don’t pretend they are formal, or trendy.
Bucket hats are good for sun protection
UV protection > being in “style”
I agree. They serve a purpose protecting also your ears and neck as well as your nose and eyes from the sun above. Since they are soft they are also easy to fold and put in a pocket or a bag when not needed, which can be great e.g. when travelling.
This guy in the video is too much into aesthetic and not enough into purpose
I wear shirts with small floral prints and refuse to stop. Men deserve to have more pattern than stripes or plaid!
Nothing wrong with a piece of floral print, be it shirt or tie. The examples given showed a “flower all the things” approach which they were denigrating.
after watching whole video carefully, wear what you like to wear.
perfect video for guys who don't like fun and are afraid of being seen as feminine in any way
Could not find much rules that are anti-feminine.
Not just sports, but activities like gardening/mowing the lawn/washing the car. But not to be worn generally out in public.
@@dandiehm8414 It's funny, I had included those things almost verbatim, but left them out because I didn't want to be overly wordy. But that's it, there are flat caps and the like for casual dress, ball caps are not dress clothes.
