Hiya... If you are still having overheating issues then open the three bolts on the water body and take out the thermostat valve. It will take care of the heating. I am running the same engine in a 4X4 Config in an old WW2 jeep
U can find all the parts of that engine in south INDIA i.e in bangalore, chennai and mainly in coimbutor. These engines are installed in "HM ambassador" by importing it here they rebuild these engines there are lot of mechanics doing this stuff... and even i hav the samw series engine tht is 4fc1 turbo engine in my car... And for tht fan.. we get good fan tht is made for this engine only without the clutch assembly.. and it takes half less space than wht tht fan is taking..
It seems that quite a few parts on these Isuzu diesels are interchangable, from different years, and even displacements. My dad swapped one of these 2.4's into an 81 I-Mark, to replace the gutless 1.8, also diesel. Both engines share the same starter, and I believe the intake manifold is the same. Theres probably even more interchangable parts. Is that the original 5-speed behind the engine? I need to find out what will mount to this engine, as I ran my tranny out of oil. Still drives though.
@fishermen22 no prob and thank you. 30 mpg? not bad. a diesel only uses 75% of the diesel that gets injected in to the motor the rest goes out with the smoke. if you had propane hooked to it it would burn all the diesel. it would boost your HP 40+ and give you 5-10 more mpg. 2.5 gallons of propane would go about 3,500 miles. now bio diesel made out of sun flower will boost your mpg by about 25-50% depending on what you got and the blend and is cleaner burning.
U just get this fan from "HM AMBASSADORS" the part is ambassador 2000disel radiator fan it costs around less than 700 rupees i.e around 10 pounds... That ll fix ur problem it ll give nice cooling...
Word of advice my friend. You should really consider converting to an electric fan setup and your overheating problem will be fixed. That clutch fan can go bye bye.
Hi I know this is a very long shot since this video is so old but do you still have this? I have been looking into doing this swap to mine and would like to ask some questions. Thank you.
whats your mpg? im thinking of dropping a diesel in my rodeo and running bio diesel. but im not sure what kinda diesel to get and how much it'll cost. i know some about diesels but diesel pick ups. thanks for the vid its a help
Thanks for posting this! I am importing a 1994 Isuzu Fargo camper van with the same engine. Do you have a link to the list of cross-compatible parts, or can you tell me the engine I should look to which shares a lot of parts? I am in the USA. Thanks!
TinyRVLiving Thanks for watching! It’s really hard to find parts for this engine 4fg1. A lot of the parts have to be ordered from overseas, but I really love my Isuzu. I’ll be posting a new video soon with many upgrades.
@@fishnsage Okay, thanks for your quick reply! So...there's not even some US-imported vehicle which shares an engine similar to the 4FG1? That's kind of scary. But I hope it's still such a common global engine otherwise that parts aren't too expensive, and all I need to worry about is international shipping. Is that the route you took? Thanks so much!
TinyRVLiving Sorry, I can only suggest getting it rebuilt by someone who re manufacturer pumps. I also have a diesel mechanic that is pretty good who has a good machine shop. Good luck!
Adi Aci I would have a diesel mechanic fix the timing belt. It is also very difficult to find one. The crank shaft was repaired, not replaced and the mechanic told me to change the timing belt but I couldn’t find the part.
hi! i have an isuzu fargo van with an 4fg1 engine. i've been looking for the engine number but to no avail i cant seem to find it. anybody here knows where i can see it.
Are all Isuzu Rodeo's 4wd? I have an 81 Isuzu I-Mark with the 4FG1 swapped in place of the gutless 1.8 diesel. It still uses the factory 5speed. I believe its called the MSG-5 It matched right up when my dad did the swap about 11 yrs. ago. I taco'd that tranny by running the damn thing dry while on the way home from a friends once. I need to locate another 5-speed that will bolt right up. Was hoping to find one with a taller 5th gear although that may be a tall order. Anyone familiar with these?

I'm sure that the fan for an '81 I-Mark 1.8 diesel would fit just perfect into the fan shroud. Its the same as this fan, just a little bit smaller.

Any chance you have a spare power steering pump or know where I can find one? Mine is dead. But I'm having a hard time to locate one...

redline at 6000RPM? usually isuzu diesel engine redline around 4250RPM
The tachometer on my car doesn’t work so I don’t know the RMP’s.
The design of this engine comes from the 70s, most were built in the 80s.
Hello sir..can you show how to replace timming belt for this engine please..
