    ria’s art is terrifying. I can’t believe that a child had to go through this.

    When switching to ken's personality there's an entire shift in technique, not just color usage, which is wild! That chunky, messy kind of painting style is Impasto, which physically adds depth to a piece by liberal application of paint. There really is a major shift in the brain if that switch can pull off Impasto painting on the fly

      Exactly! I couldn't have said it better myself haha...that's the thing with DID, it's not like the person affected simply changes in personality type, but they change in capabilities, demeanor, deficits, and overall brain chemistry, and more people need to understand that, especially since DID is one of the MOST stigmatized conditions out there with movies like "Split" portraying these types of people as dangerous, or like crazy people. I have talked to several people with DID and they are honestly really kind and gentle people.

      It's indeed very fascinating what the brain can do, it's an amazing mechanism of self-defense, which then really leads to incredible distinct talents in one body! I'm currently reading the book of Kim Noble, Patricia wrote it- There she explains that when Ken started to paint he apparently couldn't really deal with the painting and put too much paint. He disliked his painting and threw it against the wall. Then he really liked the results and started to do that every time (making the walls of their painting room incredibly messy haha), and his style was born.

    Hey, I personally live with did, although not to the same extreme extent as the person in the video. You got a lot of things right in the video and I'm glad you gave a positive representation of someone with did, that's pretty rare to see! A couple of notes though for future reference I guess: dissociation isn't when you switch alters, it's more the feeling you get when you mentally distance yourself from reality. I'm pretty much always dissociated to the point that pretty much nothing feels real for a variety of reasons. Also, you don't have to have amnesia between all of your alters, consciousness is where there's more than one at the front and shared memories are often a thing. Dissociative amnesia sucks also like I can't remember anything at all especially from my childhood. Alters don't have to be fully formed people, however they can. Often times alters are half formed and keeping track of who's talking or exists can be very hard, especially bc I dissociate to the point my thoughts aren't even really real anymore and it's really weird. Anyways, if you wanna talk to me to get more information or are just interested in having a chat, I'm open to whatever. I just found your channel and it seems pretty cool, I really like art that expresses what's going on with people's brains lol. If you're interested in more art from people with did idk like,, we do photography professionally and for art purposes and I think different alters see things differently when it comes to photography but I'm not completely sure on that I'm bad at keeping track at that kind of thing. Also, just remembering the gender thing lol. Overall, everyone in my system currently is a girl. We're trans and have some trauma in that department is probably why that is but also all of our littles are cis and confusion about our body is very common so yeah. Thanks for reading y'all

      Thank you for correcting me c: I love learning more about others and what they are really all about. Thank you for the long comment too haha, I love reading these long responses, it helps me learn. There is a lot of misinformation out there about conditions such as DID. I pray that these stigmas go away sooner rather than later and that people like you guys can be better understood! c:

      @@geekface7567 yeah I do think that more recently there's been a movement towards more understanding in general of mental illness and the destigmatization of did more specifically. Overall things are getting better for me so that's a positive lol.

    I'm so used to fast paced video essays that I'd to watch this in ×1.25 in order to finish it. hehe🏃‍♀️ but I'm so glad I came across this, cause I swear almost every other videos that feature Kim Noble hardly feature her art, and instead mainly focuse on discussing the "strange" and "controversial" mental illness that she carries around rather than her capabilities as an artist. I understand that DID is a big element of her journey, but she's also a person and an artist who should be appreciated for her talent rather than always being examined as this alien strange subject. So thank you so much for making this with proper research and proper representation of her(them).

    As a student of psychology I can say there's so much misinformation and obscure ideas about dissociative conditions. In school we were taught DID was just a label used to cover a variety of dissociative states. That it wasn't real.

      she was probably part of some sort of satanic cult. Looking at Ria's paintings you can see how she and other children were locked up in cages and were hit with what I think are whips, but seeing one of the paintings titles inclines me to think it's one of those things that gives controlled electrical shocks. There were probably forcing women to have children (as seen in two of her painting that feature pregnant women, in both of them they are giving birth). I'm pretty sure the cult was satanic because one of her alters is VERY religious, this could be some kind of coping mechanism. And I think it's obvious that there were lots of sexual abuse as well

    • @katethegoat7507
      @katethegoat7507 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Otra_Chica_de_Internet I'd find it difficult to believe it was a satanic ritual. I find it easier to believe that some of her alters is very religious and just blames satanism as the cause of the trauma

      Devils are not inside her the devils are the ones who did all that abuse and torture to her.Splitting her personality is actually saved her its a coping mechanism because the trauma is so hard that one personality cant deal with it so brain creates another personalities to help dealing the trauma
