I had trouble with my machine and found you. Thank you so much. I fixed it with your video. Thank you. I have a small tailoring shop, and you saved my day.
I watched this 3x and managed to set the timer on my JUKI TL98Q. It "broke", needle locked, I panicked because I had a quilt to complete and a deadline to meet! Repair folks booked for months so I searched for help and found your instructions; THANK YOU!!!! 👏
I had trouble with my machine and i was running out of time then i found this video. After several views and attempt, it fanally worked, thanks so much.....
Your technician clearly explained the steps, fantastic. I have a BROTHER DB2-B797 and your video allowed me to fix the timing myself. Thankyou 🙏 From Australia 🦘
Thank you so much, as a woman & not knowing anything about fixing my machines but through this video I managed to set my timing 🎉🎉🎉saved a lot of money
great video! my Juki DU-141 was eating needles so i pulled the rotary hook and found it was seized... upon trying to un-seize it i broke it right where the position finger goes... so i bought a new rotary hook and watched your video for proper setup... man, straight forward and down to earth... my foot was loose too and your video helped me figure out how to align it and now my Juki DU-141 sews like a dream! thank you for your taking the time to make this video!
Thank you so much for this video. I didn’t even know my timing was messed up I just thought I had cheap thread or my needle was too small. So I purchased new thread and new needles in my thread just kept shredding and then I came across this wonderful video. Followed every step and now my problem is gone. 😊 I’m a happy camper!
I work on old cars and some things require this much visual precision, great job - had to fix/adjust my wife’s juki and this video helped! Thanks! Props to you and your the master mechanic 😅👏🏽
After watching like 5 times I understood the importance of the two marks on the needle clamp and i managed to solve the issue of timing on my machine. Thank you soo much 🙏🙏
So thankful for this video! I broke a piece off the basket trying to remove a thread jam. So once I got my new part and put it back together, I realized the timing was off, and with the help of this video, I was able to time it myself. Again, thank you so much! ☺
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! It was super helpful. I had some thread break and get caught under the feed dogs and that ended up messing with the hook timing too, with your help I was able to remove the plate and feed dogs to remove the thread, and then fix the hook timing and re-assemble everything perfectly. Edited to add: and y'all seem like such nice people, I felt like there was some good banter in there too so it was a pleasant video to watch.
Really glad the video allowed you to troubleshoot in a jam. Keith, the guy talking in the video has been working on these machines for over 40 years. He's a wealth of knowledge in this niche industry. Props to him for helping us learn the re-timing!
Excellent video. My mom's machine has been sitting idle for 5 years. An old ddl 555. Broke a needle due to not inserting the bobbin housing till it latchedand before I know it checking out related videos. Now understand the bobbin side much better. And was threading the wrong way too.
Thank you so much😍!!!! Its a great tutorial. Was able to reset my timing in less than 30 mins. I was panicking its had been raining for more than 24 hrs and the repair person couldnt come yet I had an urgent order to finish
Hi I just want to thank you for this information it has helped me so much it cost me so much money for someone to come to my house to repair my machine something I can do for myself ❤❤
Thank you Cutsew, I just got an 8700 and have not operated it yet. This video has helped me understand the importance of inserting the bobbin correctly and illustrates clearly how the bobbin thread gets picked up by the needle and why it appears as a loop. Please if you want to improve on this video can you setup with two cameras and show an edited side by side video of the hook and needle alignment in relation to the marks of the needle bar, for in sync and out of sync adjustments?
I have a Juki TL 98Q and there's so much more stuff in the way of the basket. I haven't been able to find any videos on how to get in there unfortunately. If you ever have a chance to make a video on that machine, it would make my year
This is a really good video, very detail and attention to every aspect. Really appreciate it so much. Thank you for taking the time to explain this in full detail with much explanations.
Thank you for the detailed video. Trying to fix the timing on mine as thread got jammed in there and haven’t been able to use it since I bought it new a few months ago so I’ll give it a go with your instructions.
Thanks for the video. I accidentally put a scissor underneath the needle and when i switched the machine on, the needle hit the scissor and broke. Now my machine can't sew. What might be the reason? Was needle holder affected 😢
Great and detailed! But I got a question. Or at least something like that. I am sewing neoprene with nylon thread, the normal timing didn't work, so I change it a bit, the needle goes a bit further down the bottom marks and I synchronize it with the going up usual mark. This is to give more gap to make the thread hoop down the fabric.... This works, I managed to do the stiching without loosing any. The question would be if this is good for the Machine or I'm doing stupid changes... Those 2 materials together are a nightmare, maybe I am not using the right needle (DB 12-80)... Thankyou for the advice
So, if I use another needle but a 90/14 I'll have to retime it? The manual is wrong unless it means "capable" of 9/65-18/110" but as the needles get thicker will they start to rub on hook? Or is the ditch on that side of the needle keep it at the same spot no matter what size? Makes sense after seeing this that thicker needles may rub that hook. If that's true then the manual should say that. They make it sound like you can throw anything from a 9/65-18/110 needle in as long as dbx1 or whatever it it I also know that above that size the dbx1 needle shank is 2mm instead of 1.68mm or whatever. So maybe that's what they mean is the needle bar can take those sizes and with adjustments can be set for different sizes. But man that would slow you down having to go from 90-110 for denim and having to do this every time lol I'll be calling today with a few questions and possibly ordering one of these
Thank you so much for this! Do you guys have, or could you make a video on replacing the knives in a DDL8700 with an automatic thread trimmer assembly?
Hi guys, thanks for the video. I have a question, what would cause the machine to skip a few (in the first 10cm) stitches at the beginning of a garment. I have tried different needles, fabrics and threads etc. Always the first few cm of sewing. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks
Hello! I bought a used juki machine but am afraid it might be too busted for me to use. It is hard to crank the hand wheel and I don't know why. I have oil but didn't put it in yet, because I wanted more guidance on what to do. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated 🙏
While I can't diagnose a problem on a used purchase with little information, I will say the handwheels on these machines are kinda stiff to begin with. If you really want to try and get it going, we do offer a service where a tech can facetime with you to try and fix it. Starts at $50.00. www.cutsew.com/phone-or-video-consult.html
I tried replicating this, I’m now able to pick up my bobbin thread to start sewing. But when I try to sew it’s still not picking up the thread after the first stitch. Any tips?
That's what we try to answer in this video. th-cam.com/video/GN6RMrzcnOI/w-d-xo.html Check the tension, and check the hook as the instructions suggest. Hope it helps!
The bar underneath that’s holding the bobbin stuff together is blocking my bobbin from going around (I’m sorry it’s SUPER late and been trying to fix it for 3+ hours so all technical term has left me). Any tips from anyone to help me would be GREATLY appreciated 😭
I did this step by step. Its still skips. I am so frustrated with myself. I have a gemsy 0718. I put new needle in. I changed cotton and now did this step by step (amazing video by the way!) and still skips every 3 or 4th stitch. Please help. What am I missing.

Is the hook timing the issue for the needle skipping stiches on bulky parts of the fabric?

Cool ,, thank you for sharing.

So why are new Juki machines not shipped to Nigeria, since they have their largest African consumers in Nigeria?
There are probably some European companies that will ship to Nigeria, but we only ship in the U.S. currently.

How does a machine get out of time? Seems like it is not a wear item.
Why would the timing be off?
Jamming it up too much, or changing needles for way bigger or smaller sizes. Good question, wish we had addressed it in the video.
