- Recently we've seen players invited to the Cataclysm Classic closed Beta for World of Warcraft Classic. As we begin to draw closer towards the release of Cataclysm classic, it's not been confirmed what the specific date is that we will get to see Cataclym's changes in Classic World of Warcraft once again. However, with some recent evidence in mind, we can try take a good guess at when we will see Cataclysm Classic. So, when can you expect to see Cataclysm Classic? Let's find out.

Hopefully we get pre-patch between april/may and Cata release in june.
But looking at the state of Beta, its the most broken unplayable Beta I've ever seen, everything is broken, even WoD Beta wasn't as broken, so I'm afraid pre-patch is still 2+ months away.

I mean we have already been in beta for two and a half weeks, they still need to add the high level areas and dungeons/raid, is that 2 or 3 more weeks of testing maybe? I think almost two months of beta (March/April) will be enough. They have activated the Gnomeregan/Zalazane retaking events too so that has to be a clue. My bet is Pre-patch in May, exp in June.

We just got the gnome/troll event. If i remember back to cata release. The pre patch came 3-4 weeks after that patch. Meaning pre patch end april and cata release around June
Would match up with the previous 3-month cycle from Beta to Full release! 🙌🏻

So if they follow the original way for cata pre patch. Operation gnomeregan lasted 1month then pre patch was released. I generally see this happening. That is why the beta was focused on leveling and the 1 to 80 bracket and new talent trees
Im thinking 9th or 13th of june as cata release. Pre-patch 6-8 weeks before that.
Looking at how they did back in retail cata prepatch it was released 2 weeks after the Gnomeregan/zandalari patch. Which would line up quite well with my prediction
looking at that timeline it shows rage of the firelands in early autumn were not going to get a month of the first raids and have firelands drop thats not logical. Realistically the way that timeline looks i can't see the release being any later than the 2nd week of June based on there road map and pre-patch can come out while the beta is still live and the 80-85 content and raid testing can all be done while the pre-patch is out. So as far as pre-patch goes im thinking most likely thinking either 3rd or last week of april but it could be sooner than that

Drop the pre-patch at the end of April and release the exp early june. I think having it for 5-6 weeks will generate the hype and allow them to work out the bugs

Nothing confirmed yet - hopefully May so we get a June release date 🤞🏻

Absolutely no way they leave it till august. That would murder the entire player base and essentially grenade any enthusiasm they would build up. That said it wouldnt surprise me that they'd pull a self fulfilling profecy like that and cripple the game from the get go.
I sure hope not too, but I’m probably too pessimistic!

same. im thinking of resubbing for this after not having played in nearly 5 years. cata was my first expansion i played.
If they dont release until late july / august im gonna go made, im so tired of doing re clears of ICC and RS already lol
hear me out. minpojke one of the most known classic pvp'ers (tbc and wotlk and previously a retail top pro) said the pvp season will end may 6th. im not sure if this was confirmed somewhere but if a guy of his caliber says that, i feel like he has insider info if its not confirmed anywhere. anyhow, it continues here. the current event was originally released a month before cata pre-patch in original wotlk which would lineup very well with his information of the pvp season ending may 6th. the last pvp season in tbc ended monday before wotlk prepatch on wednesday (for EU) which would mean we are getting prepatch tuesday may 7th for NA and wednesday may 8th for europe. i think blizzard this time around will let the prepatch run a little longer then in tbc and wotlk but its a start, its something to look forward to for a guy like me that has been raiding icc for close to 30 weeks now on 3 characters each week!

Cataclysm is already "classic"? ROFL!
Cata is NOT classic wow! That was the point when the game started going off the deep end, shit getting dumbed down like talents, fucking RAID FINDER, every xpac the XP rate going up and up to the point where levelling might as well not exist, even without looms. I remember the days when leveling was an adventure and you'd get a little further everyday, it made me care about the character(s) I made and it made the game feel like a big open world as it should.
Every xpac Cata onwards all Blizzard wanted to do was rush players to endgame, now there is over 100GB of content added to the game and yet the world feels SMALLER than ever.
What are we gonna have after Cata classic? Panda classic? Fucking warlords classic?
In 10 years time when Blizzard run out of xpacs to rerelease will we end up with WoW Classic: Classic?
Will Blizzard just keep re-releasing shit each year, reminding us of when times were good?
Please Blizzard, I beg of you, stop at Cataclysm classic. For the love of God please. It's time to stop.
they wont stop, as long as they can earn money from new expansions bundles, they will keep on. Money hungry Blizzard now :)
Many of us love and miss cata. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen.
@Ohwowamazing Don't try and pretend Cata was part of the holy trinity of WoW's classic era - vanilla, TBC and wrath.
Cataclysm xpac was the beginning of the end of the glory days of the game and you know it. The sub numbers from back in the day reflect this.
As such, you can't seriously tell me that a re-release of Cata is worthy of having the 'classic' label slapped on it.
Yeah we still had fun playing wow during Cata, more fun than we've had with the later xpacs, but that is comparing an ok game to the absolute dumpster fire we have now, of course you'll still miss Cata in comparison.
@@gabrielwalker421 I dont get why you classic andies have to hate on a expansion that you yourself jst said you enjoyed. We already went through classic wow/tbc/wotlk, now its catas turn. You should jst enjoy the ride instead of hating for no reason.
@@Ohwowamazing Yes I enjoyed the game to an extent but Cataclysm was when wow went from a great game to a just ok game. Like you can still have some fun with a just ok game but it still won't compare to the enjoyment a great game will give you and Wrath had the formula at or very close to perfection. Don't try and deny that.
What you are saying reminds me of when I'm watching an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, and the owner of the failing restaurant says the food must be good because they haven't received any complaints about it, like I said look at the sub numbers of the day they do not lie
