- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2000 AM General Hummer H1 Passenger Wagon. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

HUMMER
Interesting interior appointments. The ignition switch is vintage Ford, dating to 1970; the climate controls appear to be 1980's GM, while the remainder of the interior is straight out of the mobile home industry.
AM General is headquartered in Northern Indiana's RV/Mobile Home manufacturing region; perhaps they took a few design cues and borrowed the vehicles materials from there. It looks like a big mobile home on wheels!

NICE!! That's a really cool vehicle.
It's interesting to note that the dinger sounds exactly like the one in my Taurus (in tone, and how quickly tone repeats), it uses a Clarion CD changer, a GM faceplate for the rear stereo control, GM hvac control, etc.

What would the range be from both tanks full to empty auxiliary and 1/4 on the main tank?
Those are the last ones I liked.They still look utilitarian and purpose built, just that they slapped in some pretty seats, a radio, and a few other things to civvy it up a bit.

@josj15 aye a rebodied burb/tahoe. i love the geared hubs in this. ( reason why trans tunnel is SOOOO wide) all the drivetrain is inside it

@NTL1991 actually the H2 was made in Mishawaka Indiana, AM Generals other bases. the H3 is based in Louisiana which you are right.. H1 is made in california AM generals main Hub..
was there a seating conversion on this hummer? the last time i recalled there are only 4 seats in a hummer h1

but yeah there are some on ebay motors. A 2001 version is $50 grand and I saw a 97' for $38 grand. Pretty expensive

Hell pretty soon these are gonna be in demand again. In 2012, gas is supposed to be around 5.00 dollars a gallonand Diesel about3.50-3.80 dollars a gallon. I love these trucks!!

The H2 is based on the GMT800 platform, the same as the Escalade, Yukon, Silverado, etc. The H3 is based on the same platform as the Colorado and Canyon... The H1 is based on the actual HMMWV. It's the last real Hummer...

i heard that there is a new Humvee that will be in the market it is called the Humvee-C series and the difference between the C-series and the Hummer H1 is that this Humvee series is actually a used military vehicle that has been transferred into a civilian version, it is almost like the Hummer H1 but with AM General logo and not General Motor but it going to be very expensive because Hummer has been defunct
the Humvee-C will be $185,000 USD compared to the Hummer H1 $130,000 USD

Actually, they emit a gas called NOx. It's a recent discovery and may cause diesel cars to be forbidded in larger cities, specially in winter. Here in Norway atleast.

They really aren't as expensive as people think. You can find older H1's in the 25,000-40,000 range easily.
