Got a set of these Toneriders on my desk waiting for me to install to replace a set of Vintage Noiseless pickups. You're making these sound great here.
Thanks. I recently decided to swap them out for a set of Fender 4th gen noiseless. It took less than a week for me to put the TR pickups back in! I really think they are great sounding and great value for money.
My next plan ist to either buy an Ibanez AZES31 or a JET JS300 - and then replace the pickups by toneriders. I am using a tonerider alnico blues II pickup on my Tele and am completely happy with it :-). The vintage pickups you used are exactly what I was looking for.
Good luck. I'm still using them to this day. I swapped out the body for a hard tail strat which feels much nicer. At one stage I actually put in Fender Gen 4 noiseless pickups but changed straight back to the toneriders - they are great.
Hello! This is one of the best videos I've seen reviewing these pickups, they sound great to me. I would like to ask you if you have ever had the opportunity to try the Fender 57/62 and the SSL de Seymour Duncan, and say how these toneriders compare to them. I would really appreciate your answer, greetings from El Salvador and sorry for my bad English
Hi. Thanks for the feedback and your English is great! I haven't tried the 57/62 or SD pickups but I did swap these for the latest Fender noiseless gen 4 pickups. After about 2 weeks I went back to the Tonerider :). They are great value for money and great sounding
Just FYI, if you want to install vintage tuners on a headstock that has 10mm holes drilled, Kluson sell conversion bushings that are indistinguishable from the normal ones.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. The large headstock is classic, I love the look and feel. I'll try and post an updated video since I swapped the body to a hard tail and it's made a huge difference.
@@jobamigaful I have a ht squier and as you said the sound seems to me different from the one with tremolo, I’m now trying to order full ht size strat body to make my project, strats are the best guitars in the world IMO, please do post
Hey Jonathan, been dealing with Northwest many times now and im always happy with their products. Just a heads up! You can use conversion bushings for the tuners so you can use the vintage ones 🤩😊 Nice vid and nice playing! 👌
got two of the city limit single coils on the way to be paired with a octane humbucker i already have. just have to decide what solderless system i'm going to get. should be a fun project. nice playing.
@@jobamigaful I also enjoy guitar related projects but I am very slow in completing them. I like to find an underdog of sorts, or any lesser quality piece, and and finding ways to improve it. I have Strats but my latest acquisition is a Squier SE in great condition. I have everything I need to rebuild it but I haven't started yet because I have an amp build that has been occupying my time. However, I am getting very anxious to get the amp done so I can rebuild the Squier. I really want to hear them together. Squiers and Strat copies are excellent for learning, testing and playing. Best wishes from San Antonio, Texas, USA.
@@Slugg-O Absolutely agree. The best builds are the unexpected ones with budget parts. You can get some really cool results. Good luck with the amp build. That's already out of my skill set :)
Thanks. Have been playing on them for a while now and they still sound great. I actually swapped out the body for a squire hardtail fiesta red and it's even better now in terms of stability and playability.
Great guitar and sound. Did you say you used northwest guitars? I used to use them a lot and have always been tempted to put one together, how'd the neck feel? I know you said you had some trouble getting it to fit, but after that, did it fit well? Thank you!
Hi. Yes I used northwest guitars and I am really happy with the neck. There may be a small bit of adjusting to do to get the neck just right but a small amount of sanding will do the job. After the first build I redid the guitar with a Squier hard tail body and that has been fantastic
I put tonerider vintage pickups in a telecaster and they were the best telecaster pickups I’ve ever heard.
I'm still playing with them today and they sound fantastic
I’m considering these Pure Vintage and hearing the tones your playing I’m convinced I’m on the right track.
Hi - I've had these in my guitar for years now and played with them in a show last week. They are still sounding fantastic. Good luck!
Love the color, it's super flash.
Got a set of these Toneriders on my desk waiting for me to install to replace a set of Vintage Noiseless pickups. You're making these sound great here.
I did a partscaster some years ago with matching headstock in orange, luv it! Very 60's ish. Compliments on your playing.
Love the color and it sounds good too. I prefer the City Limits pups.
Cant go wrong with Toneriders🤟👍🎸
Yep - I actually got a set of Fender Noiseless Gen 4 and after a week I put the toneriders back in.
Very Nice Review. I am sold on these TR Pups.

That's a lovely looking guitar. Orange-y and all. Very, very cool.

Thanks. I actually ordered a conversion set a few weeks ago.
Great sounding guitar and great playing too
Great taste in playing and perfect tones display!
Thanks! Appreciate it. The guitar in the video has undergone some changes but the pickups have stayed the same and still sounding great.
i,m planing to order the large headstock 70s neck from them, seems really good quality. your guitar is amazing mate

Hi - thanks. That's exactly what I did.
Nice playing....looking for some pickups. May choose tonerider because of decent price and good sound......
I'm really happy with them so far. I think they are great value for money. My nicest sounding ones are my Fender custom shop 69s
Thank you for the video, sounds great!
I’m buying a set for my classic vibe 60’s strat, right now.
Classic vibe comes with tonerider pickups as stock
Already have them but may be surfaris.
@@1redgate8 it came with the late 60’s ones. Didn’t sound like a strat in position 2 and 4 in my opinion
Sound great excellent built 👍

Sounds good. I guess solderless is much easier but then there is no fear or excitement involved ;)
VERY nice guitar and with a classic tone. Thank you for taking time to do this.
Sure. Always fun to work with your hands and create. I recently swapped the body to a Squier hard tail which has made it even nicer.

Wow a Dukes Of Hazard guitar! Nice vid btw.
Sounds very nice. It would be nice to know how that was recorded and the gear used.
Such lovely playing. Your touch really brings out the best. Putting these in my SX when it arrives, my project guitar.
