It’s very disheartening at the beginning when you don’t have the muscles to play for long.

I agree! Also I think the same goes for more advanced players that don’t have the stamina to last through a performance (I’ve been in that situation many times and it’s tough).

@@trumpetwarmup they dont have stamina because they are taught a high-effort, low efficiency approach. That is, buzzing before playing the instrument. Even worse, free- buzzing for beginners.
With the correct, efficient effort approach, one can practice in almost unlimited amounts. Even beginners have the strength to play rhe complete staff, what they DON'T have is the embouchure skill. And buzzing is a skill-killer for beginners.
I would be happy to help.

@@darryljones9208 Thanks for the thoughts Darryl! I'm going to keep on track with my method of teaching Dan. I think buzzing is helpful for him. I am very aware some people are very against free buzzing in general or free buzzing for beginners. You are of course entitled to your own opinion :)

@@trumpetwarmup I'm not against free buzzing in context as a calesthenic. But free buzzing is a horrible thing to REQUIRE a beginner ro do before you have them 1st develop a proper tone on the instrument. They will now habitually use that high-effort, inefficient and FORCED approach. And they may NEVER be able to escape that habitual approach. And each of the lessons just reinforces the habit. He could have played a pure tone in his first lesson with a different approach. I hope you are open minded enough to know that this approach does NOT work well.
