Good reaction. Colin got the same cupcake as Pen and was staring at her while eating and imagining what her lips tasted like.

08:17 It felt stupid because most people who have never faced imminent sudden danger think they know how they will react--even though they don't. In fact, most folks don't do the right correct and wise thing. They panic and freeze, then run and often not in the right direction. But if you've never experienced it, it seems "stupid" because you are judging someone else as lesser than what you think you are.
11:35 Quick explanation--for centuries wealth and power came from land. Kings and lords and knights, etc. were rich and could take part in politics, education, the church, wars etc. because of the land they owned. People paid them rents to work the land. They owned at least part of the food produced from that land, and as landlords they had enormous power over their tenants/serfs. Land-owners did not have to do any trade, i.e. run a business. By this time in history the merchant class had grown to be extremely wealthy, but socially it was still considered very low class to engage in any kind of trade. The Elite owned land and did was the Elite did--socializing, taking care of their estates (i.e. the land), politics, art, etc. If you inherited a title and remained in trade, this was a source of scandal. Because 1815 was a VERY different world from today.
12:09 Actually she does NOT know that. That is the whole point.
18:39 Have you not seen Season Two? Because Eloise is somewhat shunned in society for have long talks with a member of the working class. Most of these people are MAJOR bigots when it comes to money and class.
21:19 This is going to sound arrogant, but I keep hearing comments about too many plots and things like that, and I honestly wonder what the hell are any of you talking about? I have zero problem keeping up with all of these. They all are clearly setting things up and making comments on the main action. What is the problem? Why would anyone have any trouble at all keeping track? These stories are fairly simple and straightforward. Why the confusion? Hell, this is nothing compared to GAME OF THRONES or almost any Agatha Christie mystery.
23:01 People really did use the word "pregnant" in 1815. Besides, this is not historically accurate at all. For example, this whole series has been taking place during a really huge war the UK and its allies were having with France. No mention of that at all!
24:17 There are lots of rules. Some people break the rules. Sometimes they get away with it--especially if they are not caught.
25:05 I agree! So many people complain about that proposal, but for them that was perfect.

So fun fact about the clip when the Earl of Kilmartin says that he wanted to call on one of the daughters and Eloise moved away…..That wasn’t scripted. Claudia Jessie just moved away on her own, and they kept it in the final cut 😂😂😂

that honestly makes it more perfect 😂
