    Hi. I believe these issues are much common in KTMs and Dominars.
    Never heard about these issues with Yamaha R15 or CBR250 😐
    I've seen even 2008 Yamaha R15 engines running successfully without any engine oil and coolant mixing issues.

    KTM BIKES
    Advantages - GREAT fun riding ( High Revving ).
    Disadvantage - Quick wear and tear ( NOT Reliable ).
    SO, Riders It's your Decision...
    Whether to Choose KTM or go for other Bike's companies...
    DON'T WORRY : You have many options..
    MY ADVICE TO ALL :
    Go for " any " JAPANESE MOTORCYCLES eg. YAMAHA, HONDA, KAWASAKI, SUZUKI etc. had already earned Respect, name and fame for RELIABLE engines and SMOOTH riding.

    Quite helpful podcast...I had an issue last service wherein the boy at KTM service who was washing my bike, to clean my chain opened the front sprocket cover but jet sprayed all over with the hose without the bolts 😢 started the engine and to clean the chain, all I could do then was to change the engine oil, though haven't faced any issue for a week now but will that affect my bike later cause high compression engines are fun but gets damaged easily too. Could you please educate us all about this issue too that has forever been bugging us KTM riders.

    I have recently changed my liquid coolant. But the level always Differentiate. When the bike is warmed and heated up the coolant level will be near max. And when the engine is shutt off and leave for it to cool the level goes back to between min and max.. is this a concern..?

  • @whiteshadow7892

    At how much km intervals should we change engine oil in D400 ?
    At how much km intervals should we flush coolant ?
    At how much km interval should we adjust shim ?
    When should we change all the gaskets and oil seals so that coolant and Engine oil doesn't mix ?

    • @jakgt500
      @jakgt500 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oil and oil filter change should be done every 7500km or 1 year whichever is earlier(company recommended). But if you can afford it, then it's better to get it changed every 5500-6000km this interval is better suited for our country
      Coolant should be completely changed every 2 years
      Tappet check at 3 service and then every year from then but sadly for KTM engines to do this job comfortably the engine has to be lowered so KTM service centers do not do it in India.
      From statistics it can be seen that KTM engine's coolant pump seals fail after 20000-25000km so even if it doesn't fail its better to replace it as a preventive maintenance. Ive personally done this job even though the seal of my 390's engine did not fail. Nowi don't have to worry for another 20k km.
      Just as added information. Air filter change every service or atleast every year, Fuel filter every year, brake oil change every 2 years atleast and suspension oil every 2 years.

    If bike is parked at night for 9 10 hours and people are concerned about warm up engine next morning but why it doesn't go same if bike is parked at day in parking in office hours for sale amount of time? Why they don't need to warm up engine after parking bike for same amount of time? Because in both situations engine components are dry due to oil being in below surface

    Dear Vikas,
    I'm Lenin from Thrissur, Kerala.
    I ve a question on decarbonising for my bike.
    My bike is Bajaj Avenger 220 street 2017make model. It clocked 52000kms, it had crossed 17k kms when I bought it from previous owner. Last week I got it decarbonised at town side service center with all sophisticated machine over there. After it was done ,I got PUC, pollution test for my bike. When compared with PUC report of last year I saw a drastic change in emission in PUC of post decarbonising. Carbon monoxide, other emission came down to minimal numbers.
    But I didn't find the bike to be as fresh as decarbonising advertisement claimed.
    My questions: Should I get my bike decarbonised in every next 7k or 10k kms or after next 20/30/50k kms? Will decarbonising give longer life to 4 stroke bike?
    Some people say, high performance bikes like R15,ktms need decarbonising. Bajaj Avenger doesn't need it. Decarbonising dealer asked me to come for decarbonising in every 6000kms .Wham to listen to? Bajaj company didn't tell to decarbonise. What is the truth.

    Hey vikas… i have been contemplating on installing the powertronic fuel x pro module on my 390 adv. To compensate for the lack of low end torque. Basically what it does is it dumps more fuel engine runs richer. Is it a good idea? Brutally honest opioid

    • @jakgt500
      @jakgt500 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you ask someone to hold your bike straight when checking? If yes, then top it up with some more oil of the same grade. If you got your bike serviced at KTM then they will sometimes not put the entire amount. I have seen this first hand when they worked on my bike in Kerala. Also MOTUL 7100 has a problem of vaporising due to heat so the oil level drops of you do long continuous rides. So you have to top it off from time to time. If all of this is not the problem then there must be a crack in some seal or casing which is causing the drop in levels.

    Mine is Duke 200, my coolant level is getting low after i ride for about 250kms. Coolant is not leaking from anywhere. Also the engine oil is not mixing...it is still red in colour.Have changed the coolant seals once. what will be the issue. Please reply Vikas Sir.

    • @jakgt500
      @jakgt500 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every 250 km the coolant dropping is a normal phenomenon for KTM'S. This happens on my 390 too. Just remember to keep topping up the coolant and checking your oil level. If your oil level is steady with no chage in colour then your engine is running fine.... Also as a preventive measure chage the oil seal every 20-25k km.

    • @jakgt500
      @jakgt500 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you see the coolant bubbling in your coolant reservoir then it means your cylinder head gasket has failed or your cylinder head has cracked or you cylinder has cracked. If you see your oil colour chage to a milky chocolate colour then it means your coolant is mixing but that can happen not just because the pump seal broke but because of cylinder head gasket damage too.
