Why wont the state invest money in our VA rivers to bring the smallmouth bass fishery back? I am no biologist but i know for a fact that the smallmouth fishery is the worst ive ever seen it and im 43 years old and smallmouth fish all over the state. The james numbers are way down.
Well we stock trout streams so people can catch trout that usually dont live through hot summers, we stock striped bass in waters all over the state, we stock largemouth in rivers in the south east. I just wonder why on poor spawn years usually from mother nature, high water and flooding, we could help the rivers in tbe same way. Just a guess, maybe theres unexplaned reasons i dont know about.
One of my favorite lakes, beautiful scenery, nice smalljaws
Nice video. I agree about the river comments. I kayak fish and prefer it. Moomaw is great but big if you are paddling a kayak
Thanks for the video. I can’t seem to find any directions how to get to this place on the website.
So you have to have a trout stamp ?
Do you know of any guides who could take me on a guided fishing trip on Lake Moomaw for Smallmouth and Largemouth? Thanks!
This lake is dry , 😢 its sad whats going on here ! The boat dock is closed , bathrooms closed ...

I'm not sure money will fix the problem.
