I too am seeing hopes of a rate cut amongst investors. I was wondering if this is too optimistic. Let's say the Fed really cut, it will be in the range of 25 bps or so, for each cut. This isn't going to make a big difference for borrowers who have face interest rate rises of a few percentage points in the last couple of years?
Also, have they forgotten that many REITs have spread out their debt maturities so there is a delayed reaction where these old debts are yet to be repriced at the current interest rates. Even if the Fed cuts and assuming they cut by 25 or 50 bps this year, these old debts will be likely to be repriced much higher?
💯💯💯
Its time u can just hold t bills and ssb to retire lah!!
But I am already retired. OK, I know what you mean and I have been increasing exposure to T-bills.
Huat in SG Banks 😀 Interest rates are of our interest ... lolx
🥳🥳🥳
Interests rates likely will be cut. Look at banks can already, they are the forward indicators ?
Banks cut interest rates for savers. Borrowers still paying higher rates. Must invest in banks 🤭
Good News for SG Local Banks! 🤩
💯💯💯
US int rate almost back to highest and spore int rate of local banks went below 3% instead.
Our banks so clever to make money 😅
My T bond portfolio earns 3.5% but the capital loss is currently about minus 20%. Not a great investment, TBH..."Invest in Treasury bonds for a stable secure return" they said. Ha - do they guys said that still have a job?
When you buy T bill, you are suppose to hold for maturing. Not for capital gains. If you hold till maturity you get back 100% of your principal.
@@greentea1986 No I bought TB funds. C'est la vie - live and learn....

Is treasury bill still safe to hold?
AAA rated backed by Singapore government. I like. 🥳
@@A.Singaporean.Stocks.Investor. Sorry, i mean US treasury bills.
@@roupw303 I am frog in well. Only hold Singapore t bills. Don't know about the US ones 😅
US should not spend too much :D
Culture or habit? Hard to change. 🙊
Jpowell talk n never talk no difference
🤣🤣🤣
After more than a decade of easy $ coupled with benign inflation, this is payback time. Not so easy to bring inflation down to 2%. More time is needed.
People got drunk on cheap or free money. Payback time indeed. 🙊
As an investor, it is not about keeping a constant eye on inflation as what AK71 snd many others have hyped.
The trick is to hunt for the right company trading at an attractive or fair price, and then ride the storm. The profit will then roll in. 😊
