  • Today started out as a quintessential day of streamer fishing for smallmouth bass. These bronze bruisers were called up from the depths to eat my double gonga, and I even had a largemouth join in on the fun. But as the day grew old, I turned my attention to a much larger, stronger, and more elusive river beast... the grass carp. Stick with this one guys, it only gets more exciting as the video progresses. Enjoy!

When stripping streamers, if you keep your rod tip closer to the surface of the water it will eliminate that sag in your line and you’ll be able to detect strikes better

Carps are a blast on a fly rod they don’t get tired i had one blow up on a popper while I was fishing for bass and it made my heart drop because of how loud the blow up was lol but yeah sometimes it happens and we can’t really do much about it than to try to help the fish. I enjoyed the content I hope to see more soon. Also were you using a sink tip line?

Yes I was using sink tip. It’s the line I have on my smallmouth set up. Not ideal for carp but I was using what I had available. Spooling up some floating line for next time.

Can you do a video on your set up and how you have accessed lake Murray in Columbia SC.

I will absolutely make a video explaining my set up. I’m not sure what you mean by the second part though.
