civilwildman Richter is just about as slow as Simon. His whip isn't capable of swinging in 8 directions, which actually forces you to use the subweapons you come across. I've not played Dracula X much, but Rondo of blood allows Richter to do a jump-backflip combo if you time both jump presses just right. You can also extend his whip slightly by double-tapping the direction he's facing right after you press the whip button. You also have what's called "Item Crash", which allows you to do a super attack with your held subweapon in exchange for a lot of hearts. Symphony of the Night doesn't star Richter, but you get a Richter Mode after you beat the game as Alucard. He plays much differently than in RoB, as you now have button combinations that you can enter to do special moves, and you can now run/sprint by double-tapping left or right. You still have item crash, also.

Makes me picture Jonathan and Charlotte leaping between the pointed rooftops of gothic church spires and clock towers. A crystal clear night sky is above while the warm glowing windows of a Victorian city are below.

It's been years since i played the game, and still i remember what a great game it was. I usually returned to the level where are ghost couples dancing all over the room and i used to play this ost during that instance, it really fits amanzingly.
As someone who grew up playing this game (literally. Started playing it around.. age 7-8) I am so happy that I can listen to the music again, because it just reminds me that I will be able to play the game again soon since I found my cartridge.
Burnt Paradise was more annoying than 13th Paradise lol That place didn't have fire skulls and swinging blades, although in 13th Paradise there were Nyxes and Mothmen that could poison you, Burnt Paradise also had Vice Beetles and Tanjellies
PoR is a sequel to Bloodlines, I'm surprised it didn't use more songs from the original. And yes, it's an awesome remix. And much better than the one used as Eric's theme in Judgement IMO.
Please don't say Bloodlines Fanboys ever again. Same can be said about the Super Castlevania 4 fanboys who actually think thats the best game in the series LOL. Just because Super Nintendo was more popular and people have nostalgia over that gane doesn't mean it is all that great. The graphics were dull and dark and the game did not have much memorable music until the final stretch of the game. The 8 directional whip also completely destroyed the feel of the classic vanias and made the game too easy.

This stage was so memorable. Not only because of the music but also thanks to the very atmospheric background graphics.
