Technically, LGBT couples could still hold a ceremony and have a party and all that, but if they're not recognized by law, then their marriage is legally less legitimate than the Otaku marrying his waifu, which is rather sad. However, the argument is flawed if the "marriage" of the waifu guy is not legally binding. It's still sad that LGBT folk can't get married in Japan though.

I lived in Japan and then in Korea, and I kid you not, when I came back to Europe I noticed how bad my mental health was starting to become. Definitely toxic. Friendly people, but toxic system!

Really hope this won't affect their entertainment/media industry such as anime, manga, light novels and video games. From what I heard, the mangaka did far better for their LGBTQ characters than how the US portray them nowadays. Really hope this won't affect their entertainment/media industry such as anime, manga, light novels and video games. From what I heard, the mangaka did far better for their LGBTQ characters than how the US portray them nowadays.
