Must say I prefer the Irongear neck and middle clean, as you say less muddy though I'd guess maybe some EQ could make them sound closer. I probably preferred the Tonerider bridge clean though not dirty.

Yeah you are right, but the tonerider sounds good with tone on 10, but if i roll back the iron pigs is also good.

Our ear percieves the louder and brighter sounds as be better. But…
I had the iron gear pig iron ones and I found them a bit too bright. You can turn off the treble, but if you keep touching the treble button in every situation with every amp, it means it’s too bright.
Toneriders, however always have impressed me with being just bight enough without sexually assaulting my eardrums.
It’s always about perspective and having a reference. That’s why it’s impossible to hoose wisely if you’re just listening to videos on youtube.

Let me ask ...did you install a .47 mfd cap on the tone??? Or is it still a .22 on it???? I ask due to if you install the larger cap as you should the tone Riders will be a good bit BRIGHTER !!!!!

    I shouldn't have sold
    1. Jimi Hendrix MIM Strat , I didn't deserve it at the time as I couldn't play as well as I play now but regret selling it to this day !
    2. 1st run Slash Epiphone ( rare now )
    3. Loaded pickguard with Dominger Hippie Pickups , best sounding pickups I've ever owned , only sold as I thought they sounded too much like SRV !!!!! What an asshole !!!
    4. Vintage Series Fender body I bought off Reverb for £120
    5. HX Stomp
See a pattern there ! I'm an asshole when it comes to buying and selling gear !

To me ..the Tone Riders sounded more clear ..maybe less punchy but clearer.....man if you haven't tried the Tone Riders City Limits II p/us ..I THINK they would be what you're looking for without spending Seymour Duncan money ...hahahaha
