Earlier i was bit confused about taking a used KTM's as am moving from RE (6 years ) to KTM ...i was planning to buy duke 390 used one... this video actually gave me a confidence to select a good bike...even though i am not good at technical part but ur video is enough for me to understand about this bike at this stage...thanks for uploading

In my opinion its too hard to get a bs3 390 with this condition like u explained for sale. I think we need to compromise certain things ( except major issues like engine problems) while buying an old 390 and we need to take care of the small small problems by servicing or replacing the items. Like that only i have done in 2022 😊
Me too. I bought one looking the outer conditions. But after one long ride I got to know the engine had issues. Now have to spend extra bucks.

I have found a 2017 registered bs3 duke 390 in a good condition with all the hardware working fine. The engine however has a mild humming or whistling sound coming from it though and I don't know if that is a good sign. The Owner is asking for 1.4 lakhs as the last price. Is it worth it to buy the bike at that price??
The whistling/ humming sound from the bike could be due to a vacuum leak please check the air filter intake pipe/box for cracks.
Also i feel 1.4 is a bit too much try finding one around 1.1-1.2 L

Bro duke 125 is a good bike but on highways and ling routes you may feel like it lacks power and cruse capability , in my opinion if you can for duke 250cc as it's good for touring and a better option than 125

But a good condition bike would cost you about 1L - 1.20L

Yes bro it's a good deal ! But make sure engine has no extra works ! Otherwise 1L for BS4 2016 390 is a good deal :)

@@prudv2716 bro if the bike is serviced regularly there won't be any engine seize problem , make sure you ask for service history from first owner before buying.

Are the 2015-2016 390's good for riding a bit in bangalore traffic (other than weekend touring), considering the heating issues?
Is it that much noticeable on the shins during traffic?
Yeah you'll feel the heat if you're in shorts definitely , recommend to wear jeans or something full length....

@@shraeychikker694 I haven't personally faced any stalling , keep an eye on coolant levels and make sure radiator fans are working effectively .... In order to avoid stalls due to overheating

Yes you can buy but make sure you check the bike out well , bs3 has a unique raw feeling as compared to the bs4 and bs6 models

Yes that's another thing you should consider ! Hold the disk between two fingers and check for dents and abnormal grooves ! Also check brake pads

I am getting heat issues bro .. if I ride in city bike is turning off and after 10 mins it's starting another 2kms bike is getting stopped. I don't know wheather fan problem or radiator problem or fan speed.. because I rided 300km in highway no problem. When it comes to city I am getting engine off usually in moderate traffic.
Check the coolant , try doing a complete coolant flush , also check for radiator damage and fans.....

How many kms have you done so far?..its heard that the engine fails after 35k kms...how is your experience so far?
This bike had done 12k kms , but engine won't fail you of you service on time , engine oil change and engine flush from time to time is suggested !

It's a sweet deal but always beware when the deal is too good ! Do all the proper checks given in the video and more importantly check if any loan is pending on the bike or if the bike is accidental or stolen. Also check paper work! Good luck 🤞🏻

Never go for an 2014 Model go only for models with 2015 which is Slipper clutch models.

390 till 2016 has same underbelly exhaust as 200 2017 duke has the exhaust you are talking about

@@swazinazi1454 got a 2014 model with 27k on odo for 80k. Outer conditions were good, new tyres etc. Short ride was fine too. But as soon as I bought that and when on 80km long ride, cam head started giving loud tik tik noise, and engine oil started leaking. White smoke was there too. I got conned 😔

How to check abs working properly ??
Take the bike to a reasonable speed 40-50 kmph
And jam the brakes ( if dual channel press both breaks, if single channel press one )
The bikes wheels should not lock. As the bike starts skidding while pressing thr brakes the abs will get active and brakes will be released . This will happen a few times in quick succession until the bike completely stops. In short while coming to a halt your bike should not skid or wheel hop.
Ps- this is not s foolproof method to check ABS but it's the most basic way to tell if the abs sensors are working. Also wear a helmet and take precautions while testing out ABS. It maybe risky if ABS is faulty. Also do additional research online. Thanks
