Thanks for the in-depth preview. I had my reservations as the look and tone felt like it hit checkboxes I wished they'd continue from previous games but I'm more intrigued now. How are they incorporating narrative from previous games? Should I play Inquisition again to have a save file to build from?
They aren't using save import or the dragon age keep for this, instead as part of character creation there's an edit choices button to see what decisions from Inquistion you can carry over and just make them there.
Your previous adventures mean less than human poop size. So it's a big le sigh. One of many reasons why this this Happy Tree Friends Graphics instalment is worth of max fifteen bucks.

@@noctoi there's people who hate on this game because they see the color purple and third gender in the character creator and then there's people who think the former ones are fucking dumb. Nothing to do with toxic positivity.
I’m actually hella disappointed that they decided to put wokeness into the game with the pronouns and all that malarkey but I’m focusing on other things to do with the game, gameplay, customisation etc. and I have no idea where toxic positivity came from, seems like people will find any reason or excuse to hate, no matter how petty.
Considering how combo heavy combat is companion choice are going to be limited by class if you want to play even a little optimally. Unless of course the game a breeze but enemies seems sponge enough to where combos are mandatory for a good game flow.
@@jonathanwinegeart4997 I hope the storyline allows for dwarves to become mages now like something happens with the titans or cos the veil is broken dwarves can suddenly connect to the fade.
I thought that was the funniest thing too being able to see them in Mage wardrobe that you just can't ever have lol. Maybe someday if there's some huge setting upset, but for now I gotta stick to my Warrior and Rogue options for Dwarf playthroughs.
yo, i see that import character option in the bottom right of the race selection. does that mean we gettin a character creation demo a la dragons dogma 2?
I believe BioWare has said they're looking into doing an early creator demo but haven't confirmed it, I can confirm though that you can import characters you've made for previous saves. So if you have a design you really like and want to do a new play through with it, you can just import the save rather than have to try and memorize sliders like in Inquisition lol
yeah, it's an adjustment and for me removes a bit of the party vibes I love in a lot of Real time with pause RPGs like the originals. Thankfully I also like Action RPGs so I can still like the combat in this one, but def a change thats gonna hit harder for some.
I hope this gentleman’s opinion hasn’t been influenced by the free trip to San Francisco for the game’s showcase (which other content creators, like Skill Up, did not do). Veilguard looks great, of course. The only thing I don’t like is the art direction of the character facial designs; they look cartoonish at times and lean towards the PEGI 13 threshold.
Skill up also has a positive review of the game though. So you're worried that this person has been influenced and they have a positive review of the game. But you aren't worried about skill up. Who also has a positive review of the game who you believe is not influenced. How can a facial design lean towards a PEGI 13 threshold. What's an M for mature face look like.
@@Grimjr7 Ralph Panebianco, the host of Skill Up, was one of the few who traveled on his own dime so that his opinion wouldn't be influenced by EA's hospitality. Veilguard is a relevant game, and I prefer to see the most objective information possible. A realistic facial design moves away from a broadly friendly approach, leaning toward a more genuine depiction of human anatomy. There are plenty of examples of this; CD Projekt are experts at it. Just look at how Rogue looks in Cyberpunk or any character in RDR2. When I say it leans toward a PEGI 13 threshold, I mean the facial symmetry is playful, with exaggerated proportions and unnecessarily touched up.
@@JeannieLove There is no evidence that anyone at Skill Up are right-wing grifters. Ralph doesn't create sensationalist content; his work is genuine, and he’s a well-educated Australian guy who isn't politically influenced. Besides, the other members are Jake and Lucy: both are objective journalists in the entertainment world.
You're free to come to whatever conclusions you like about my work, I clearly state how BioWare assisted me in being able to play this demo and people are gonna interpret that info as they will. I will say I'm enough of a homebody that getting on a plane to go to another city to play a demo is not my preference if there was just a way to play it remotely lol.
My problem with this game is the tone and the art style, both kind of ruin the experience for me. It's been leaning in this direction more and more, obviously Inquisition was cleaner, but I didn't like that either. This is that, but times ten. The characters look too clean, they don't look gritty, and combat is insanely flashy. I don't like it. It feels like the setting is ruined because of it, magic and the dangers of it, are meaningless now. Warriors, rogues, and mages, it's hard to tell the difference between any of them. A total miss of a game for me.
If it's linear and little exploration, where is the excitement in getting rare gear. I guess there isn't any randomness, not for the stats nor items in chests.. it seems it will be less exciting getting new gear, but maybe I missed something.
The combat is terrible and doesn't even deserve to be called tactical or RPG or anything like what is real fighting. Player somersaulting all over the place & jumping around 😵💫 If you are immature & have adhd, need instant explosions & sparks + you don't like struggling & managing with energy or ammo, then this is right in your alley. This fourth instalment in the series comes with Happy Tree Friends Graphics & le sigh combat mechanics. Also lil effort to strategies unlike in previous instalments. Worth of fifteen or so bucks 😟
You have zero Integrity for allowing yourself to be wined and dined. They pay for a flight they paid for your room and board, and they filled you with all happy happy thoughts on their own dime. Anything you say from here on out is Tainted
I'm genuinely hoping to be wrong. I really hope this game will be good. But even if it's amazing, a _lot_ of these people have proven themselves available for purchase; too many of the exact same talking points said in the exact same way to be a coincidence. So at the very least, it is nice to untrustworthy voices to show themselves for who they are.
Really? With Inquisition and Origins' character creators, you felt limited, fella? Really? Are you sure about that? In these games you _definitely_ played, you just felt so limited by the character creator which allowed you to mold every square inch of their faces, in a role playing game where the entire purpose is to create a character that you're going to be with for 100+ hours, you just went with the default presented to you? Mmm. One of two things is happening. A.) You're lying. B.) You actually did do that, and nobody needs to listen to you further, because you don't belong around RPGs, as you're not the type of person to actually be invested in them.
they are limited lol, yea you can slide the cursor but is it gonna get you a character you like? No, not usually. There's a reason why a lot of ppl use default Hawke if they don't use mods cus the character creator is ass. Tbh Origins had better character creation than 2 but that's my opinion. I say this as someone who makes my own ocs and puts backstories to my characters and why they look the way they do. The ability to make a good character in a dragon age game takes so much time because it IS limited. Ntm Inquisitions horrible hair choices, annoying ass lower jaw shapes and limited eyebrow and eye choices.
Ofc people felt limited by orgins. The sliders don’t do anything. And if they do, it just fucks up your character. The game is fugly, it’s good but it’s fugly. All the characters look the same and there’s like 4 armor sets. So yeah. It’s limiting.
@@ibdustin15 I'm willing to go along with this being sarcasm, but dwarves not being mages has been in the lore from day one, so using that as your opportunity for a jab mostly just serves to show others you haven't played the games. No hate, though, I get that it was in jest.

I respect the fact some reviewers might still like this game and that perfectly fine. But for ppl that hate this game because of the pronoun and transgender BS I 100% agree too but let's hate the game for it on to others just like game Devs are doing to us. Alot of the normies don't understand what is happening with DEI trying to insert themselves into our beloved game franchise.
The reviews aren't likeing it they are just payed shills that were followed out, wine and dine and provided access ahead of the launch for reviews. And of course they are greatfull for all this and as a thank you to bioware they will put out what the company tells them to put out. The formula of these reviews are. Character cration with major focus on the bs side of it that is more relevant in a sims game then to DA, bonus points if you mention the hair, then the combat wich is awesome inovating bla bla bla, not one reviewer i heard up until now said the combat looks bad( wich it does with all the epileptic particle effects) and finally the story wow it is so engaging it is so awesome the characters are so well done bla bla bla. That is the format all these shill reviewers put out at basically the same instant. As for people complaining, they don't have a problem with DEI. Based on past experiences from big companies and other beloved franchises that is an heavy idicator the game is going to suck the story will be bland and nonsensical, the characters they prance around will be only LGBT stereotypes (not actual people with goals personalities etc nope reduce to just a quirck to ostentatiously show their gender, orientation or whatever superficial crap, wich is ironic and makes them the racist, bigots and homophobes) and we already know the combat is a garbage tier mobile experience type with the UI to match. Seing that even normies don't bite anymore (see outlaws and the 400 million flop called Concord), this will fail as well. And it will keep happening until they make a good game and not bring divisive topics and actually be racist and sexist towards what have been most of their audience for decades.

@@Evantrop two things first thing I don't know if you seen anime or not because this game doesn't look like anime. Don't know why that's even a statement. Second question and more serious this. I don't really care if you answer the first part. Why does this game not playing like dragon age origins matter? I asked this because this game is not a direct sequel to dragon age origins. This game is a direct sequel to Inquisition. I find it weird that all the people who keep bringing up origins expected this game to be like origins logically that was never going to happen. If you have a franchise with a multiple sequels you don't make one of the future sequels the same as the first game in the franchise. Resident evil 9 Is not going to play like resident evil 1. Resident evil 2 Remake was a completely different design then the original resident evil 2. My point is it wasn't even a one-for-one recreation and it was a remake. You guys are expecting a sequel that is four games in to be like the First installment. No game that I can think of that has multiple games in a franchise does this so I don't know why you guys are so adamant that this sequel should be like the original. Le Sigh. Problem with top surgery scars is that, according to the sliders, boobas just aren’t big enough to be worth a reduction in that universe. Sliders have no effect to any body part & every female character stays at plank cup size. Giggidy for Scout Harding's Apple on da Throat.
Thanks for the in-depth preview. I had my reservations as the look and tone felt like it hit checkboxes I wished they'd continue from previous games but I'm more intrigued now. How are they incorporating narrative from previous games? Should I play Inquisition again to have a save file to build from?
Only if you need a reminder of choices. You input it manually in the character creator.
They aren't using save import or the dragon age keep for this, instead as part of character creation there's an edit choices button to see what decisions from Inquistion you can carry over and just make them there.
Your previous adventures mean less than human poop size. So it's a big le sigh. One of many reasons why this this Happy Tree Friends Graphics instalment is worth of max fifteen bucks.
yes, it feels like every class is a mage, but with different weapons sets :D
The haters are out in full force in this comment section lol
They're in every comment section about this game, it's really fucking annoying
Yeeeeah, happened with my first video reacting to the gameplay reveal at SGF as well. I can get some of the salt coming from the genre change, but the other types of negative comments...oof.
Mmmm, yes. On both sides... but hey, nobody gives a toss about toxic positivity right?
@@noctoi there's people who hate on this game because they see the color purple and third gender in the character creator and then there's people who think the former ones are fucking dumb. Nothing to do with toxic positivity.
I’m actually hella disappointed that they decided to put wokeness into the game with the pronouns and all that malarkey but I’m focusing on other things to do with the game, gameplay, customisation etc. and I have no idea where toxic positivity came from, seems like people will find any reason or excuse to hate, no matter how petty.
great review. i liked
Do you remember what passives you invested into to make your Mage abilities cost so little?
So when you are exploring, they just show your single character on screen? Only in combat do you see your companions?
The character creator looks really cool can’t wait to create my character
Considering how combo heavy combat is companion choice are going to be limited by class if you want to play even a little optimally. Unless of course the game a breeze but enemies seems sponge enough to where combos are mandatory for a good game flow.
Very interesting they preview a mage dwarf even though its not playable.
Right? Is it just me or does that lock over it scream unlockable. Maybe later in the game or on a new game plus or something.
Not an rpg. It's action adventure with a dating sim mixed in.
I didn´t mind the open areas in Inquisition but having linear but beautifully crafted level? Gimmeee
Yo wtf. I’ve never seen the top of his head before
That happens on this channel lol
You got screwed by the focus on hair in the character creator.
Very disappointed you don't get to control the whole party and set behavioral priorities.
Cry about it
yeah, it's an adjustment and for me removes a bit of the party vibes I love in a lot of Real time with pause RPGs like the originals. Thankfully I also like Action RPGs so I can still like the combat in this one, but def a change thats gonna hit harder for some.
@iam not crying about it. I just won't buy it. Simple. You enjoy your mediocre game.
After all the horrendous bloat in inquisition, these changes are welcome. I don’t want to play an MMO again.
They still got to play early, of course that's gonna color them. I also don't trust a single thing Skill Up says. He's a right wing grifter.
I think bioware paid for this video. Not subbing. Definitely have different tastes in games.
you finally can create a character with your head shape 🥚
Cheers 😂
these ''Randal''-Bodyshapes make my face tired.
If it's linear and little exploration, where is the excitement in getting rare gear. I guess there isn't any randomness, not for the stats nor items in chests.. it seems it will be less exciting getting new gear, but maybe I missed something.
Kevin 😂 yow 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Let the haters have there 20 min of shame i mean fame
The combat is terrible and doesn't even deserve to be called tactical or RPG or anything like what is real fighting. Player somersaulting all over the place & jumping around 😵💫 If you are immature & have adhd, need instant explosions & sparks + you don't like struggling & managing with energy or ammo, then this is right in your alley. This fourth instalment in the series comes with Happy Tree Friends Graphics & le sigh combat mechanics. Also lil effort to strategies unlike in previous instalments. Worth of fifteen or so bucks 😟
Agree 10,000% this is NOT an rpg in any meaningful way. It's an action adventure game for the youngsters.
You have zero Integrity for allowing yourself to be wined and dined. They pay for a flight they paid for your room and board, and they filled you with all happy happy thoughts on their own dime. Anything you say from here on out is Tainted
The companions are horrible. Im not buying it for that reason.
I dislike SO, so much about this addition to the DA franchise... but the costumes are stunning... Except that lycra blue shirt, that's just odd 🤣
I cant wait for the game to come out and all these reviewers lose all of their credibility
What a joke bioware has became. This game is Trans propaganda
I agree
A man can be a woman but a dwarf can’t be a mage?
Found the tourist
Way to show you've never played the games lol What a stupid question
Have you played previous games? Its explained in the lore why they cant be mages.
People don’t understand sarcasm apparently.
@@ibdustin15 I'm willing to go along with this being sarcasm, but dwarves not being mages has been in the lore from day one, so using that as your opportunity for a jab mostly just serves to show others you haven't played the games. No hate, though, I get that it was in jest.
First
Congrats!
and we all know if you say unfavorable things about them, youre not getting that swanky invite again next time. so downvote. this dude has been bought.
So he's been bought because you don't agree with him. You do know that there are people in the world who like things that you don't like. You have no evidence of anything other than he disagrees with me and since I believe I'm right he must be lying. Even though we're talking about something that is totally just opinions.
I downvoted you. That's what you wanted, right?
hey so come to whatever conclusions you want, I just wanna note that the funniest thing about using the term "bought" is implying I like having to get on a plane and go somewhere specifically to play a demo I wish I could just do at home lol
@@NextSideQuest I don't believe that that person Is being honest. Because if all else we're the same but you had a negative review about the game. I don't think he would be saying you were bought. He already has his mind made up about the game and you disagree with him essentially by liking it. He sees an easy anchor to latch on to to discredit you. So that's what he goes with.
@@Grimjr7 your argument only works if another person who went there gave a bad review but it just so happens no one did.
@@DarkMessia67 Skill Up has a positive review & they weren't paid. Y'all already made up ur minds to dislike the game, no matter what & dismiss any positive outlook the game gets 😂
@@animegamergeek1427 People don't like the game based on clear objective facts easy to see. Y'all, sorry Y'few are the ones thag are hopeful and refuse to accept clear and real facts on why the game is bad you just sit in your ecochamber running defense for a big corporation that only care to get your money.
Like every body else Skill up was in San Francisco at the bioware events. Yes he refused to get free plane tickets but he had the benefit to participate in the event, he was wined and dine and most importantly he got access ahead of time to play the game and put a review out wa ahead of anyone else that didn't get an invitation. All of that is compensation, having access to the game it clearly sets expectations that skill up shouts bioware propaganda check list like they want it or he will not recieve access in the future. Whil skill up benefits from increased trafic to their socials, add revenue in the thousands/video so we are likely talking tens of thousands by the time this game flops and due to the increased traffic generated by the game better sponsor deals.
So yeah come back when you're done praising a company that makes garbage and doesn't care about you.
Are they forcing you to buy anything or play as a trans character? You guys live in bitterness for nothing lol
@@JVquartiero it is funny how people say in the comments that you shouldn't complain and wait for it to come out and play it first before you say something about it if not you're a biggot.(oh and that implies to buy the game)
And comming with such acusation just because I don't praise the game is very bigoted of you. If you read my comment you would notice I have no problems with adding inclusive elements to the game (except the scars since we are talking about a game where you can be any gender you like but the devs wanted to say no you can't and even in a game here is something to remind you of what you can never be). And if it so inclusive then tell me why can't my rougue dwarf can't have a dump truck of an ass? Why am I renegated to a plank size? Not very inclusive.
And before you say anything else that is stupid, have you played Baulders Gate 3? It had tons of DEI. Have you heard anything bad about it? No because it was a good game that pushed forward a gaming experience not an agenda of some buthurt ppl that don't know what to do with their lives (aka people that claim to be part of or support lgbtq community just for virtual signaling). The DEI was just part of BG3 respectfully integrates and guess what it was one of the best games of last year, it defenetly was the best RPG without a question. So cool down and stop protecting what is clearly a bad game.
Anime graphics.Combat looks good but not for people who played dao.
I am more wanna see the story and if there is some choices.
I don't even actually care that you guys think it should be. I don't know why you think it would to be.
This is NOT anime, persona is anime.
Played origins and the combat is what i dislike the most about it , so to me the combat changes are perfect.
The art style is not what would prefer, but also dont like the persona anime esthetic yet i love the games 🤷.
😂😂😂anime😂😂😂
See how there mad you are open to buying the game but only after vital parts are shown. They know the game is weak so anyone not automatically cashing out on the game via pre order is an enemy
Nothing like anime 😂
I've played Origins & I've think Veilguard is for me. Combat us way better than Origins combat.
They did show a story trailer & there's another video out now showing part of the story.
