Wow, Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Your video provided some great information. This Whirlpool Duet dryer is also sold as Kenmore Elite. Same machine different control board.

It certainly helped me thanks for posting the video. Mine was the control board on the top thankfully I picked up a used dryer from my wife's relative a couple of months ago that they were throwing away and was able to get a part off of it for the repair part. Thanks again for the info and video 👊👊🤙🤙👍👍✌✌.

thanks. helped me to pinpoint my issue to a bad relay. mine was the blue one, not the black one, but i would have never guessed the black one was also a relay. now i know for next time.

Thanks very much!!!! If you hadn't shared your knowledge I would have just replaced my blown thermal fuse and not the original problem, which was the relay. Thanks again.

So you bought the board, but it was actually the relay that was faulty? I have the Whirlpool Cabrio and having the same issue.

I bought the main (front board) but the problem was the relay board in the top. The heat relay contacts weld together so the heat does not shut off. Since the heat will not shut off - as the clothes get dryer - the temperature goes up and blows the temp fuse. The blown temp fuse must be fixed but it is a symptom not a cause of the relay problems.

Is it a fuse or a relay?

It is a relay. The part number is printed on it. Sorry for any confusion.

I wish I had seen this before I replaced my thermal switch. I did 1 load and worked fine. Start my 2nd load and gave me the same problem again. I am a woman, and I can't afford a new dryer at the moment. So imma try to fix it. I really hope it's just the relay 😭😭

After you replace the relay (or relay board) you will still need a new thermal fuse. Good Luck!
