After this last election here in the United States, I stopped watching the news channels and late night talk shows and guess what? My stress levels have gone way down. I'm making my plans to leave for Thailand hopefully next year. I'll be 63 yrs old and still in pretty good shape for an old guy. Your TH-cam videos are inspiring and have given me the balls to go for it and go find my paradise on earth. Thank you.

I am with you sir. Save and grow your money for early retirement. I retired in 2021 at age 54 and never looked back. And guess what, I have more money now, three full years after I had retired. It did not happen by accident, this was decades of planning my scape. As for enjoyment, I am good at that. The key is to entertain yourself, no help needed from anyone else.

You are absolutely correct about the 'disaster bias' on TH-cam. A channel I watched was a guy whose views went from a handful to thousands almost overnight. He stopped making vids of him and his dogs, and then started talking about all the problems he had. That was OK for me for a little while, but it just became too depressing.
We brought in a news blackout in my home when I was serving in Iraq - my kids didn't know I was there but obviously my wife did, and the constant 'news' stories that were coming out of there really affected her. When I came back after a year I really noticed how even local horror stories took up entire news bulletins and newspapers. I especially noticed the horrific content in the so-called 'news' reports on the car radio - murder, assault, etc. etc., when I was bringing the kids to school. Even to this day - 20 years later - we turn down the radio when the news comes on. I've often said that there should be a rule - 'No news is good news' before 10am. I haven't bought a newspaper in years - maybe I'll start when they bring out a 'positive news only' paper!

what in the world is really going on???????//
ten years retired in thailand with my treasured master black belt level meditating buddhist thai wife…i am going to do the temp ordination within the next 2 months.. 2 days prep at the small very poor temple in her home village in north thailand in the jungle/woods 1 hour from the laos border…there are 0 westerners within 100 miles
then 1 week in the temple to live exactly as a monk..shaved.. robed no internet/phone no contact with the outside world sleeping in a small room no a/c..people in the village will bring us food and water daily
no falang has ever done this in this temple in her home village..it’s the talk of the town there right now..🙏... stay tuned....vids to come
Nice! Keep us updated :-)

I wonder about me being retired after 12 hours of filming and editing haha :-)

Ooohhhh.... LOTS of things that you aren't "supposed" to talk about... Not just in TH-cam either!!
I was just there a few days ago.... back home now. Little girl had seizures, and was in the hospital. Now THAT is a tough nut to handle when you are half a world away!
True haha
Have a good week
How were your dongers and mash? 😂
Haha ! Love them!
