I used to beg my granny to make this cake for me growing up. She would always make me one for my birthday! I never got the recipe from her so I can’t wait to try this one!
I have seen several recipes for this cake but honestly, your version seems way better to me. The use of the orange juice and the packet of orange jello is what sets this apart. Love this cake but next time I make it, I am going to use your method. I always make mine in a 9×13 for this. Yum 😋 ❤
I’ve been looking for the Mandarin cake recipe for years. My mom used to make this, and I made it in the early 2000’s for work. It was the biggest hit. I list my recipe. Ty so much. Ty , ty, Ty. ❤
I love orange and chocolate together, wonder if chocolate frosting would work with this. I might try it. I once made the Texas sheet cake and added orange extract to the frosting but I think I added too much extract and we weren’t crazy about it.
@@bumbygrlthis recipe used to be on the jello vanilla pudding box. Also the Cool whip container . Back in the 70s. Once it is made you have to keep it in the refrigerator because of the cool whip. Mine never stayed around long enough to go in the frig. Lol😊😊😊😊😊😅
This is an original Jello pudding recipe came out in in the 1970s. A girlfriend of mine made that for one of our girl friends for baby shower in the seventies and it was delicious back there then I guess it still is. It really is a very old recipe.
Tammy, I was watching a mini documentary from the channel America Before. It was tilted "Foods from The Seventies." They had a snippet of you making Watergate salad. I thought to myself, "Hey, there's Tammy!"
Hi Tammy!!! This cake sure does look tasty!!! The frosting looks delish...I have got to make this!!!... Nice eggs!!!... Such cute doggies!!!...Great Video!!!...🦋
Looks perfect for Spring/Easter. I have an Orange Supreme cake mix. Do uou think I could substitute the white cake mix with this flavor? Would you skip adding the Jello powder? Hmmm?
I've been making this cake for many years. It's called Cotton Pickin' Cake. Recipe came from the Calling All Cooks cookbook. The yelloŵ one. My version is a little bit different but I want to try yours. I've made this cake for wedding cakes! It's luscious! Glad you are feeling better. Earache's are so painful. 😊😊😊
I love those 2 flavors together. The cake looks so delicious 😋 I see there is now a charge to see your recipes on TH-cam Never heard of a charge before 😮
This cake should always be stored in the fridge! Btw, l dont use orange jello just mandarin oranges with the juice, 3 eggs, and 1/3 cup oil. Icing is just like Tammy did hers, but l used the larger can of crushed pineapple with its juice and the vanilla pudding instant and large Cool Whip❤❤. Everyone loves this cake!
